    I just test drove both CHR and HRV last sunday but I have different experience. CHR is more responsive, quieter, and much better handling.
    CHR handling is very close to Subaru XV. HRV is totally not my type of handling.

    I test drove yesterday chr. I admit the seat is very comfortable for daily drive or long drive. It might not kick start that fast but for highway, i got to say it is fast and stable. Well, this car is not design for drag but rather practicality.

    I drove chr for a year now, and I love it. The one I have is a 1.2 Turbo. The noise from the engine is a lot lower then the video. Many people would choose over Hrv, Cx3 or Cx5. I must admit the price is a bit higher then others. But I enjoy the drive and style design so on. It handles well with TNGA and Sport mode makes the proformence boost, CVT is working well too. Bobby was right, those seats are very comfortable also a factor that I bought the car. I almost bought Civic but I bought Chr for my mum to have a better seating position and easier to get in and out of the car. Always love coupe and it is a coupe high rider.

    Thanks Bobby for the great review. Gotta agree with you on the comparison. It is a lifestyle vehicle that you are paying more for the style and being unique with the design of it. Whereas it is under the Toyota brand hence durability comes into the picture too. Those that purchased CHR, majority it is for the outlook of it although not much of a super bombastic features added into the Malaysia specs like the Heater Seat, Projector Headlights, Auto Parking Assist. Keep up the great work of yours!

  • @oumaniac

    CH-R is based on the latest Toyota platform (TNGA...shared with Lexus UX) with full independent suspension (rare for Toyota) - so the price is not so bad. Unfortunately the wheels got downgraded...

    The all black dashboard of the Hrv might be Malaysian market specific, because JDM Honda Hrv got brown tan leather dashboard which look much more atas.

  • @liewweijun6290

    Ur feet hardly fit underneath the seats of HRV because the fuel tank is located underneath it to provide more leg room for rear passengers and also, more boot space😃. Cheers

  • @ksy76
    @ksy76 6 лет назад +2

    Just chiming in, the CH-R seat and seating position felt superb to me. It feels like you're sat in a zero gravity massage chair and all your body angles are perfect. The ride really compliments the seats too, just the right amount of dampening when cornering or on a straight. However, the rest of the car is just like what Bobby says, very average.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  6 лет назад

      If they spec this car well enough, and bring in the Turbo engine, Toyota could position the CHR alongside the Harrier as the premium range of Toyota vehicles that offers lifestyle reliable motoring to Malaysians. But they specced it with a pesimistic manner, gave it a 1.8 generic mill and rather rudimentary specifications. It could've been a great car.

  • @francoisvola3611
    @francoisvola3611 5 лет назад

    When you're sitting in the back the Hrv, it has a smaller feet space under the front seat than the Chr, because the fuel tank is under the front seats, but it has a much bigger trunk space because of that!

    Hi bobby. Just one question..
    Hrv or Chr?

  • @ngyc6294
    @ngyc6294 6 лет назад +1

    I think the CHR's with the current drivetrain offering is merely banking on those wanting style over practicality. If it were fitted with the 1.2L Turbo, it would probably draw less flaks even with the higher price.
    With the compact-SUVs market heating up, any hints of when the Nissan Kicks (or the Qashqai) or even if the Hyundai Kona would be coming here?

  • @jonathantaycoh
    @jonathantaycoh 6 лет назад

    CMIIW but if im not mistaken the new gen Camry and CHR are both developed by Toyota USA instead of the regular Japan division, could explain the, design > practicality

  • @foonghh8878

    For safety purpose, the passenger shouldn't rest his/her head on the side of the door because in a side crash the side airbag will deploy within that area and if the passenger used that area to rest their head then it defeats the purpose of having an airbag there. Cheers

    I could be wrong, but I based on what I see in this video, these crossover doesn't offer more interior space than a City or Vios. Seem more like a jacked up hatchback, but I'm pretty sure people are not buying them for off road driving.... I guess whatever made crossover so popular is lost on me.

      Now new cars are very finely machined, generally dont have this issue apart from super high performance or high compression engines. Older engines are not as finely machined so needs a run in period.

Also, it not so much of the fan of the CH-R design inside out. But as I've mentioned in my review, gotta give it up to Toyota for making such a bold move. CRV is a higher base price and higher class, CRV compare to RAV4, the HRV and CHR are the same class, Both $22 base.
