I'm surprised Nick Martinez wasn't mentioned at all in the reliever section, he pitched two inning in that mexico city game and didn't even give up a hit. 5 strikeouts, his pitches were literally unhittable despite the high altitude.
Gausman's splitter is unreal and unhittable when it's working the way he wants it to. Speaking of which Pitching Ninja has a great video with Gausman speaking above it.
Gausman was hitting bottom of the zone 4 seamers enough to keep them honest too. Low 4 seamer for a strike or splitter that bounces off the plate is a tough spot to be in.
Mexico City is higher than Denver by a decent margin 2240M, vs like 1600M pitching there would be a complete nightmare lol. There were two absolutely INSANE strike calls in the Pirates game one for each side (2nd game of double header) , but man they weren't close. Robo Umps , or at least umps using goggles that display the strikezone for them needs to be implemented. Edit - Love seeing Bednar, his delivery continues to mess with hitters that 96-98 mph seems to get on them really fast, people are very late vs it a lot.
@@PitchingNinjaVideos yes he is. He stuff is literally like the mlb the show. It is wild to image watching those pitches in the box look like clear balls and a 16 in break back for a strike twice in row same pitch crazy. Imagine if he could be a starter with this stuff kinda like they tried last year.
As a Reds fan seeing Greene, Lodolo, and Ashcraft mentioned nearly every start gives me a little bit of hope.
Big fan of all of them.
Yes!!! Hicks was on fire last night! Go cards!
Had Lynn, Kershaw, Eovaldi, and Gausman all go in my 12 man fantasy league which saved my matchup this week!

1:39 good to see baez making midseason adjustments
Always nice seeing Dick Mountain throw 69s
Always a great day when pitching ninja posts his daily recaps

It's usually working. His issue comes when he can't keep them honest with the fastball.
Gausman in my opinion has the most unhittable splitter
100%
Totally agree with you! It's cartoonlike
jhoan duran 🤔
Ohtani is up there but Gausman's is elite

it’d be cool to see one in la paz, it’s like twice as high if i recall
@@ajkfala lol be great for hitters, but people would be out of breath, I think the pitch clock their could kill some players lol.
Umps wearing AR goggles? Never heard that before. Interesting.
Classic Javy Baez swinging at a slider that potentially was never a strike. Not sure why any pitcher would ever throw him a strike.
Dick mountain still spinning that pill, gotta love the crafty vet.
YES I LOVE GAUSMAN SO MUCH
I love Lance Lynn talking shit as he pitches his team to their ninth straight loss…😅
Lance is just playing his own game😂
Hahaha good point. I think the nut grab is a little ridiculous. Knowing that he is not helping his team win makes me warm inside.
I was watching that cardinals game. When hicks struck betts out looking. I said this will be on pitching ninja. Those pitches are nasty.
He's so crazy talented. When he's on, he's one of the filthiest pitchers on earth.

this is the most soothing "how do you like that pitch motherf**ker?!" i ever heard.😅
Is Gausmans grip a change up grip? Doesn’t look like a normal splitter grip
Good stuff.
Great vid!
GAUS DID!
its also hard af to spin the ball in mexico city cause seam effects are diminished
Ninja...do you see anybody the mariners might target for a starting arm with Robbie out for the year?
There is a proper way to frame and some umpires don’t like when a catcher tries to pull balls into strikes in a less than subtle way.
What’s the FanDuel code lol
Sorry--it was on the app and site. I'll be sure to include more directions if you need them next time! I think it'll be an every week thing now.
Bailey Ober is a dawg
Seems like a bunch of umps had terrible strike zones yesterday
I find it interesting how Lodolo has an amazing 13 K/9 but somehow also has a terrible 13.7 H/9 ….
How is this even possible!?!??? 😭
Anybody else rather watch rich hill pitch than some young buck throwing 100?
I honestly don't think there's a more fun and interesting pitcher to watch rich now than Rich Hill.
Some of these strike calls were fairly egregious. Let's bring in the robo-umps already.
Maybe Lynn should wait till his era gets below 5 before holding two balls at once 😂
So bummed Boston let Rich Hill go.
Maybe all that swagger and junk grabbing brought the negative karma to Lance
Might be!
I don't mind playing with emotion but the nutgrab seems over the top. Especially if you aren't helping your team win games.
I bet Rich Hill hates being called Dick Mountain. I could be wrong though.
Oh wow 26 seconds ago... keep up the good content!
Musgrove lost it imo. Throwing batting practice now.
now I need to watch a fifteen minute video of nothing but hits to even things out.
I'm only 4 minutes in and the collection of bad called strikes already is embarrassing. Bad day for the men in black.
Am I the only one who thinks Lance Lynn is immature and annoying?
Why does gausmans splitter move so much even though it’s spin rate is higher than most splitter?
103sinker.... holy hell
