- It's finally here 😁! This animation is a remake of my 2017 Boba Date meme which was one of the first videos that really kick started my channel. I wanted to remake this work because the original was so special to me. Thank you @LittleRubyRue for being one of the reasons I was inspired to create this channel 😭❤. This year marks a decade of animation for me, so I found it fitting to go back and see how far I've come. Of course nothing can replace the original, I still love it for its own reasons, but it was super fun to put a new twist to the song!
I was so excited to officially share this project with the world because it features all of my original characters from my concept "The Jewel Sisters." It's like their own little debut 😊. This project took a lot of work because of how many characters there are in it, but I'm so pleased with the end result because I finally get to see them all together 🤩.
It's challenging to put names to faces, but their hair matches the color of their stone which they're named after. All twelve of the main girls are based off of the birth stones: Garnet, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Diamond, Emerald, Pearl, Ruby, Peridot, Sapphire, Opal, Topaz and Zircon. Then the two extra characters are the siblings Jet and Onyx!
Concept summary:
"In a dystopian world inhabited by gemstone people capable of great strength and mysterious power, Emerald is determined to hold on to her chosen family whom she calls the "Jewel Sisters" as they face the difficulties of the corrupt floating island of Houseki."

My sister and I watch your wip basically daily so when I told her that you were gonna share this week she got excited.
This came out astounding! I can only imagine how long it took to animate these complex-designed characters. If you ever need a break in spite of a hand injury, like you once mentioned in stream, please take the time to do so! This was worth the wait :)

1:05 gives off so much emotion like:

You have no idea how incredibly happy this animation has made me. I felt nothing but joy watching the amazing and colorful characters enjoying their big hangout for boba and their little dance sequences especially near the end was an animation treat! Definitely a video i'd be rewatching whenever i feel down.

the fact inside of being two couple going out its instead a big group of friends going out makes me love this even more cuz it shows that friendship is just as important as a romantic relationship like AAAA ITS ADORABLE BUT THERE IS STILL A COUPLE IN THE FRIEND GROUP AND IT MAKES IT FEEL REAL LIKE AAAA

I’ve gone from rewatching the WIP of boba date tons of times to rewatching the finished boba date tons of times. You have been my favorite RUclipsr for years now and your videos never fail to brighten up my day. This video is a prime example of that. Absolutely AMAZING. Somehow you manage to make your characters unique and bright but not too overwhelming or weird looking. From this video you just have to admire not only the stunning character design but the fact that it shows all of their personalities and qualities in a 2 minute animation meme.
