Lex thank you so much for this clip You're always a fair honest unbiased individual, and like your guest I have to admit as a Joe Rogan listener and follower of some of his guests on his podcasts, I have to say that most of the individuals in his comments are fans of his , which are of a biased comment thought or of research, so that being said I think Joe has millions of casual fans who are of sheep that are herded the popular way , which can be not the best decision. Again that's just my opinion though 🤝🏻
i think you should speak with dr john campbell from england, he has a doctorate in nursing i believe. this is his channel: ruclips.net/user/Campbellteachingvideos He has created educational content for nurses that is used in Africa to provide medical knowledge to remote communities, and train volunteers. As well as this, Dr. Campbell shares data and analyses trends in the current medical climate. I highly recommend you consider him as a guest for a future episode.
Lex has gotten so good at giving people a chance to share their opinion so that we can all hear it…and then holding their feet to the fire! (All while being open, respectful, but strong and principled)
Explaing this to @Lex Fridman is like trying to explain to a kid that his mom is not "cool" for taking/stealing toys from the store. Lex is convinced that the people telling him its not good for people to lie or steal, are the bad guys and not real mom fans or that they dont understand mom. cos he's a mom fan and he only gets nice toys so he doesnt see what the issue is.
I’m a Joe Rogan experience fan. I listen to most of the episodes so I can get a wide range of views. Sometimes I think “ Joe, you’re an idiot” and sometimes “ I never thought of that”. The show is important.
I used to feel this way, pre-pandemic. Nowadays it's just more and more red pill "distrust mainstream science" even though mainstream science is fundamentally main stream because of their repeatable RESULTS that wins great scientists and teams of science more grant money. That's literally how science works. It's fine to give fringe experts and scientists who give an alternate view that goes against mainstream science a voice, but you need to be educated enough to check them when they're spouting pure bullshit and Joe just....isn't. He tries, I'll give him that. But his weakness is that if he wants to believe something his checks and challenges immediately go out the window and it turns into an anti-government, anti-control rant. To each their own, though. He does have some great guests on.
The joe you're an idiot or Joe you're a hypocrite became to regular. I've actually moved onto lex as he seems more intelligent and will push back on his guests statements and opinions.
@@brennengodeen3796Most JRE fans think they’re skeptics about everything because they believe they’re getting some info others aren’t privy to. Yet, they take it full throated that vaccines are bad, trans people are ruining the world, the border is wide open, democrats are commis, and on and on and on. It’s embarrassing.
Same. Most people who listen to Rogan are skepticalish to begin with. No guest he had on reinforced any of my views per say. My thing was, I have school aged kids, I was also only 30 at that time and in pretty great health. Also, allergic or hyper immune reactions to lots of medications. There was a lot to weigh and consider.
Yea, Lex knew he was talking out of his ass. They also are friends, I wouldn't let somebody run their mouth about my friend especially when they have no idea what they are talking about.
@@CA-ly7my the process is the same, you are right, and i would like to elaborate if i could have a complete conversation, but one can get to the right conclusion through a wrong process of thinking, i was just joking, calm down, Destiny is one of the more reasonables leftists that i know, but he can get stuck in this loop of sophisticated and compex thinking to justify stupid believes
@@gregtavarez3322 ironically your wrong about the quote being not wrong. But you can have a different opinion just know ours will be right about the original quote being wrong wait waht
I can't stand Destiny, but this is a dumb comment. Research is not the same as reading, and a person who has actually done research would know that lmao. Jimmy Dore isn't the best source to be citing.
Lex is 100% right when he said "what does it mean to be a Joe Rogan Fan." Many users (including myself) casually listen to the content without necessarily being a "fan" or part of the "community". We just hear it out from an outsider's perspective and move on with our day.
I listen to Lex, JRE and Destiny. Destiny is right - there is a JRE type of listener - I know so many even at my work that base their entire opinions based on what ever the fuck Joe says. Sure it’s not every single listener but it’s a large fucking chunk of them. JRE fanboys are not as free thinking and individualistic as they think they are.
