He was the most charismatic player ever. He had something special, like an aura. I dont know if he knew, but he had it.

I Rembrandt following him round. Just watching him and his determination made you want him to win, he always looked like he wanted the win more than anyone else

1994 PGA Championship at Southern Hills... his drive hit the lady next to me 35 yards right of the fairway. I was standing behind the ball from 205.. and I saw nothing but trees and branches. He ask the Marshall to remove a 3 ft high sigh by one of the tree trunks.. and the marshall said no. so he called another referee over and he said yes. he hit a 2 iron with a 2 ft long divot..right were the sign was and hooked it 30 yards or so onto the green.. started walking..looked at the 1st marshall and said.." I ask you to remove sign...now you must put plaque"

My memory of Seve was being one of the first in the Ryder cup to drive the 10th at the Belfry. Then it became the norm.

Seve in his prime was actually a very straight driver. He just had the mentality to go for everything. His back problems set in very acutely in 1991 & shortened his career dramatically, he was never able swing the same & replicate the great years of the late 70s through to late 80s.

I went to see David Feherty Live, a speaking tour, and besides the whole thing being hilarious he had a good Seve story from when Dave still played pro. It was a doubles match play on the European Tour, and Feherty and his partner were 1 Up on Seve's and partner on the 17th. David, his partner, and Seve's partner have made the green on their 2nd shot, but Seve drove a deep bunker about 80 yards out that looks like it belongs in St. Andrews. Dave whispers to his partner "hey, we got this in the bag".
Seve takes out a 4 iron and full-swings. The ball blasts off the lip of the bunker and goes 45 degrees up. It goes the 80 yards, and he's on the green. Feherty is awestruck. He turns to Feherty and says "What? It's uh.. how you say in English.. bank shot, no? Bah."and walks away

Watched him at Wentworth practicing hitting driver out of a divot hole, every single player there stopped to have a look at Seve hitting it long and straight into the netting at the end of the field.

Should have interviewed Mac O’Grady. Got his game back, got him winning again past his prime with a bad back, got his short game back. Knew him more intimately than these 4. Probably only Ollie and the Ryder Cup crew.
Also should have got a European on there!

The man could draw the ball in a 27 mph wind bang on the middle of the fairway at 300 yards..

Why is it that when even describing a charismatic genius like Sevy Americans sound so boring?
