After careful research I am about 80% sure that *it* is Lees' bee's knees*, and that you are correct in your assesssment that this is *it*. *I know Quintin is also involved, but it's his own fault for not having a name that would phonetically match here.
Saw Matt tweeting a while back about having to write music, and how he's not really good at it. And I have to say, with "Nobody Cares About Your Dreams", "The Regular Feature Theme Tune" and all the other amazing songs he makes, I'm a little worried about his self image. You're good at songs, Matt!
I really appreciate the serialised nature of the video; it works really well with your comedy style. I'm hoping given this is Episode 1 we'll get more of this.
I appreciate you guys haven’t posted much lately on this channel, for various and valid reasons as commented from your previous honest videos. You guys have come back with a incredible video. The production quality was fantastic, the editing, the script, the comedy, the content. I throughly enjoyed watching all 25 minutes of the video.
This video made me sad. Sad that I have been so free with my thumbs ups that I have cheapened its meaning and, thus, cannot adequately express how much I enjoyed this.
I feel like I've just witnessed a new kind of video production style, something good, as surreal as some of the games you are talking about...wonderful stuff guys, honestly, seriously: well done guys, fantastic work! This is what videogames critic can and needs to be!
Maybe I can save someone the trouble of rewinding and pausing: Local police have been left bamboozled by the strange deaths of two Z-list "RUclips Personalities". Mr Quintin Smith and Matthew Lees of London were found dead in the home of Mr Lees, under mysterious circumstances that police are keen to assure was "very unlikely misadventure". The pair frequently covered board games, and prior to that 'video games', a hobby which for both had begun [RUclips player controls in the way]
This is SO well produced and made and clearly my new favourite thing. Totally has that surreal 70's british tv show vibe. Very Into it. Gonna throw money at you.
Wow...this really blew it out of the water............literally? I was concerned this would be another "review" stint in the way of most video game reviewers. But this is something far more. I love how it puts an interesting (parodic?) context on the video game industry and culture while also being entertaining and then taking some very interesting analysis on these games not for the sake of "this is graphically good, mechanically bad, play or don't play" but rather cutting into what they do for the industry, what experiences they set up, and what those impacts could be both on a micro and macro level...do more!
Absolutely brilliant concept and execution! Love the series already, reminds me of classic British weird sketch shows like the Mighty Boosh or Not the Nine o Clock News. Fits in perfectly with Cool Ghosts' style and method of discussion. Just excellent! Look forward to to many more I hope!
I love you guys and your weird and amazing sense of humour. I also admire your ethic around what you do, why and how you do it, I feel like you put so much more thought and soul into what you do in a market dominated by copy-paste reviews and "hey guys today we're gonna take a look at..." style videos by content creators on RUclips. I've followed SU&SD and later Cool Ghosts, for a long time now. But this was the very best video you've made so far and it shows that you put a lot of work into it. You are always playing around with format and you've really outdone yourself with this one. I'm so happy you keep on doing what you do because for me, you fill a big void in both the board-gaming and video gaming communities.
This is like a heady mix of Mighty Boosh, Brass Eye and I don’t know what. It’s literally the best show ever made about games. It should be on TV. Great job boys, keep it up 😊👍
This was wonderful. Crazy and wierd but wonderful. Congratulations on a great production! I'm always super interested to hear what you pair have to say and it's great to see what your creative juices can produce too.
Matt's disembodied mouth singing about how nobody cares about your dreams is some Mighty Boosh nonsense, and it will surely haunt me long after I leave this mortal plane.
Best thing I have seen in years! You weird lovely people. I also think the starving artist is something the both of you might have experienced, and I mean the need to be forced to create and be inventive. Not the starving part, since you are already dead.
Wow this must have taken a shit load of work to produce, love this format. This feels like an amalgamation of everything you have both worked for in one show. My socks are are thoroughly blown off sir.
