Great review and flight test! I've just received the XK110s, which is an upgrade on the machine you're flying there so it should be even better, if that's possible! I'm going to stick with stabilized mode first of all and get used to it.
I flew this in 35mph wind and it kept its heading. Very stable . The tail doesnt blow out for flips like blade mcpx. Very stable hovering upside down and pirroetting.
+1 on the xk110. if it wasnt for this little micro my skills wouldnt be as good as they are today flying my 550 class heli. i still bash around the 110 to this day. its powerful enough for its size, and it takes a beating. experienced and begginer alike. get one........you will need extra main gears. extra batteries are always good. experiment with the pitch curves for better performance. this xk also has one of the best rtr radios as well imo
The named it right on this lil speed Demon. Still flying one from beginning of last year, been thru two tail motors which is commom but these helis are strong as tanks. Just ordered another one & there still a hunderd bucks. Nice flight, youngman.
My next RC is going to be a XK product. They seem to be one of the best bang per buck companies out there. Good to see a heli for a change instead of another quad review.
To do flips n rolls you need to go in idle up mode, 3d mode,. And use negative throttle stick while upside down helis diff than quads to sho! Ya almost got it tho takes practice lots lol looks like nice chopper for 100$ crazy how cheap they are these days!
Ahhh Dunstin I got the XK-110 brushless Helicopter and it’s virtually Indestructible. Quite literally lol. I flew mine into walls at full speed attempted to go inverted and that was a disaster but with a few things out out place I put them back on and poof I was up and flying in no time. I know that spur gear is awesome if it does end up in a crash all you have to do is push it back on. I love it. But good video And shout out to ya buddy.
I started with a Syma G5 elcheapo plastic. I then moved onto Syma S107Gs and then a Blade 70S and a Eachine E119. I was on the fence about where I was headed with my next chapter going back and forth between a Blade Nano 3 and this XK K110. I ended up ordering this XK K110 RTF kit a couple hours ago. Everything I see is it is a very well made micro that holds up well to crashes and is quite capable given it's price point. So far I have not made a mistake yet getting the most for my money. Every single one was a great purchase I have been happy with. Even though I get better and more advanced I still don't stop flying and enjoying the others along the way. The Syma S107G is still my favorite inside the house. You can't use the power or maneuverability of the others in such close quarters. I kind of accidentally turned into a collector along the way too. I will probably get that Blade Nano 3 too and enjoy them all. When I started I had no idea how much fun these micro R/C helicopters were. I got hooked big time and I never forget where and how I started. That cheap plastic Syma G5 which got upgraded quite a bit to a Kawasaki green S107G for a few bucks more.
The XK K110 is so forgiving. I've crashed mine plenty & only the spur gear needs replacing after a few thumps as they crack!. Well worth the money to learn 3d on. Good review :)
I have a 3D heli from an older generation. It needs serious tuning, I can barely hover it, and I needed parts after literally every flight. It's an ultralight, and is horribly fragile. This thing promises to be awesome and let me enjoy flying helis again. :D I would have no problem learning about the Throttle Lock switch, as that's where I keep my quad's disarm switch, and where I rest my finger if I'm doing risky flight for a quick cut...
I highly suggest upgrading it by using the metal swash plate assembly, carbon fiber main shaft and I use the K 124 blade grips with the k110 Metalhead. And hcp 100 bullet blades.
Been taking a break from rc heli and used a V977 for a couple years or so...tried the xk k120 once but it had this problem of an overheating tail motor. This xk k110 on the other hand looks promising on your review...may just order one in the coming week. Auright!
This looks like the perfect little help to learn flying 3D collective pitch. As you say, very little mass to cause unwanted breakage with minimal impact. You're getting pretty good yourself with inverted flying. Thanks for the review!
I know the feeling. Flew upsidedown for 3 secs (different micro heli), crashed, stripped gear twice, gave up-too expensive to crash. May try XK as it seems more forgiving to crashes. Great review.
+sirhilsam This one is very resilient . After all the crashes the main gear is a bit noisy but still flying fine.. still have the spare gear ready. I'd imagine new main gear is only a few bucks.
I might get one of these it looks promising for me since I am new with the micro helis, I find that the blade mcpx bl2 model from Herizone hobby the tail on that model is one thing I don't quite like about it and the flight mode is not great either. So this might be a good budget model
Hey Dustin. I jut got this one yesterday and wouldn’t you know it on about the 3rd crash the gears are not lining up like what happened to you at the 17 minute mark on your video. How hard did you have to push it to get it back in the right place? I feel like I am going to crush it.
