In this video, I’ll give you an in depth look at what you’ll learn in my Drawing Basics course, which I’ll be publishing here on RUclips and proko.com for the next 18 months or more! I’ll go through the outline, all the concepts we’ll be learning, warmups, beginner and intermediate levels of the projects in this course, what I expect from you for assignments and community participation.

@@brap97 nay man, that was my shitty friends fault who insulted my drawings. Creativity is about expression so for someone like a close friend to insult one’s art shouldn’t break them down but inspire a greater work of sadness cause of friendship lost. Anyways no.

I love that there are two levels for the assignments, I've been learning and taking a bunch of classes the past 1.5 years so a good refreshing with some challenging assignments is perfect as I don't know where I am skillwise, can't wait to start this! I have always been an outgoing person and in school, I have always seen then quiet kids draw and didn't think it was for me. Now I'm graduated and no longer have access to the low brass instruments that i used for my expression.
I am also a new furry and wish to represent myself in earnest without spending all my money on commissions.
I have shaky hands and no grasp of the fundamentals, but I'm looking forward to learning this skill

Does someone ever told you that you look like Christopher Nolan? Anyway, I'm 28 and enrolled at the University of Design with 0 knowledge of drawing, perspecting, and other stuff but wanted to learn. I think that, being creative and have the knoledge of drawing and immaginations thinks could makes me a great designer. Or I can take the path of 3d artist and makes videogames. Great videos dude!

Hello sir I have a doubt so I have seen videos saying that our drawing should first start by simplifying the picture we are drawing into simple shapes take it as rectangle circle and 3d like cube sphere and so on and this then helps to make our proportions better but I have seen a person who says that we have to just start somewhat like scribbling with the outline and just wantedly scribbles the lines which he can see like in case of fingers he just starts scribbling it and says that doing this will help in exploring new ideas and help see which line shape fits the best instead of the tapered stroke and sir but you have alway said us to ur the tapered stroke while drawing like in your loose sketches and i haven't seen you start your drawing with simple shapes but seen you use the lines instead so then
What according to you is the best approach:
1. Simplifying pictures to shapes
2.just trying to scribble the outline and exploring new ideas and doing this to help see which line shape fits the best
3.Using tapered strokes and lines importantly lines and then shaping them properly into the desired figure?

The very first step in drawing is to look better and find the fundamental shapes of any objects and then go for details
If you're almost completely aphantic (aphantasia aka unable to visualize), is it still possible to come up with your own characters? I am okay at drawing from a reference but everytime I try to come up with my own designs, they look like they were done by a third grader.
Glen Keane, one of the greatest animators has aphantasia. He’s created characters such as Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Beast (Beauty and the Beast), and Tarzan (Tarzan)

We try to offer as many languages as we can as a small team. The auto translated Portuguese subtitles are probably going to be as close as we can get for you, though that's far from perfect.

I may be overreacting but, Proko, is this a call to arms?
For any level 3 artists here,u can start with any huge boulder you can find and start sculpting Abraham Lincoln with a plastic spork.
I hope there will be the same sense of humor like in old course.

What is the drawing board you use?
I don't really use a drawing board at this point. My main drawing surface is a drafting desk I bought off of Craigslist ages ago. (But not the tiny one you see later in this video. That's for kids)
