The whole launching the missile at the helicopter getting ride of the loose ends and also the chip that was installed to see if it worked and hit it's target worked and also getting destroyed in the process said that's the only one that was created.
One shot story was mentioned in season 2. Reacher mentioned that he met with the Rifleman after the events on season 1. I like that they can do whatever they want. I want a new story, new stories. I hope they surprise us with something good.

It can't be One Shot. There is a scene in one of the early episodes of season 2 where Reacher mentions that it can't be Barr (from One Shot) picking off the special investigators, bc he already encountered Barr, who now "owes him". This basically asserts that, within the canon of the series, the events of One Shot have already taken place.
I absolutely love Reacher! I have not read the books but the show is so good. The whole cast has been outstanding....Alan Ritchson plays him to a T. The funny thing is I hate watching violent shows but with this one the violence is always warranted. please keep this show going! 10 seasons would be fine with me!
I like the show and Ritchson as Reacher is good. A little rougher and a little more rogue would be good. TC nailed the attitude for Reacher, and exceptional fighting, but not ominous in size. A few things the series needs to refine: The team, Neagly is fine, the others, adios. The 110th was the premium level of MP’s, needing to investigate crimes committed by the highest trained soldiers in the military, such as Delta, and other Special Operator Groups. Therefore the team had to have skills above that level to capture that level and live. All need to be skilled operators. Second, Don’t recycle to many characters that reacher meets and helps. He is like Cain from Kung Fu, wandering the earth righting wrongs by any means necessary. Show his unscrupulous side, gaining weapons, vehicles, money, etc fro killing people who need killing. Wardrobe, quality Church’s shoes, get them to sponsor. He always knows the time, with no watch. He buys fresh clothes at hardware and thrift stores and throws away the old stuff. Cheap motels, greasy spoons, the super combo breakfast platter. He hates driving and is not the best at it. Everything else, the very best, marksman/sniper, fighter, hand to hand combat, sleuth, and so on. Principled, loyal, curious. Build the depth of his character. This series is a good start, but needs more grit and more violence. He’s Jack Reacher, not Ethan Hunt, Jason Bourne, John Wick, or Robert McCall. More John W Creasy (without the booze), Buford T Pusser, or the panache of Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman. Writing needs some great one liners. “Remember, you asked for this”. Grit, more Grit, that is Reacher and Ritchson can get there. We should feel your quiet confidence in every scene. No need to explain to everyone what the bad guy is doing. This isn’t Scooby Do. My 2 Cents from a diehard Reacher book fan and faith in the series having room to evolve.
Ik Paul included One Shot as a possibility (a low one but still), so I just wanted to state that if it does get adapted for any season in the future, it will be set in the past 100%. In S2E1, O'Donnell (Shaun Sipos' character) says, "-maybe somebody...like _James Barr_ ?" I don't remember Reacher's response but it's something like "Barr's taken care of. I ran into him a year ago" followed by O'D saying, "Jesus". Hence, One Shot occured before between S1 and S2. Personally, I'd be happy if they skipped the adaptation the two books whose previous adaptations starred Tom Cruise (i.e. One Shot and Never Go Back).
If you’ve ever read any of the books in the Reacher series you’ll have a pretty good idea of what’s out there for the show to pick and choose which storylines they decide to use. Other than that, from the narrators description of Jack Reacher….this Alan Ritchman is much more of a match for Jack than Tom cruise could ever be. Reacher is a beast….cruise is 5’7” maybe 170lbs and an oddly hyper human. Rickman/Ritchman whichever has shortened his life for the role by gearing up HARD. Even his 6’5” 280lbs++ frame can’t sustain that amount of ripped muscle mass. I just hope he can keep himself out of the Hollywood politics and continue to be reacher.
Help me out here, please. I'm yet to read the books, but I've heard a lot of this about Tom Cruise's Reacher, and I'm having a hard time figuring out why is it so important how big he is? I'm not talking about the accuracy of the adaptation, which is a totally fair demand of the original fanbase, I'm talking about how it effects his personality, and why is it so big of a deal, other than being an opportunity to make jokes about it. They could've portray Tom Cruise way bigger than he actually is, there's plenty of tricks to do that on film, but I assume, they chose not to. It could be because Cruise is kinda famously short, so it could become a distraction, but who knows. Of course there's an entirely different conversation about him being casted mainly becuase of his stardom, but to his benefit, he could and did come off as a "dangerously smart" person in the role, which - at least in my understanding - is Reacher's most important feature. I'm not saying Ritchson is not good at said department, in the first season he also had some fairly sofisticated dialog, but here in the second, they didn't try very hard to make him the brains of the operation. There was some properely timed sarcasm to it, like those moments when he made the situation awkward being a total meathead, it showed self awareness, but still, I missed a lot of the intellectual side of things, and didn't care so much about his size.
