Blind Faith is one of the first super groups. Clapton and Ginger Baker from Cream. The great Steve Winwood from Traffic and Rick Gretch from Family. They had 1 album and 1 tour. I was lucky enough to see them 7/69 at MSG. Awesome show. The band Free opened up the show along with B&D and Friends. The ticket was for 6 bucks

when the 60's&70's was happening i don't believe we realized just how lucky we were to have
this level of talent from sooooo many different bands and artists which i don't believe will ever be repeated.
people don't seem to be near as creative now that we are bombarded with way too much and don't have the
need to create and think and dream as all these artists did.

They only did one album but all of the songs (except for maybe the drum solo song - depends on your tolerance for drum solos, LOL) are solid and worth a listen.

'Had To Cry Today' and 'Can't Find My Way Home' are standout songs from this album. Steve Winwood and Clapton are very close friends.
Clapton enjoys playing with friends and musicians he respects.

More Steve Winwood please. Blind Faith did one album and one tour. During their tour, Clapton began playing with their opening band, Delaney and Bonnie Bramlett. When the BF tour was over, Clapton went on tour with them and brought along George Harrison. The backing band of D&B became the core of Derek and the Dominoes, which recorded Layla and Other Love Songs, one of the great albums of all time. There are some amazing videos of Clapton and Harrison playing with Delaney and Bonnie. Here's a link to one, "Coming Home" -- ruclips.net/video/aazChqk4U-c/видео.html.

As always, the music part of their action is great but your words at the end of great as well. You pretty much describe myself quite closely, even though I am a six-year-old white dude. Musician for life. We all think about these things as we go through life don't we? And you said it quite well. I just have a feeling be fun to have a beer with you or whatever

A song that has gotten more spiritual meaning during the time and you can hear the gospel - influences on the piano, perhaps via Ray Charles Stevie Winwood being a huge fan.
Unfortunately the band was not given time to mature before they were thrown to a massive tour. All though the musicians had solid backround, especially Stevie Winwood and Eric Clapton felt that they weren't enough together, leading to uneven performances.

But they cut Gingers solo short ://

What a shame that this is the only album that Blind Faith made. Blind Faith consisted of Eric and drummer Ginger Baker from Cream, bassist Rick Grech from Traffic, and of course the legendary vocalist and keyboardist Steve Winwood, also from Traffic.

The song isn't about the Christian God or Jesus. Clapton wrote the song after reading a book about the Persian religion Zoroastrianism while kicking heroin. The book was given to him by The Beatles guitar player George Harrison.

not to get too far from the music - which this is all about! - but Spirit/God/what one prefers to call it is very different from religion. I think you're kind of saying that. Ck out "My God" from Jethro Tull some time

John 20:24 , says this is blind faith. Look.
25The other disciples told him, "We've seen the Lord." Thomas told them, "I refuse to believe this unless I see the nail marks in his hands, put my fingers into them, and put my hand into his side."
26A week later Jesus' disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then Jesus said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Take your hand, and put it into my side. Stop doubting, and believe." 28Thomas responded to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!" 29Jesus said to Thomas, "You believe because you've seen me. Blessed are those who haven't seen me but believe."