First comment I've written in probably six months. All of my writing has been focused on school. Your critique of games has this high theory standard that I really enjoy. Criticism is supposed to be on-going and dynamic. What I find you guys do better than anyone is to reveal the relevance of what a game is doing, in terms of how it fits in - or doesn't fit in - with contemporary game theory. The thought you guys are putting into your criticism, I find, knows no equal. I enjoy that you guys take your time to express an argument. I feel like I am listening to an academic who knows how to entertain. This better be the first of many episodes. To give you two even better compliments, the No Man's Sky video of criticism is one of my favourite pieces of game criticism. And I haven't even played the game - at all. And the Subnautica video you two made, convinced me to purchase the game, and play it in a way that I could enjoy it. And enjoy I did. Keep it up guys.
Been watching since it was just mat, this imo is the best video you guys have ever made. It's completely different from any type of series I've ever seen on RUclips, tonally it's really refreshing. Great vid
Oh my god, yes! This is fantastic! Adapting the old SUSD format to CG is perfect - I was literally sitting here smiling all throughout the video. Amazing work you guys! This video made me incredibly happy.
This reminded me of the surrealistic yet deeply thoughtful nature of bygone TV programs like "X-Play" and "Game Sauce." Assuming there will be more, I would like to make this a regular viewing habit.
Where's episode 2? or any other videos for that matter? miss the days when I could watch at least one video a week with Matt Lees talking about games on Videogamer, and then I got introduced to Quinns through SU&SD and I know those videos are still frequent, but I still miss my VG related videos. Keep up the good work on all fronts, guys!
R.I.P. Matt and Quinns. Sorry for your losses. Look forward to more episodes. This reminded me a lot of those weird late night channel 4 shows from years back like Vids and the Adam and Joe Show where they were all odd and fun but smart and slightly dangerous. Drinking bleach is dangerous. Obviously the toaster thing would never happen like that. Dropping a toaster in the bath merely gives you ironic super powers.
This is absolutely fantastic, I very much enjoyed the format of glueing together a bunch of think pieces the two of you would do separately with a continuous surreal bit full of clever little bits of commentary, and obviously you're jokes were as hillarious as always. :) I look forward to seeing where you guys go with it next.
ooooo 98% wasps? You make a strong argument sir. Even Wasp Simulator 2018 only has about 83% wasps. Love it! Wish I could see this on T.V. at 1:00 or 2:00 am. Please find me a game with 100% wasps. Thank you!
very appreciate talking about and being interested and literate in games while also having any interests outside games. excellent work lads, i hope we see more, even if it though this surely took a lot of work!
Great episode guys. Recently I played "Heat Signature" and whole-heartedly I recommend it. You can get into the action, kill or stun a bunch of guys then get caught and threw into outer space...is it over?! Of course not. You can remotely controll your little ship to rescue you and then get you back to the objective. Sweet story to tell to your grandchildren.
if youve not tried gunpoint, i recommend that to you. same guy who made heat signature and excellent. flexible stealth hacking platformer, smooth jazz, noir styling, cheeky punny humor. ends a little abruptly but its charm and systems make it well worth the tiny price. also definitely check out the creator's manifesto which you can find online (his name is tom francis). very inspiring stuff, will make you love heat signature even more reading his motivations
hi yes I was looking at your framing device and quick question if you could: what the fuck?
Yesss, this is *it* . I'm not sure what " *it* " is but this is definitely *it*
Oh indeed it is!
After careful research I am about 80% sure that *it* is Lees' bee's knees*, and that you are correct in your assesssment that this is *it*.
*I know Quintin is also involved, but it's his own fault for not having a name that would phonetically match here.
This has 42% more *it* than I've ever encountered before. This may even be dangerously *it*.
100%
We need 'Nobody Cares About Your Dreams' as a stand alone video, so we can send it to people.
Here you go! ruclips.net/video/ZiXcg08tjls/видео.html
Yessssss!
My thoughts exactly!
Hahaha the most relevant thing for conversations ever
Oooh, yes please!
Scott Gregson they're good songs, Matt
Maybe I’m jumping too far ahead but what is the procedure of getting you own music on Spotify? I think it would have a dedicated following.
This video has so many layers, like some kind of Victoria sponge made entirely of onions.
Man... I can't believe that Matt and Quins are dead.