@@empireofthewolves9881 all I can say is I hope so. He seems to be a good man in personal interviews and I really like him as jack reacher, but not so much he should suffer medical conditions due to being Jack reacher. Dude is big to begin with. I’ve heard 6’5” 205lbs in season 1….then went on to stack another 30lbs of muscle for season 2. Tons of pizza and working out. (And small doses of trt apparently. Absolutely not against trt especially for the older male who isn’t producing it like he had when younger. Since the dawn of history the world loves the story of the “fountain of youth”. Who would’ve known it came via a drs skin cream!!! Lol
I'm pretty sure they're gonna want to ride the wave on this one and get as many out of Ritchson as they can before he gets lured away for some huge movie project. I'm predicting season 3 comes out this year and they film 4 and 5 back to back for next year.
We've watched both seasons of Reacher with Alan Richtson and have enjoyed both. So far, season one far surpasses season two - not only the story content but the action as well. Was very disappointed in the last two episodes of season two...both were under 40 mins long and seemed to be rushed just to finish, like it was caught up in the writers strike. Hoping season 3 will be better thought out and provide a stronger/longer showing.
Ok, so it’s not just me. I felt like everyone’s relationship was more believable in season 1 than season 2. Even though it was his team, I just didn’t feel the chemistry. I don’t feel like Alan needed to get any bigger. Made it difficult for him to run. They even teased him about it during the season. I’m praying season 3 goes back to just Reacher as the main character in a new town. We shall see!
I always liked "Worth Dying For". Central mystery knda became heavy subject matter, but the series in general tended toward more twisted hidden intrigue as it progressed - good way to ramp it up. Give it some True Detective vibes and, viola, best season of TV ever.
I loved season 2 with the twists, while similar to season 1 it told a completely different story, I'm hoping they continue the hobo life style it suits Reacher as a character the most
The chopper scene was a bit unbelievable. I couldn’t believe that the four of them, two who’d bean tortured and the other two beaten bloody, went back to get more bad guys and survived the chopper scene. You’d think they all would have been sucked out the open back door instead of having to be pushed out.
The book was obviously amazing, and the helicopter part of the book was so much better sounding, and they should've gone with that. My opinion but still a amazing show
@@leafmagic1106 Still, it was slanted back part down (made throwing the bad guy out so much easier) so they would have needed super balance to stay on their feet and Reacher holding on to her and that bed right over the edge without sliding out is highly unlikely.
I think they'll do Without Fail next. As it features Neagley and that will create some continuity with returning cast members. It's also different from the first 2 seasons as he's technically working for the Secret Service, albeit it temporarily.
35 seconds in, I stopped. No spoilers for me! Love this series immensely! Started reading the books. Does anyone have a recommendation either way: reading the books in the order that they were written, or in chronological order? TYIA!!
Season 1 & 2 was filmed in Ontario Canada. December 2023 was very warm in Ontario. No snow in December but January, we started to get snow and very cold.
I hope the stories One Shot and Never Go Back at least happened in the Amazon Reacher universe. They’re great stories. The movies are honestly great too.
@@davidjackson2832 I think both movies really have the heart of the books much like both seasons of the show. Even Tom Cruise has the perfect attitude and charisma. Only really issue is the size thing but even the author said he didn’t care about that.
With well over twenty books to choose from it could go anywhere and with a large gap between the books s1 and S2 it could go back or forward. With only two data points it's not possible to say. The only two I would doubt is the ones the Cruise movies were based on.
I haven't read any of the books but R2 was a fun, if a bit predictable, season. At least the finale, unlike some other shows (I'm talkin' to you Fargo 5), tied everything up, the bad guys got what they deserved and was satisfying. Looking forward to R6!
I feel like people who complain about the seasons being the same don’t realize the books are probably the same as well like reading the terminal list series by Jack Carr all are pretty much the same same with Lincoln lawyer series I’m reading now very similar
I have read all the books, and their are not a lot of characters in Die Trying. I have heard through groups that the next series will be based on Purseder. It was a good book. And they have said they will not make either the Cruise movie novels will not be made into a show.
