Both of the big gags with Moses are priceless.
Oh well, Moses was going to break those other two original tablets as well, anyway. He just got a head start with one. Probably dropped those by accident, too, and paid off Joshua to change the story, so he wouldn’t be remembered as such a klutz. Swept it all into the Ark of the Covenant, and convinced everyone to not get too nosy about the actual contents.

"It's good to be the king."
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Gregory Hines, Pamela Stephenson, and Mary-Margaret Humes.
Music Enthusiast Fact: The music used in the "Jews In Space" segment was recycled into the Men In Tights (1993) number from Robin Hood: Men In Tights (1993).
That's Hot Fact: The vestal virgins (who took the oath of chastity) in Caesar's Palace in "The Roman Empire" segment were all Playboy playmates. Hugh Hefner appears as the pipe-smoking entrepreneur talking about his "centerfold" invention.
Delayed Sequel Fact: On June 7, 1981, just four days before the movie opened in theaters, Mel Brooks was interviewed by The New York Times and mentioned the possibility of a sequel. However it never occurred. Brooks produced a limited eight-part History Of The World: Part II (2023) television series.

See, the Queen's maid said, "If they're captured, they're hung."
    The Queen replied, "Not necessarily."
Now they made this same joke in _Blazing Saddles._ Being hung _could_ mean being suspended by the neck with a rope, but it could also mean being... well... endowed.
Remember, in _Blazing Saddles,_ there was that scene with one character who said, "Thank god, you alive! They said you was hung," and the other character replied, "And they was _right."_

    But what a great comedy.

There are two Caesars in this movie. The other is Sid Caesar. He’s the caveman Gunga. That just happens to be the guy who once got so annoyed with Mel Brooks during a writing session (because Mel wouldn’t shut up about wanting to go out and do something other than work) that he grabbed Mel, and dangled him out of a window (several stories up), telling him that was his option to go out if he wanted to. Mel, of course, quickly relented. That’ll sure motivate your work ethic. 😅

@@ariachanson01 Well, if Mel Brooks and Sid Caesar are telling the truth, then I am. Sid's brother David was also there, but I don't know his account of it (though he is reported to be who persuaded Sid to pull Mel back inside).
The only real difference in their accounts concerns what they were doing at that moment. According to Mel, they were already writing, and the room was getting stuffy. According to Sid, he was tired and hungry, having just finished a continuous day of performances that had started around 9AM, and (before even getting to any writing) wanted to relax, and enjoy some of the dinner he had ordered, when Mel starts in about wanting to go out.

Great reaction video. This movie is so funny. I might recommend that you watch Brooks in the remake of “To Be or Not To Be,” which also starred his real-life wife, Anne Bancroft. It’s very funny, though there are some serious moments in it as well. Brooks produced it, but it was directed by Alan Johnson, who choreographed several of Mel’s movies, including “History of the World.”

He's also in the Mel Brooks film, "The 12 Chairs" (1970). I am really looking forward to watching you react to every single one of those films you mentioned at the end. I did a search of your channel and noticed that so far, you've only reacted to one Jim Carrey comedy ("Bruce Almighty"). I also highly recommend "Liar Liar" (1997) and "The Mask" (1994). 😉

What a fun time we just had! This audience will keep you busy with comedies for a long time. You certainly have shown a harmony with Mel's humor, you were running ahead of some of the lines! That was so great.
I don't know of any other movies with Madelyn Kahn and dinosaurs. So this may be it.
"They'll be hung." If so that would qualify as a "big decision", which should give you the appropriate flashback to Blazing Saddles "They said you was hung. And they was RIGHT!" Also, hanging the horse along with the cowboy meant that the cowboy was "hung like a horse", an extremely deep joke underneath the absurdity shown in that scene.
"Walk this way" has always been an opening for some kind of humorous response. Example: "If I could walk that way I wouldn't need the talcum powder." Young Frankenstein preceded this film, 1974 vs. 1981.
Kudos that you got the Oedipus joke. And the Maurice Chevalier reference.
if you check the filmography of the cast you will find them to be big stars in movies, TV, and the comedy circuit at the time and in the future. This was jam-packed with talent that helped to make it great.
You will absolutely crack up at A Fish Called Wanda. Looking forward to more of your reactions, thanks so much for sharing. You are a delight.