Big Joe Rogan fan, don’t believe the alt cure stuff he’s had on his podcast, I am a vaccine advocate, but I also do have a healthy cynicism about the origins of this thing. It’s behaviour is wild and suggestive of tampering. Also it’s origin is suspicious. Ironic that this “destiny”?? Bloke, accuses people of being tunnelled visioned and blindly following the crowd because “X or Y” said so. I think he’s projecting and seems to be extremely vulnerable to type casting, generalisations (bad ones) and believing EVERYTHING that someone of his political leaning should believe, which is probably a similar political lean to mine… but he’s not a free and honest thinker. He’d do well to cut the categorising everyone spiel.
@michaellong2439that's called loyalty. Maybe find some real friends that won't try to intellectualize not defending you when someone is throwing shade
@michaellong2439 Does Lex seem like the kind of guy who would never give Joe any resistance on anything? Personally, I don't think he would have any problem speaking his mind if he truly disagreed with Joe. Lex' body language is definately saying "Hey, that's my friend you're talking about!" I also don't think he appreciates Destinys stereotyping of "the typical Joe Rogan fan". Maybe he overreacted a bit, but he seems like a good friend.
Better lesson on what one public intellectual will say despite another public intellectual having a friend. The context of Lex's podcast is truth. Not friendship. The guest in this interview risks alienating power in order to promote truth. Don't get it twisted.
I listen to JRE while delivering mail. I don't just mindlessly absorb him. I agree and argue with him all day. Not a fan or a hater. Just a listener *Edit* bro all of you saying "you listen to him all day you're a fan" If I could listen to a podcast for 10 hours a day. Every day. I'd be clinically insane. I listen to like an hour at a time in between music. After years music and podcasts get boring so you have to mix it up.
He’s the worst of the worst Internet phenomena. He truly believes he can just research crap online and understand enough to debate literally anything. It’s like, bro, you have to filter all of that through personal experience. If you have zero personal experience on a topic, it doesn’t matter how much research you do. Your perspective is still going to be highly limited. I swear, nearly everyone who spends too much time online falls into that trap and it’s literally destroying the world.
Of you polled his fans "why don't you watch every podcast?" The number one answer is "I don't like this guest or that guest"....Joe doesn't raise sheep, he raises thinkers and he doesn't always agree with the thoughts of those that watch his podcast or even the guests he has on. It's dumb for destiny to pretend that he onky has guests on that he's in lock step with.....cause destiny is dumb lol
Liberals have to classify popular sources of information as disinformation because they can't stand that there are facts that support a differing opinion when they think they pray to the church of truth and justice.
@@scottwall8419 I mean his guests over covid definitely skewed towards anti-vax heavily and there was alot of push back on any pro Vax sentiments from Joe himself
@The Wandering M That is not me at all. I constantly push my self to listen to voices that I don't agree with, to get myself out of potential echo chambers. I think it is healthy and makes you learn things or gain perspective you might not get otherwise.
Lex has gotten so much more confident the last year and its amazing. His real personality is coming out. . The robot is learning how to become human. We're fucked
He was probably trying to hold back. It’s hard to be 100% agreeable as a grappler lol. Your whole philosophy changed, not to mention the confidence that you can kill the person in front of you
It's amazing how popular people like Destiny have mastered the art of talking for a long time without saying anything but somehow acting indignant about it; as if you've wasted his time for asking any questions at all.
Destiny: “I really do my own research but people who like Joe Rogan don’t do research. They are anti-establishment but I think the establishment just needs better communication.” Blah blah blah.
@@OhioTruPatriot I wouldn't say he comes off as very Russian. I've studied Russian language and literature, travelled in Russia and have known many Russians, and it's a different vibe. He's too placid for that, IMO, although if you're a Slovak you might have greater insight than me. My opinion isn't meant as an insult to either Russians or Lex. They both have their noble qualities. He really comes off as more Aspergers than anything to me. Which again isn't an insult, as I self-diagnose as Aspergers myself.