As someone who has read 61 hours, it's definitely one of the books I wouldn't personally go with, but I love the Reacher character so I would love to see anything they put on screen. In order of favorites, I would love to see Echo Burning, Worth Dying For, Persuader, Die Trying, or Tripwire. If they Die Trying or Tripwire, they easily could go in order from Die Trying to Tripwire to Running Blind to create another trend of reoccuring characters. Nonetheless, I am beyond excited to see what they do next! Nick Santora has done a remarkable job of making Reacher be Reacher and can't wait to see what they choose!
Personally, I'd like to see less body shaving and the addition of all the scars, including the main jawbone one. Reacher's body tells its own story and that's missing so far.
@@RaginYetiGaming Neagly is part of the 110th and appears in several books. Roscoe is a single story character (as I recall), but we share the same idea as far as keeping the story characters new and story specific. Even if we like certain characters, I too liked Roscoe. Enjoy the show.
With Amazon putting a gentle spin on the books, I think Tripwire is a relatively safe one and Reacher has a love interest. (Not Carla Dixon.) However, if they do the movie like the books, there is alot of emotional violence as it deals with the Vietnam War which I imagine they will modernize to Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan which do not same gut punch as Vietnam does.
A few things don't make sense in his migrant lifestyle, one was explained a bit in S2, that he sleeps anywhere he can find some space, but traveling on buses is completely ridiculous for a 6 foot 5 and 235 LBS man. the buses do not have that much leg room and side width.
It’ll be super interesting to see Reacher settle down in a home for a change. Having not read the books I suspect the unsavory military brass could track him down showing why he can’t in one place too long. Looking forward to season 3.
Read the books! Military brass tracking him down has nothing to do with it. But don’t bother reading the most recent books written by Lee Child’s brother. They’re crap.
@@davet5780I read the latest one and they seem okayish at best. Less reacher more girl power, I get why you think that since most of the action are implausible in the new one.
61hrs was my immediate guess because of snow and the bus of seniors. Both are starting points for 61hrs However with the changes they made to Bad Luck's setting, who knows? Could be any book really
Would prefer book 3 to book 2. As you said, Hook could be a memorable villain. His Vietnam backstory would be intriguing--the idea of DEVELOPING a villain would be new for the series. That, along with the CSI-ish forensics it could involve as the story evolves (and the fact that, when you read the book, it really ISN'T obvious how Hook comes to exist until you are well into the story. The series could mislead us like Child did). You still have NYC on top of Key West, so... yeah.
Vancouver BC in winter is exactly what Key West, Florida looks like. Yes indeed... get flipflops and yer swimsuit and on head out for Vanc's wintry palms. Uh huh.
If the old guy at the end of season two turns out to be the next bad guy itll be because of the way Reacher put the blank on him on the bus .. poor old mush was probably lonley and Reacher just shot him down like he was Luftwaffe
This is a bit of a side note i just realised, famous spy's agents ect, always start with the letter 'J' - james bond, jack baur, jack ryan, jack reacher, jason bourne....
I was happy not to see Roscoe this season. Don't get me wrong, I loved the character and the actress, but the "not looking back" suits the character better.
I feel like 61 hours would set a good story, especially if they're in Canada filming already. My thought after the final episode was they would start season 3 off with him getting off the bus somewhere and he's got a serial killer to catch for example lol
Can we please get some True Detective season 4 heavy spoilers content? Seems like a show you can do ‘theory time’ on unlike Reacher where we know Shane Langston is the antagonist in the first episode of season 2.
I have spent the last two weeks off work due to the flu and I have watched both season 1 and 2 of Reacher and as good as season 1 is 2 is just better far more story telling. Where they go with season 3 is anyone guess but I can’t want and don’t care as long as it great story telling.
I thought the first season was a little smarter and better acted. It also had some romantic tension. The second season was just a smash-up really. Even his romantic interest just threw herself at him without creating any tension at all. I'll still watch season three though.
I am so glad for Reacher. I read all the books and this does not disappoint. My GF and my grand daughter love this show also. I am sick to the point of throwing up in my mouth a little about all the woke shows being forced on us that... lets face it... no one watches (at least not for more than a few minutes)
Update! Amazon have revealed that Season 3 will be based on the book The Persuader!
The book is _Persuader._ No "The."
Just "Persuader", not "The Persuader". It's named after the Persuader shotgun but the novel is just called "Persuader".
Great book. Moves well. Good characters. Action heavy.
This is a great book, very happy with this decision, but please do tripwire next.
Who's going to play Paulie? Where are they going to find someone _twice the size_ of Alan? ...since Andre the Giant is not around anymore...
