In my opinion, one of the few players to truly master a large drumset. Besides a few modifications (extra snares, lower toms extras or 3 floor toms), Simon's setup seems to stay extremely consistent for a long time now. His sound is so full as he can spread the resonance over a range of toms an get a dynamic range akin to a symphony orch along with melodic choices. He also uses clear ambass top and bottom, a choice most players don't use because its hard to control but Simon goes for max resonance and makes it sound great. I see he is using his older Starclassics here which sound great as well.