@@darrinito I guess we all have our kinks. Not sure what your reply has to do with my comment, but thanks for giving me an insight into the depths of your inner motivations. What we claim we're motivated by and what we're really motivated by are often at odds.
kinda intellectually dishonest when he pretends like the avg joe rogan viewer would be less likely to be anti-vax than the avg person in the US. Just defending your friends isnt respectable in and of itself lmao
@@jingleballs9935 yeah its crazy to think that someone who constantly platforms anti-establishment and anti-vax figures with almost no push-back could influence and harbor an audience of anti-establishment and anti-vax people lmao. Are you twelve?
Lex is becoming absolutely masterful at calling people out on BS! It’s amazing to see, years ago he was doing this podcast and did not have this skill at all, it’s something he’s consciously worked at. inspring
@No Chains he’s some twitch streamer who gets into the realm of debates with such intellectual minds as Hassan piker and this strange dude called vaush. Most of them just parrot the ideas of people who’ve actually spent their life studying and can rarely flex their own ideas enough to avoid it devolving into an argument.
I’m as pro-vax as it gets. I think this should get every experimental procedure, every booster and everything they push. I want to see as many people as possible to opt into as many procedures as possible. If one could take several per day, I think it should be offered free by the government. Please please please mmmm get your experimental procedures AS IS POSSIBLE.
I love the pushback that Lex gives to anyone who doesn't back their ideas up with evidence scientific or otherwise. He reads his guests well too. Well done Lex.
@@79dmcjr same can be said about your comment here too kiddo. i could even do what you did and make a wild claim and say "i bet you also thought joe rogan was taking horse dewormer to fight covid" like many on my side of politics (liberal) keep repeating even though it was not true lol. rogan's show has always really been him just shooting the shit with people and having uninformed discussions with people he finds interesting, he is not a super serious news journalist trying to get to the heart of the issues. not sure why people view his show this way.... thats like me listening to Tim Dillions podcast thinking i am going to listen to a Christian message...
I listen to Lex and Joe regularly, bu come on man, here Lex is just defending his friend Joe. Everybody knows what Destiny tried to express and Lex' only way to defend this and save his friend was to tell Destiny that he has no data on this.
@@79dmcjr Nah. It's just that the Rogan hate is completely unreasonable and ridiculous. Rogan is wrong about plenty, sure, but guys like Destiny(who I actually like tbqh) paint him in a very unfair light. They make him out to be some right wing figurehead when in reality he's a Bernie Bro. The Rogan hate to me really personifies modern politics complete inability to tolerate someone on your side having dissenting opinions about some subjects. Since Rogan isn't 100% progressive in all his stances he's basically Ben Shapiro in the eyes of progressives and that's just absurd.
@@i.c.wiener2750 yet its still a comment worth saying. data is important when making bold statements. thats like saying the vast majority of the LGBTQ+ community are groomers, then not providing any data to back that claim up. same thing here, if you are going to make a big and bold claim about an entire group of people you need to provide the data if you care about the "facts". other wise its just gossip and opinions, which i have no issues with until you try to pass those off as facts when it is convenient for you to do so.
@@BrandonHeat243 what do you find likeable about Destiny? He is an open cuckhold, personally I think people like that are pathetic and immoral. His politics also boil down to calling people he doesn't like a Nazi. He has also argued dumb things like, "Hitler isn't a Nazi," and a whole rant about lowering the age of consent. Open relationships are not open relationships when only the woman is getting dicked down and the man is getting no action from anybody. Personally I believe if you enjoy Destiny, you would either have to be dominated by a political ideology or be a mirror of his personality/identity.
But it's true that the majority of jre fans are against vaccines (me included) and fairly so! Am not a lab rat for experimental drugs. Going through the comments section on jre vaccine related videos makes that abundantly clear. Lex didn't have to pull the "data" card. I wouldn't want that to happen to me or the people I disagree with. Fair is fair.
@@valizeth4073 a vaccine needs to be tested for 5 years before being rolled out. These were emergency vaccines and were fast tracked. One of the reasons they were protected from any liability.
