Chronic block slicer here. - saw something on another vid of yours. I've been working on my takeaway going for that long, wide Bryson takeaway to hit the bomb ball. But the bomb ball went right into the woods. Counter intuitive - weaken the grip. It cured the cupping of the wrist and early extension. Result? Nice long draw. 2nd hole if my GPS (Garmin) was right 288 yds. 4th hole 270 yds. 5th hole 265 yds. I used to drive the ball 210 - 220 yds. Thank you for that grip lesson. It's the most counter intuitive lesson I've ever seen. Now if I can only get my short game in order, bomb ball can be followed by a gouge ball.
Mark spot on with ur instructions .. Awesome.. have seen so many driver lesson videos on you .. but I can tell you for sure honestly this is what I was looking for and this is the best video and unique for the records .. guaranteed .. thank you 👍
The pressure plate data is next level, Mark! Confirms what I was feeling at the range yesterday while trying to quiet my hands with the driver (I’m a flipper). After I got the feeling out of my hands, my good fades had me finishing on the back foot, and my good “draw balls” had me finishing on the front foot. Very fortunate for me that you release this while the feeling is still fresh 👍🏻
🤯 Perfect timing. I had a series of lessons over this past winter. Instructor had one of those force plates. Told me I should be getting my weight heel side on the left foot in the downswing. Right handed golfer. My miss has always been right with the driver. Can’t wait to try this tomorrow. Since we can’t hit driver on the range, could be an interesting day..... Thanks Mark! ⛳️🏌🏽♂️
Haven't played much this yr and I've been losing my swing, took these tips to the range and I started hitting it much better, also in the irons. The takeaway tip, face pointing down at ball longer helps me set my wrists a lot easier and more naturally.
@MarkCrossfield, Thanks I've been considered a bomber in my playing careerhowever the last three or four years I've lost some distance. I've predominately hit a draw. Also the last couple yearsI've struggled it consistently hit a draw and often times been relegated to finishing rounds playing a fade. In the past I've been able to hit draws and fades at will as. Watchedthis video last night and this morning went to the range. Turn played eighteen holes with some buddies and I shot my best score in 6 years 69. An added to 20 yards off the tee on average. Hitting beautiful draws. Moving the handle first on the backswing is what helped thanks.
“DRAW BALL” - Thanks!!! This is great information! I hit two more fairways (and 3 more tee shots were barely off into the left-side rough). More importantly, only one slice! I also had 2 more GIRs. I did the opposite of these and had some great fades as well. My confidence is through the roof now!
The description of the club head and shaft relationship at the onset of the takeaway has to be the most insightful advice I have ever heard. Truly appreciate your golf wisdom Mark. "Golf is in the details"
Really hard to get this one. Will watch again at the range and see if I can feel what you are describing. I can't work this one out without a club in my hand! Great content as always Sir.
Mark this is awesome. Just recently I've been playing a very functional fade but couldn't figure out why, the feeling of the left foot moving back out the way is very familiar. Just that thought prevention alone will help me draw or straighten up. Best golf content on RUclips as always. Thanks bruh.
“Draw ball”. This was super helpful for me on the range this morning! Especially just the overall thought of seeing something different when you felt your miss getting out of hand. Amazing how we can feel we are exaggerating something when the numbers show it’s really only fairly minor.
Hi mark, the way you explain and talk through your points is unlike anything or anyone else online. I’ve watched quite a few of your draw/slice fixing videos and I still can’t seem to get it. My fairway woods are pretty consistently drawing my long irons draw naturally but my driver slice is wicked. It was playable for a few years then it was dead straight for 3 weeks and now the slice is overtaking my game. I don’t even use it anymore. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated keep up the great work!
