❤ This was so cool, guys. I was born 3 years after this album was released. My father still has this album in his collection. He bought it when he returned from Vietnam. Such a nice song. 🌹⚘🌹

Ginger Baker was the drummer in Cream. Cream had just split. Traffic had just split temporarily. They only lasted one album and did a brief tour of the states. Eric started his solo career and Winwood went back to Traffic

Here are some fun facts: Eric Clapton wrote this song, and it is the first song for which he wrote all the lyrics.
Steve Winwood sang lead, as he did with all of the Blind Faith songs. However, because this is a personal song, and a song that he wrote, Eric was afraid they would want him to sing it, so he made sure he wouldn't be the lead vocalist by writing it in a higher key than he could sing. He thought Winwood was a much better singer.
The song is about how Eric was becoming more comfortable with his life. He had just left Cream at the height of its popularity, and was looking forward to playing with Blind Faith. Eric called this a "song of gratitude." It was one of his first songs to explore spirituality, which he did on some of his solo tracks in the '70s. He said the message of this song was to "say 'thank you' to God, or whatever you choose to call Him, for whatever happens."
Also, regarding the album cover: According to photographer Bob Seidemann, who shot the cover, he had the idea but did not have someone to pose. While riding the London subway, he saw a young girl who would be perfect and asked her to pose for the cover. The girl's parents' gave her permission to pose topless for the cover, but the girl backed out. However, the girl's younger sister wanted to take her spot, and her parents' gave her permission to do so. Bob Seidemann called the image "Blind Faith", and Eric Clapton made that the name of the group.
ETA: Oh, Eric wanted the group to last longer; they ended up splitting up, after a difficult tour.

I was looking forward to watching their faces get a little bored and then lighting up when that uptempo guitar solo part kicks in. Paid off.

    "Eric Clapton was 24 ...".
But Steve Winwood turned 21 years old while recording this album.
Winwood was 15 when he joined The Spencer Davis Group.

You don't know Ginger Baker? One of the great drummers. Cream were the first supergroup. The 60s were the best, by far.

Clapton was God before 1969. Google “Clapton is God” for some context.
