    Yes, this really did happen on Christmas Day in 1914 during WW1. There were several similar Truces at that time along the Trenches. Sainsbury's is a supermarket chain and they made this Christmas Advertisement in 2014 in Remembrance of the Truce that happened exactly one hundred years before.

    Yes, this would make anybody cry I have read about this event many times I heard they shared coffee and even a little toast of wine it was a very special occasion Christmas WW1 was called the Great War the war to end all wars go figure on that one. FIG you are the Best!

    This makes me think of those poor soldiers in the trenches of Ukraine on both sides. Very little mercy is ever shown by the Russians even to their own troops never mind enemy troops. God help them.