@@AfroGaz71 nah I understand what he's saying perfectly well. They're just very basic and not anything particularly intellectually challenging. When Lex said "but they didn't destroy anything though did they?" in response to the MAGA Trump election deniers I was dumbfounded. If this is what push back looks like, Lex should let his guests do the talking
Because he’s bias and someone is attacking his friend. I’m pro JRE but ironically the woke culture and COVID response narratives came from social media with zero rigor or data to back them up and that’s the issue with engaging in that type of conversation. SM is actually a form of manufactured consent that most people haven’t figured out how to navigate.
Strange he chose this topic to push back on, Joe Rogan is a public anti vaxxer and used horse medicine, not exactly a reach to say people decided to not get vaccinated because of him
Unfortunately even with research echo chambers form for both sides.... a wise man once said " you may not be as right as you think... you can just explain your point of view better than the other side"
True but I like to say “when I am weak, I ask you for freedoms, because that is according to your principles. When I am strong, I take your freedoms, because that is according to my principles” I’ll let you assign which party/side to which part of the statement pertains
Anyone else getting tired of podcasters going over the same topics over and over again. It's not that the topics are irrelevant, or even important but at this stage they have nothing more interesting to explore and the whole podcast format is choking out other forms of creative expression.
sure but there comes a point when someone is just actually right, and the echo in the chamber is simply reality the “rightness” of almost everything isn’t about opinions, it’s about facts, data, and evidence, so no matter how better you explain your point of view, if you don’t have the above mentioned to support it, you are still wrong the con was convincing people that their opinions can overrule facts, and the conmen are the ones feeding the “right” opinions, 9 times out of 10
I love how Lex has grown into one of the most reasonable voices on the Internet and holds his guests accountable for their hyperbolic BS, regardless of “side”. Good job, Lex! Thank you!

I like your comment. Destiny fan? Seek help, the guy is a tool. He has not one opinion that is not in line with the corp media narrative. Unoriginal, playing it safe for his streaming career. I guess if you need some personal bias affirmation he's good for that. But to sit with Lex and spout his hatred for those who disagree with him, smooth brain all the way. That's sad because he's a father, he might as well do the liberal thing and abandon it.
I am a joe rogan fan. Imo JRE is the best show ever. You can learn a lot of things in a lot of topics. From astrophysics to rappers and gladiators. I appreciate the show so much and enjoy it.
Not the best imo because early joe was alot of him not wanting to establish a side he was on so he was on the fence about many issues. But now with the Trump support growing as well as CNN trying to paint him as sickly evil. Joe has established himself as middle right leaning. When presidents get kicked off ballots we are heading to civil war.
Sounded like he almost said motherf***** after destiny's response to that... had to rewind it about 10 times... was SOOOO hoping Lex would break character, lol.
The moment he says “hmm pharmaceutical companies, i’m not sure (if they made mistakes)” that is a dead giveaway that he is not looking at the last 3 years honestly
I'm not sure is always a valid answer, especially when a lot of data is yet to be seen. Joe Rogan on the other hand takes guests word for it when it comes to negative things about the vaccines and pharmas, while he has Jamie double check everything positive a guest might say (like the guy from Australia). Rogan defends his view with "that is what someone told me", but when researchers, scientists and doctors contradicts the views of someone with an agenda or without a degree has told Rogan, he needs it double checked. That, and that he still defends Alex Jones. Rogan has some of the best podcasts episodes out there, but he is a strong advocate for those that think the corona virus is man made, a hoax or that all you need are vitamins. Hopefully he will go back to the way it was before covid.
Destiny brought up Robert Malone being anti Vax but neglected to bring up people he brought on that were pro Vax like Michael Osterholm and Rhonda Patrick. How convenient
He's the type of leftist that just dismisses anyone that doesn't agree with him as "disingenuous". They are an incredibly toxic bunch that use logical fallacies to fool the average public and gaslight smarter people.
Over all joe rogan has been far more anti vacc and pushed some very questionable if not outright BS points as “research”. It’s ok to be a joe rogan fan but criticise him when he gets it wrong!