I really appreciate the serialised nature of the video; it works really well with your comedy style. I'm hoping given this is Episode 1 we'll get more of this.
That's the plan!
Colour me the interested shade of the optimistic spectrum.
So excited for this :D
Sounds like a good plan.
I appreciate you guys haven’t posted much lately on this channel, for various and valid reasons as commented from your previous honest videos. You guys have come back with a incredible video. The production quality was fantastic, the editing, the script, the comedy, the content. I throughly enjoyed watching all 25 minutes of the video.
it's the format of the earliest SU+SD videos come to Cool Ghosts! so good!
Gods, I miss these videos. I'd forgotten how incredible they were.
And now, within days, it's all gonna end.
It's no coincidence that the first game in this abnormal video is one about the creative process.
This is the best thing since Matt discovered the camera/filter thingy in XCOM 2.
"Like being baptised by a library" Best. Quote. Ever
Maybe I can save someone the trouble of rewinding and pausing:

Thanks. Hey, I guess they've got to become cool ghosts *somehow*.
This was completely brilliant. It made me think very much of "Darkplace", which I say as a very high compliment.
What a huge treat, guys. Great work with this new format!
This is SO well produced and made and clearly my new favourite thing. Totally has that surreal 70's british tv show vibe. Very Into it. Gonna throw money at you.
Excellent stuff. You really stand out with your choice of games, insight, eloquence, etc. Keep at it.
"Are you going to call Mass Effect a shooting and boning simulator?"
I will now.
I love the new format, guys. Truly standout.
Wow...this really blew it out of the water............literally? I was concerned this would be another "review" stint in the way of most video game reviewers. But this is something far more. I love the new series, a sort of stream of consciousness take on game critique, mixed with Luxury Comedy... so like a simulcast of consciousness.

I love this. It's the best videogame fever dream I've ever seen. Good work.
This is the most bizzare and delightful framing device for a videogame review show! Love it
This is an absolutely standout piece lads. 10/10, loved it
This is like a heady mix of Mighty Boosh, Brass Eye and I don’t know what. It’s literally the best show ever made about games. It should be on TV. Great job boys, keep it up 😊👍
This entire episode was transcendent.
This may be the best video you've made yet. So funny.
Wow guys, this is great. Cool format, and I'm loving the games you're covering. Not enough people have talked about the weird grind of Passpartout!
Absolutely love the format, the song about disinterest in dreams was catchy too! Good to see you back and on top form :)
That looked like so much bloody work. and I think it paid off. Funny, thoughtful, clever. as always, a brilliant experience. Keep it up boyos.
This video made me finally subscribe to the patreon, keep up the good work.
Love it. Has a Mighty Boosh feel to it. Should be picked up by a TV station
single best video game content in years. witty and dry. self aware. reminds me of brass eye. AAAA please make more
possibly the best thing you guys have ever made, and this is coming from a long time fan, please make more!
Great work guys can really tell a lot of work has gone into this and it’s quality.
This was wonderful. Crazy and wierd but wonderful. Congratulations on a great production! I'm always super interested to hear what you pair have to say and it's great to see what your creative juices can produce too.
Stay producing the highest quality video game journalism on this site boys
please, we need more cool ghosts
Matt's disembodied mouth singing about how nobody cares about your dreams is some Mighty Boosh nonsense, and it will surely haunt me long after I leave this mortal plane.
This kinda feels like if the Boosh didn't do quite nearly as much acid and were gamers and not musos
only just noticed the "marshadow of a doubt" line, your series is a masterwork
This is amazing! Thanks for all the hard work Matt and Quinns
I really, really, really need a very high quality mp3 of "Nobody Cares About Your Dreams" so that I can make it my ringtone.
This is absolutely excellent. Well worth the wait and well worth the Patreon money. Excited to see episode two.
This reminds me SOOOOO MUCH of the short video clips in Command & Conquer...in the best way!
Love the new format. It's like a second series of Videogaiden!
Really loving the tone in this video, really weird and dark, very much up my alley.

Holy cow! I'm just five minutes in and already this has made my day so much better. You guys are amazing!
Cool new format gents! Good to have you back.