All the books you mentioned are great. Give us 10 seasons of Reacher because this is series has so much material and it's never gonna get old.
too bad that this show has too little with the books
Reacher has been awesome, can’t wait for season 3!
Alan Ritchson is absolutely brilliant as Reacher and I can’t wait for season 3.
Doesn’t matter what book they choose, there all great! Totally excited, Reacher is boss!
That mission impossible fallout sequence with chasing the helicopter was great with Reacher. Also the whole loose ends theme playing out this whole season is amazing. The whole launching the missile at the helicopter getting ride of the loose ends and also the chip that was installed to see if it worked and hit it's target worked and also getting destroyed in the process said that's the only one that was created.
Could someone explain to me how he grabbed onto a wheel towards the front of the helicopter and then got himself to the back ramp?

There was actually a show in the early nineties, filmed in key west about key west.
Running Blind, Tripewire, Die Trying, The Enemy, ect
REACHER 🔥👑
❤❤ Love this show.
“Persuader”: To my knowledge, the only novel ever named for a shotgun.
61 hours: really good storytelling
Personally, I'd like to see less body shaving and the addition of all the scars, including the main jawbone one. Reacher's body tells its own story and that's missing so far.
Loved the show, totally open the next story, however would like to see Reacher reunite with Roscoe.
Nope, nope, nope, no recycling too many characters. Love’em and leave’em the Reacher way. No attachments, except Neagly.
I respect your opinion, however you basically said the same thing I did, except you named Neagley and I named Roscoe.
@@RaginYetiGaming Neagly is part of the 110th and appears in several books. Roscoe is a single story character (as I recall), but we share the same idea as far as keeping the story characters new and story specific. Even if we like certain characters, I too liked Roscoe. Enjoy the show.
Ritchson was clearly hired purely on size. He takes wooden acting to a whole new level.
Bullshit. Have you read the books? I have and he brings the Reacher character to life. He’s exactly like the character from the book.
He will not settle down! Tries in Tripwire but doesn't work!!!❤️🤩
@@davet5780I read the latest one and they seem okayish at best. Less reacher more girl power, I get why you think that since most of the action are implausible in the new one.
This season was awesome, and it was for me it was Lee Childs best book
never forget
BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE
61hrs was my immediate guess because of snow and the bus of seniors. Both are starting points for 61hrs
However with the changes they made to Bad Luck's setting, who knows? Could be any book really
Would prefer book 3 to book 2. As you said, Hook could be a memorable villain. His Vietnam backstory would be intriguing--the idea of DEVELOPING a villain would be new for the series. That, along with the CSI-ish forensics it could involve as the story evolves (and the fact that, when you read the book, it really ISN'T obvious how Hook comes to exist until you are well into the story. The series could mislead us like Child did). You still have NYC on top of Key West, so... yeah.
Do not like Hook at all!!!
@@francespresnall721 he'd be a great villain for a lot of reasons.
Ethan Hunt, oh wait, damn!😊
Awesome! Can't wait for Season 3!!
I was happy not to see Roscoe this season. Don't get me wrong, I loved the character and the actress, but the "not looking back" suits the character better.
A better book to follow up with would be "Worth dying for"
I feel like 61 hours would set a good story, especially if they're in Canada filming already. My thought after the final episode was they would start season 3 off with him getting off the bus somewhere and he's got a serial killer to catch for example lol
Read the books and the guy playing reacher is how you expect him to look
Die Trying into Tripwire would be the most interesting way to go IMO.
Ace Paul!! Teacher does not have millions , he gave it all away
I wish the story lines would be closer to the book (s)
Can we please get some True Detective season 4 heavy spoilers content? Seems like a show you can do ‘theory time’ on unlike Reacher where we know Shane Langston is the antagonist in the first episode of season 2.
It would be badass to see Scott Adkins as a main bad guy in one of the seasons lol
there is one book, where he does a job digging swimming pools
I would love to see Alan Ritchson play Batman
I have spent the last two weeks off work due to the flu and I have watched both season 1 and 2 of Reacher and as good as season 1 is 2 is just better far more story telling. Where they go with season 3 is anyone guess but I can’t want and don’t care as long as it great story telling.
Any idea what poster in the thumbnail is from? I think it's an edited version of the S1 poster. Help a guy out, please!
I am sick to the point of throwing up in my mouth a little about all the woke shows being forced on us that... lets face it... no one watches (at least not for more than a few minutes)
the book Blue Moon starts on a bus with an old man as well im pretty sure
