Recently I have received some questions and comments on the using the null test. The null test can be an extremely useful tool to compare two audio files and sounds, but it is also one of the most widely misunderstood and misused tools. In this video I take you through some important information that will show you when you should and should not rely on the results of a null test. I really hope you enjoy the video.
As always, thanks so much for watching...

The Null Test is an awesome tool in both its precision and what we can learn from it when used properly. I was surprised by the result when the Track was moved out of sync by a single Sample.
Thanks for being so precious and scientific yourself. It helps me from being fooled by inaccurate claims, and that helps me make better decisions and get the best results from my gear. 🙏👍😎

The clarity of your explanations are as epic as your playing. This is a talent in itself.

Excellent educational video! I am a bit of a nerd and really enjoy getting into the nitty gritty of things like this.

You went through the whole pointless ass process to answer someone’s petty comment. You, sir, just became a personal hero. I already liked your style. But this was a step beyond.

Aren't the IRs time based as well? That would also negate the nulls, correct?

They are but if both paths that are being compared were identical in sound and timing they would still null.

@@JasonSadites I certainly don't see any reason to use a 2048 moving forward. For me, I couldn't distinguish between 1024 or the 2048. Great vid Jason.

If you made a video about every dumb comment that someone makes you would have over 1 million videos.

A truer statement has never been uttered. Although when it gives an opportunity for educating, it is worth it.