Brilliant video I love the fact your make instructional content for all levels of golfer this I think is aid to maybe a lower handicap player working on manipulating the ball more than just trying to make strike. Playing off 5 this is the sort of stuff I like to watch and hope to Benefit from. Cheers mark and coach
I watch the channel for the golf vlogs and really hope you can do some more soon. I don't know if there are others like me? I don't watch the lessons as it would conflict with our excellent golf pro and I have bought all the equipment I am ever going to buy. So, just a vote for the vlogs:)
Had a session on range last night Mark before watching this video and everything you said here I felt and was hitting a nice little draw. Especially was playing the ball a bit more towards middle of stance. My only challenge is a few pull draws versus starting out right. Thanks for validating what I felt was right.
Another great lesson Mark! I learned to fade by aiming my club face to where I want the ball to land. And aim my feet to where I want the ball to start. Thanks
Going through this right now. Earlier in the season got fitted and my driver path was neutral and 2* up. Had a recent gap test on Trackman as hitting irons further and driver path was 4* out to in and 0.4* down! Throwing away 30 yards and accuracy. Employing this fix now. Face slightly right. Feet slightly left at target, like the take away feeling! 👍🏼
Fade is my shot Mark, I am comfortable with it and I see the shot, I do occasionally go for a draw shot if it is really required otherwise it's the fade-straightish shot, but some really useful information to work on...
Thanks Mark. nice video. Goal would be able to hit both. Predominantly trying to hit fade at the moment with driver but to be able to hit draw sometimes would be nice. Lots of subtle feels that make sense to me.
I've actually been doing this for a few weeks now and I've noticed it encourages me to come from inside out and has eradicated my slice (except when tired, raise hands, and heel it). I also line up more in the toe than the centre.
“DRAW BALL”! Been hitting a draw with the driver quite regularly of late until today when I was slicing everything. Was baffled. This helped a lot. Think I got the handle and takeaway the wrong way around. Back again tomorrow!
Love the explanation and the process - makes a lot of sense especially making sure that it's not just a one tip fix it's a sequence that's connected - will be referencing this vlog for future sessions down the range. Thanks Mark!
Hi mark thank you I have been fading so much everything you have said about the fade is what I have been doing. Will try all this tomorrow to see if i can draw it 🤔 I wish I could make it look so easy.
"Draw ball". Can't hit one. But I saw the remark. Loved the video. Talking about these ideas you use and how it feels to you. That makes it more relatable.
I find this so interesting, that you have gone proper ham to get this change through. Not so much in terms of following the tips but the explanation what you feel and what helps you since anybody who tries to change their swing will have different feels that works for them. The important points you make is the feel vs real and how much you need to exaggerate to get even a tiny bit of real change. Oh, and your new swing is much more efficient and proper power. I reckon Parfield is a goner, Birdfield is the new black.
Wow I will try that today laying iron down on the floor I do have a problem with that in 2 out path. Can't seem to get the swing right with the timing and not being off balance like tilting back while I'm hitting golf ball
Mark, an old vid of yours taught shaping in a very simple way by changing set up - body alignment and altering the face angle. Great way for beginners to understand the mechanics, if you will. What you suggest here takes more skill, feel and knowledge to apply and will help better players more. Just my 2c worth.
Great stuff. 2 qus: 1. Why handle forward at set-up if you want to add dynamic loft to encourage draw shape? 2. I can hit standard draw with ball back a touch but when I try high draw it tends to pull rather than push draw.. any setup/inswing ideas? I've tried ball teed higher but slightly back and swing feel from.in to out but can't hit that functional high push draw.. 🤔
It’s a great analysis of your draw journey. I find my draw adds significant gains to my drive over my fade. Not having the tools to fully measure this I suspect I get more rollout with the draw. My swing thoughts to instigate a draw are very much picturing me taking an in swinging corner with a football.
You prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Raymond Jaxton i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Amazing video Mark. Such valuable information. Thanks for sharing it. I’m still working hard on correcting a high handle delivery and things are progressing nicely. The trail heal to lead toe along with hip slide/push before downswing is something I’m particularly working on right now, so the club under foot feeling could be a really good one. I might use an alignment stick for now though haha.