@Bad Omen No he doesn't. He had Sanjay Gupta, Josh Zepps, Rhonda Patrick, and Michael Osterholm all challenge him on the vaccine. The media only paid attention to Robert Malone so people that don't listen to his show think he just platforms antivax people.
@@billywashere6965 I could certainly post something intellectual and profound but since on this occasion - it's just a basic human vibe reflective response. Sorry for the disappointment 😂
Standing up for your friend or giving his friend a pass? The guest is right - Rogan was a significant contribution to covid misinformation He only had guests that peddled far right views on the virus and the vaccine. And then repeated brought up their debunked and unscientific views for 2 years, giving them further perceived credibility. These included head of the scam group the FLCCC Pierre Kory (who sold ivermectin at inflated prices), failed biology lecturer Bret Weinstein, not qualified enough to talk about epidemiology, virology or immunology and Robert Malone - who lied about his role in development of MRNA vaccines. The most basic of research would suggest Rogan should have vetted these guests. OR the most basic journalistic approach would be to have an academic to counter their points. He did neither. Real friends call out your bullsheit. Lex didn't do it here.
I am a Joe Rogan podcast fan. And I am able to decide what information I agree with or not. I am capable of making my own informed decisions. I am also a half liberal nerd surrounded by half woke friends. He has millions of fans from every walk of life who don't take his words as gospel.
You’re right…I found this guy to be wrong about so many things..especially when he basically says anyone against the progressive agenda is anti establishment…our establishment is supposed to work for us with compromise and doing its best to serve all not the other way around
"Joe Rogan spamming anti-vax shit is fine, because his fans are smart and make up their own mind". Ha. You're the only one on the planet unaffected by the media you consume huh?
@Linkirvana I mean, I got vaccinated. So I guess so. I skip over his conspiracy stuff and woke whining stuff now anyway because I don't want to listen to it anymore. But I never thought of his podcast as actually informative.
I have to laugh when I see people like him called "influencers", I get that that's the term but, sad for the people that are "influenced" by opinionated youtubers
I never took what he said serious, ever. Just listen to how passionately and with how much conviction he would defend his wife, the position he was in and the dynamic of their relationship. Even though, I knew, no matter what he said that he was dead wrong and it was a matter of time they split for ALLLLL the same reasons he so passionately would argue against.
He is very good on accumulating information, fairly good at arguing, using logic as a technique mainly to win the debate, but he is almost totally lost and have a complete idiots opinions.
Seems that way, and yet, this is exactly how consciousness and the human brain/neurological system actually works. It makes instantaneous categorizations about everything in its environment. Most of which gets filed into the "ignore" category.
That is true. But keep in mind that while Lex's categorization was less hyperbolic in its statement and thus easier to swallow, it was essentially also just an emotional categorization without data.
If we are referencing Joe then I wouldn't say very little. We have thousands of hours of him talking about everything under the sun so it wouldn't be hard to build a solid oppinion him or his beliefs.
Destiny Tactics 101: Speak fast, ramble incoherently, make valid points (actually non fact based opinions) and then turn to subliminal insults. Got it 👍🏼

The way Destiny feels about "Joe Rogan fans" is exactly the way I feel about Hasanabi fans. I'm sure he sees dumb people everywhere, but he loves to act like it's mostly the other side that's stupid.
At least most of the people who like Hasan like him for other (possibly valid) reasons beyond his political grifting. Joe Rogan doesn't really insist on telling his audience what to think however... (Except perhaps on the subject of marijuana).
Lol do you realize Hasanabi and Destiny disagree on most issues? Hasanabi is literally a socialist, destiny is a capitalist. Let's start with that one.
@@WhoFlungDung dude if destiny is "one of the only left wing people I can tolerate," perhaps you should get out more. Just because you have different political opinions than someone doesn't mean you are just intellectually superior to them.

This comment should be the top one on this video. Really showed his arrogance to think that he’s the only person in America who knows how to read a fucking study and weigh the merits of conflicting studies.