(question for you after my comment) Fun video, well narrated (the spontaneity and realism of the experience), and it was great to see someone pushing himself and crashing over and over and over like I do. On RUclips it seems you only see people's good flights where they didn't do anything clumsy (or where they failed so badly it was epic) so nice to see someone just out there working at it like I do. Also good to see I'm not the only one who nearly clips himself while he's at it (30:23)...LOL. Lots of helpful little observations and tips you shared too; thanks for all that. I was going to ask you where you were as it is really beautiful, and then I noticed your mailing address in Hawaii. Cool! QUESTION: How did you even get to the point of being able to maintain level and orientation while inverted? Did you spend time on a sim to get to that level? I can flip it over and then I can't maintain a steady inversion to save my life...it's just not clicking. How did you get past that milestone?
Thanks Steve. No sim practice but I fly (crash) many many RC aircraft. Once it's upside down think of it as your normal balancing act when flying upright just reversed controls 👍
I have owned 6 helis to date. None with proper stabilisation and all have augered into the ground and come to pieces. I don't fly helis at all now. This one seems far more robust and quite fun but I'll stick to quads and planes....
I've been learning to hover this thing in my living room, and I've banged it into every surface and piece of furniture in the room, multiple times, and I've only had to replace two rotor blades - no other damage. That main drive gear does have to be pushed back into place after crashes, but this thing is tough. But make no mistake, learning to fly this thing is HARD. You'll spend hours just learning to hover with the tail pointed at you. Learning to fly around will take many, many weeks.
Hey Dustin. I’m a RC heli guy in Kona Hi and currently just finished my first build.... SAB Fireball. Little stuck with my FBL setup and was wondering if you have in experience with ikon or IKON2 FBL. Anyway great video. Cheers
Great video! I have a blade nano s2 that I lovebut I broke the frame after many crashes lol and am looking to buy another s2 until I repair the one I have. I was thinking of buying the xk110 to fly until I do. Do you have any experience with the blade nano? I am looking for a comparison. The blade has a stabilizing button you can push of you lose control which has saved me many times.
I have the nano s3 and it’s kinda garbage. Never holds the tail, everything breaks, really bad range. I’m tired of it and looking in to getting a Omp m2 explore. (Or the k110) :)
Actually, the only way to make flips with this (or similar) heli is to have both trasmitter front and upper left switches facing towards you, a.k.a. having idle up (FMode) AND 3D (3G) mode selected.
+zaphod59 You can do standard non collective pitch flips (stall flip) by just going into 3D (acro) mode. You only need idle up if you want to fly upside down with collective pitch...

Get a multi protocal for your qx7. You will be able to have all the rc protocols including futaba for this.
@@zmanphx seriously? Which one brother?
Hi
I'm thinking about buying this, but it looks like if you barely bend the helicopter it will snap. Is it durable?
Very durable. And since it's so small and light, even more so
Thanks, also would you prefer this over the XK 124?
Don't think I've tested that one yet
tutorial trixs please
It said coreless power.not brushless...same thing?
No it's a brushed motor. Just a different design. I know it's a little deceiving.
Saw one for 30 on sale yh that's happening soon
C'mon friend, share the wealth... WHERE did you see a K110 on sale for $30???
Steve Gergetz local RC store on sale
Oh man...I'm jealous. Anywhere near Milwaukee Wisconsin? :)
In fact, I'm jealous just at the fact that you have a local RC store that sells XK stuff in the first place. I had no idea any brick & mortar stores did that...I thought XK (like many, many Chinese products) were available online only...period.
Steve Gergetz it's in Kent UK the owner fly's helis and orders from bangood stuff in small batches also Amazon he has xk 124s and a few wl toys helis and also aligne EC stuff as he fly's himself he orders good products
I 2 hours translated video. hello from Russia
18:13 o yeah cut that grass
Coreless is not brushless. Just clarifying.
It takes years to master 3d flight bro
+thafactor24 I realize that. Baby steps. Atleast you'll know how durable they are until I master 3D a bit more 😵😂👍

I HAVE THIS HELICOPTER, DONT BUY THIS, ITS A PIECE OF JUNK!
I strongly disagree. Small, light and durable plus can do 3D. Great for beginning up to advanced users.
Qualify your reply. What in particular were your experiences that led you to that opinion?
Haha! Some one is in a grumpy mood. Over 340 pages @ RC Groups with comments from people who couldn't disagree with you more! I am going with those guys on this one...