Loved the explanation, simplifies my swing thought, always struggled to hit the draw as a lefty as most courses have OB down the left, big lets not block it thoughts
I like the final bit to simulate the pressure of your feet on the takeaway & follow through. Was the iron placed on your instep of each foot? Can't tell! Hopefully, the iron is an old iron that your no longer using.
I’d love to try that 5 degree driver use 8 on my Srixon right now but I hit 5-7 up and add loft for a high draw. Would love to see my peak height (if any) with it.
“DRAW BALL”! Great content, as usual! Due to your advice, I’ve started to think more about how I use the ground. As someone who’s played more football than anything else, my legs are probably the strongest part of my body, so it would make sense to use them as much as possible!😂
Great video! I have been trying to move my game from a pronounced fade/slice to a draw. Thanks to the help of my PGA Pro I can now draw pretty much any club in my bag, which would never have happened before. The draw seems a big advantage on longer clubs when looking for distance, but a hindrance on short clubs when trying to make total distance and carry distance as close to the same as possible. Am I missing something?
The Take away part makes sense to why my 3wood off the tee will draw more than driver. I feel like the 3w is long and low (one piece) and the driver i feel like i have to take it up further away. One piece take away and setting the club to hit the inside of the ball. Where the driver is already further away from my body and likely to hit center to outside of the ball more often. Also i am fighting my high handed blocked miss
I've been working on this technique for the past two days and have consistently been getting the ball to move from right to left, but I have one question as I seem to be doing something wrong. I'm hitting up 1 degree but my tee shots are all looking like low punch shot heaters with a ten yard draw. So my question is this, what should I do to keep this shot shape but get it higher in the air? Increasing AoA isn't an option at the moment and I'm using a 10.5 degree Mavrik (standard version). Is it simply a matter of adjusting the club face at address? Thanks for the wonderful content!
Is it correct to say that your draw starts on the line of your feet and then curves of to the left to the target? Opposite with fade. Or said in another way - is your face always square to your feet line at impact? Only path in relation to the square face that varies? On then just line up a little to the left or right depending on the shape?
Regarding draw being no better than the fade: With the draw, don't you deliver less dynamic loft at impact and therefore have the potential for higher ball speed and more distance?
Chronic block slicer here. - saw something on another vid of yours. I've been working on my takeaway going for that long, wide Bryson takeaway to hit the bomb ball. But the bomb ball went right into the woods. Counter intuitive - weaken the grip. It cured the cupping of the wrist and early extension. Result? Just a bloody lovely video bruh. Simplistic yet knowledgable. This is the shizzle I’m here for! Lol
Just tried this in the garden. The weight shift to the left toes works really. Cheers Mark keep up the great work
Mark spot on with ur instructions .. Awesome.. have seen so many driver lesson videos on you .. but I can tell you for sure honestly this is what I was looking for and this is the best video and unique for the records .. guaranteed .. thank you 👍
I mean watched so man videos on ‘RUclips’ ..

Super helpful in going deep into the small changes that can make a big difference when changing your ball flight.
Great lesson Mark, this was the best description of the draw sing .
🤯 Perfect timing. I had a series of lessons over this past winter. Instructor had one of those force plates. Told me I should be getting my weight heel side on the left foot in the downswing. These kinds of videos are gold IMO - so much technical information in such a "short" video. Absolutely amazing content
Haven't played much this yr and I've been losing my swing, took these tips to the range and I started hitting it much better, also in the irons.
The takeaway tip, face pointing down at ball longer helps me set my wrists a lot easier and more naturally.
Thanks Mark! You have a way of explaining things that speak to me!!!
@MarkCrossfield, Thanks I've been considered a bomber in my playing careerhowever the last three or four years I've lost some distance. I've predominately hit a draw. The take away tip is huge and very simple and it works. Keeping that face closed feels much better on the way back and I feel more in control!