That's clearly a bad-faith misrepresentation of what he's saying. He's not saying that his ability to research is above everyone else's; he's criticizing a specific group of people who dilute the word "research" from reading scientific studies down to listening to an episode of a podcast. I know people like that, I guarantee you know people like that, and they're just as obnoxious as he's describing.
@@chrisberry7640 he tossed 11 million Joe Rogan listeners into that basket is the problem. Something about Lex just draws you in…then he starts talking and you realize how you don’t know shit. He’s fair…funny without trying to be. He just seems like a genuine down to earth guy that has a fascinating outlook on the important things in life.
The point of Joe Rogan and Lex Fridman is an exploratory discussion with the guest on why they think what they think. Not every talk show format needs to be a contentious debate to settle something. There's different paths to knowledge other than debate. Doesn't mean Joe and Lex are giving easy interviews, that's not their format
I disagree with a lot of both of their takes but i listen because the guests and how well the convo stays on topic about important shit. I wish joe was more aggressive and attacking some ideas a bit more and research futhur but i think lex does a great job of that
@@mistermanter these days people feel the need to "attack" ideas they disagree with, instead of coming at it from a "curiousity" standpoint, why do you think that, have you considered this other angle. Most people "argue" to be right, not to be curious. In an interview, as opposed to a debate, There is really no point of arguing to be right because you already think you are right, so the point of the interview is to get inside that person's head, not pushing your own ideas that you already know.
he said people say do their own research but in reality they DONT, Destiny said he does his own research and pull up studies when he debates. Damn brother do u even english
I find it odd that Destiny says experts need to speak up and communicate, all the while during the last 2.5 years, those experts that tried to do that (like the Great Barrington trio for instance), got silenced.
by silenced you mean got generally shunned by the scientific community for being an un-scientific "declaration" directly sponsored by a libertarian climate change denier group.
The same Destiny says experts are afraid to speak up, calls it a conspiracy theory if you point to political influence and regime flavour in science - both of which are very real.
Another example of a person with blue hair being completely detached from reality and hating anyone who might disagree with them. Which comes first …. Delusion or hair dye?
Destiny streams like 4 million hours a day. You can literally see him talk to people who assert things without evidence. Now, because you haven't seen it, it didn't happen?
When destiny made that statement he was referring to how people talk about vaccines. When talking about broadly recognized social phenomenon, I'm sure he would argue that we can take certain pieces of knowledge to be true. We don't need data driven evidence for every single claim we make in a conversation, but the more controversial/technical you get, the more that data is going to be necessary.
He is that standard know it all at the bar/pub. Sargon, Vaush, Destiny etc. have all made careers of being experts in almost every aspect of life, it quite amazing actually, even people with 130+IQs that studied beyond a Bachelor’s level at elite schools only have enough time to become experts at a couple things. But guys like Destiny, Vaush, Sargon etc. have an intellect so off the bell curve they are able to be experts in whatever the days news is, quite remarkable and we should all appreciate it 😉
Destiny’s point up front made me mad. Those reasonable questions were asked up front, and big tech banned people from talking about it, so of course the only way to ask was to go to the corners of the Internet where people happened to be talking about outside the box medicines.
Not only that doctors lost their licenses for speaking out against the lockdowns, trying medicine that wasn't recommended by the CDC that worked and being speculative about the effectiveness of the vaccine. Of course they didn't speak out they were afraid of losing everything. This guy has amnesia. Just 2 weeks ago a head of phizer admitted that they lied about the effectiveness of the vaccine and how it wasn't going to stop transmission. They never tested if it did or not.

He has created educational content for nurses that is used in Africa to provide medical knowledge to remote communities, and train volunteers. As well as this, Dr. Campbell shares data and analyses trends in the current medical climate.

It was JRE that was responsible for my personal development for approaching everything with skepticism and question everything.

Not the best imo because early joe was alot of him not wanting to establish a side he was on so he was on the fence about many issues. But now with the Trump support growing as well as CNN trying to paint him as sickly evil. Joe has established himself as middle right leaning.

The guest is right - Rogan was a significant contribution to covid misinformation
He only had guests that peddled far right views on the virus and the vaccine.
