Demoed this at Pax. Loved it! It’s crazy fun and looks like they have plenty of ways to adjust the game for any level of gamer. Super excited about this campaign! Launches on January 25! Everyone spread the word! And thanks guys for this video! Would love to see a play through or Round One!
The original came out in 1986. I had and loved the game, but don't know whatever happened to it. It's a grail game for me, to get back the original. Will definitely be backing this new version.
Same with me.. I had it in 1986 and played it often. In 2000, my parents moved and I was clearing out my old games and I noticed that Thunder Road was missing. I believe a friend borrowed it in the mid 90s, and my only theory is, that he never got it back. He's also that 1 friend that never joined any social networking, so i completely lost touch with him. It's a grail game for me as well, and I've always wanted a copy. I am really excited for this.
Curious how this one compares to Death Roads: All Stars. Obviously there are differences (like having a squad vs single car) but looking for a sense of how the game feels. I love Restoration Games and am trying to decide there's enough difference to warrant backing this one too.
This was absolutely a prototype, so I would imagine much nicer components that what we have on display here. I’m not sure if these vehicles are final or not though.
I believe the game itself is exactly the same. They pulled it so they could re-evaluate pricing, reward tiers, and stretch goals to incorporate early backer feedback.
I love Restoration Games, but this is gonna be a pass for me. I think Gaslands Refueled pretty much has the post apocalypse, Mad Max style racing game perfected
I do wish they had some kind of starter set for Gaslands. Just some templates and maybe some cards that are prebuilt vehicles. Bring your own hot wheels. I have Gaslands rulebook but I've never been able to break into it.
That game looks pretty cool, but I think the key element in this version is accessibility. The rules are streamlined and easy for anyone to sit down and play in 45m or less. I would start with a game like this one, and then maybe upgrade to gaslands down the road.
I just played this again this evening with a friend, and we had a blast. We played with the Choppe Shoppe content, which made things a lot more interesting. For the last bit of the game, it was just each of us with one car left! 🤣

Thanks for this, picked this up on a late Kickstarter from Game Steward thanks to this video.
Have you gotten your copy already then? Definitely let us know what you think when you play it.
Yep this looks like what I’ve been waiting for 🤙🏽

Super excited for this one. Played at paxu and it was epic. Def one to get and it’s fun for everyone.
Since there isn't a restoration of C64's Racing Destruction Set yet, I'll take it!
Ha! This may be the first C64 reference on our channel. 🤣
@@meeple I played so many good games on that system!
Loved that game! Made so many custum tracks.
I loved that game. Turn off the gravity for epic jumps. Just don’t land on a bomb lol.
On Thunder Road with Vendetta, when men battle meeples, one is all you can score!
Is there an actual play thru they do somewhere?
Closest we will get to a Mad Max game, maybe.

I have to admit, I’m not familiar with Death Roads: All Stars. There will be some playthroughs up in other channels soon though.
I hate to be “that guy,” but it’s a pet peeve for me. It’s 1 DIE, 2 or more DICE!
This game looks like it will be fun! Are those final components?
those components don't look final, I hope the miniatures of the vehicles will get a more distinct look.

@@meeple Well, it's not necesarry ofcourse, but giving them a distinctive look is always nice. Maybe we can see it in the stretch goals ;)
Some (but not all) final art, but these are hand made prototypes. Sculpts are not final.
Thanks
From what I am hearing, it sounds like you need the expansion to get the most out of the game? Is that the case?
If you want to play at a more “gamer” level with variable player powers and things like that I would recommend it.
Why did they pull the first campaign and what’s different about this one?
I believe the game itself is exactly the same. They pulled it so they could re-evaluate pricing, reward tiers, and stretch goals to incorporate early backer feedback.
Bummed I backed Car Wars, I think this actually looks like more fun.
I had more fun with this than I even expected. Crazy chaotic fun.
I backed BOTH! LOL! Big fan of both games.

Still hope they have a bit more interesting boards and cars in the next Kickstarter cause at the moment that looks a wee bit too bland for me.
Still looks like a Prospero Hall game they want $170 bucks for.