Really hard to get this one. Will watch again at the range and see if I can feel what you are describing. I can't work this one out without a club in my hand! Great content as always Sir.

I wish I had your ability to control your numbers by such a micro amount on command! Great ability mark. “Draw ball”
Awesome video Mark. Looking forward to taking this to the range as a feelings checklist.
I've been trying to do the same. Appreciate the walk through though. Not sure if I can do it but it's food for thought
Going through this right now. Earlier in the season got fitted and my driver path was neutral and 2* up. I have to give this a try. Sounds like great info/tips. I hope it helps me. Been struggling with drawing my irons and distance.
Great instruction, more of this please
Good info here Mark! I could have really used this video when I first started playing.
Some very good ideas here, great stuff
Really enjoying the 'Coaching' vids you've been putting up recently Mark 👌
Hi mark thank you I have been fading so much everything you have said about the fade is what I have been doing. Will try all this tomorrow to see if i can draw it 🤔 I wish I could make it look so easy.
Great as always mark!
Good video very helpful thanks mark
Interesting. Will try these. Keep you posted. 👍🙂

@Raymond Jaxton it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass!
@Kylen Riley happy to help xD
One of the hardest shots for me to hit. I usually have a power fade.
Good video here Mark
Thank you

Great 👍
Very helpful video
I like the final bit to simulate the pressure of your feet on the takeaway & follow through. Was the iron placed on your instep of each foot? Can't tell! Hopefully, the iron is an old iron that your no longer using.
Honoured to get the first comment. Off to the range I go. Thanks for all your videos.
Will be good to watch. I play a lovely draw with the irons but as soon as I get to driver it’s a fade (power fade)
Great video...thanks.
Great vid Mark👍👍
I’d love to try that 5 degree driver use 8 on my Srixon right now but I hit 5-7 up and add loft for a high draw. Would love to see my peak height (if any) with it.
Great vid. I slightly cast my right hand to it a draw.
Great video, thank you
Very complex, but will try ,
“DRAW BALL”! Great content, as usual! Due to your advice, I’ve started to think more about how I use the ground. As someone who’s played more football than anything else, my legs are probably the strongest part of my body, so it would make sense to use them as much as possible!😂

Great vid mark

The draw seems a big advantage on longer clubs when looking for distance, but a hindrance on short clubs when trying to make total distance and carry distance as close to the same as possible. Am I missing something?
Any way you can talk about over- drawing...too much to the toe of the driver/fairway wood? Even with trying in to out swing.
"draw ball" going to give this a go at the range my tries at a draw have always been using more drastic alignment differences but this makes sense
Draw ball. Also the reasoning with preassure plates is interesting and often backwards with what is the hen and the egg
Yes please!!! Love the little nuggets dropped.
Love it. Love the reasoning. As usual, your vids are a priority click on youtube.
Very good video 👍
Great vid. I've been struggling with this; have lost my confidence with a draw
I've been working on this technique for the past two days and have consistently been getting the ball to move from right to left, but I have one question as I seem to be doing something wrong. I'm hitting up 1 degree but my tee shots are all looking like low punch shot heaters with a ten yard draw. Would like to see the same with a 3 wood off the ground. I can't get a clean strike. Off a small tee is not a problem...
Mark getting it done till this day lol good one Mark
Draw ball , as an habitual power fader I’ll give this a go
Great, insightful video, but blimey, how many irons did you break before sorting out your footwork?!? Keep up the good work 😀
Got fitted for Ping 410 driver. Now I hit nothing but draws. Haven't sliced it once in ten rounds.
Regarding draw being no better than the fade: With the draw, don't you deliver less dynamic loft at impact and therefore have the potential for higher ball speed and more distance?
Makes sense...you hitting more fairways than coach 😬🤣
Well definitely try these out. Thanks Mark!
Draw ball. Great video
"Draw Ball".... great vid!