I came back here just to watch the intro sequence again. It is gold.
I only discovered this now, since it was recommended on yt
You guys always find the perfect metaphor for what you're trying to describe, I don't know how you do it.
Been watching since it was just mat, this imo is the best video you guys have ever made. It's completely different from any type of series I've ever seen on RUclips, tonally it's really refreshing. Great vid
Great new format guys. More than anything just good to see you back
Wow this format is magical
Oh my god, yes! This is fantastic! Adapting the old SUSD format to CG is perfect - I was literally sitting here smiling all throughout the video. Amazing work you guys! This video made me incredibly happy.
Wow, this reminds me of old-school SUSD episodes. I loved those!
and THIS is why Cool Ghosts is my favourite channel. It makes me want to get creative. You're BRILLIANT guys, keep it up.
This reminded me of the surrealistic yet deeply thoughtful nature of bygone TV programs like "X-Play" and "Game Sauce." Assuming there will be more, I would like to make this a regular viewing habit.
Brilliant. I always appreciate this kind of video that blends all sorts of elements, please don't stop doing these!
Chuffing glorious. By far the best videogame show I've ever seen, love everything about this. Keep up the spectacular work!
Yes, I'll have another, thanks.
This was absolutely fantastic. I've always loved Cool Ghosts style of podcasts/reviews/etc and this is just wonderful. Please keep it up!
I'll finish watching this right after your analysis of Passepartout stops obliterating my soul.
Seriously love your videos so much.
Where's episode 2? or any other videos for that matter? miss the days when I could watch at least one video a week with Matt Lees talking about games on Videogamer, and then I got introduced to Quinns through SU&SD and I know those videos are still frequent, but I still miss my VG related videos. It's like the mighty boosh meets noah cadwell gervais and it's the best thing ever
So British, intellectual, X-Play, complete with the absurdist sketch comedy. Holy shit I could not be more in.
That was delightful. So impressed at the format.
You guys did good. Excellent production!
guys. youve made something awesome here. keep it up.
Like Luxury Comedy for video games, which is the nicest thing I can say.
This reminds me of The Day Today but with video games. I really liked it - I feel as though I could see this on TV late at night lol.
Fun fact: you can make anything sound more interesting by adding "as the prophecy foretold" to its end, as the prophecy foretold.
This is brilliant. Sort of Mighty Boosh with video games. Great work guys.
This might be the greatest review I've ever seen on RUclips. Great work, can't wait for more!
You guys are on to something with this, probably one of the best videos i have seen in a while.
ooooo 98% wasps? You make a strong argument sir. Even Wasp Simulator 2018 only has about 83% wasps.

very appreciate talking about and being interested and literate in games while also having any interests outside games. excellent work lads, i hope we see more, even if it though this surely took a lot of work!
Holy crap...this is fantastic. I love you guys even more now, if that’s even possible!
*sees new video notification*
Me: Omg CoolGhost is Alive again!
Video: both Quins and Matt die in the first minute.
Me. 😓👻😓👻😓👻
"CoolGhost is Alive again"
This is thoughtful, idiosyncratic and very well made. Congratulations to you two, I look forward to much more.
This is brilliant. A mix of Consolevania, The Day Today and The Mighty Boosh. Keep this going.
The writing you guys put out make me want to do some of my own, the world is so much more fun and educating with well thought out jokes and wits.
This, and your Shut Up and Sit Down stuff are my best discovery on YT in a long time. Cheers
The evershards of crostini have crossed the sacred barrier! WHY AM I ONLY FINDING OUT NOW!?
I'm so fucking happy. Just deliriously happy about whatever the fuck happened here.
It's was brilliant. Thank you. Don't worry and take your time with next ones. Such delight is worth the wait.
You guys are doing something really special, I hope you know that.
Great episode guys. Recently I played "Heat Signature" and whole-heartedly I recommend it. You can get into the action, kill or stun a bunch of guys then get caught and threw into outer space...is it over?! Of course not. I'm loving this so much. I was wondering a little while ago where you've all run off to, but this was so worth the wait.
Great video. I love hearing your (pl.) take on indie games et. al.
