king miller smith yes, but in reality good people do bad things for good reasons and bad people may do good things if they benefit from it. The characters are just so uncomplex and lacking any depth in the dark brotherhood of skyrim. Why is astrid even in the dark brotherhood and not just a hired killer because she doesn't care about sithis or the night mother. Complex characters make a good story. What is her reason for being in the brotherhood for the the money? Even in skyrim there shades of grey everywhere. There are even good vampires.
Yeah. I mean in this game, you can't help but to play rough and dirty and there's a lot of grey areas. But as for Astrid, maybe she's one of the playing factor why the DB in Skyrim is in shambles. I mean hell, even the other members care about the Night Mother and Sithis but damn Astrid doesn't even care if you're the Listener. She was like 'Nope, fuck you, i'm the leader here now go kill someone lol". At least in TESIV DB has its own morality and following the tennets. Overall, DB Questline in Skyrim is a mixture of under and overwhelming experience whereas the quest is point A to point B (you know, kill this then come back to me to get some gold) and the killing of the emperor which can be a potential of the downfall of the Empire.
king miller smith honestly, my favorite brotherhood quest is from oblivion when have to kill some guy in bruma and you can make it look like an accident. Skyrims dark brotherhood questline had none of that. Not to mention astrid is just an idiot. She actually thought that mero wouldn't wipe out the brotherhood if she gave him the dragon born. She orchestrated his son's death. She ruined his life so ofcourse he is going to want to destroy everything she holds dear too, meaning her so called "family". I'm not gonna lie the dark brotherhood quest line was awful compared to oblivion. I didn't even care when all the characters got killed off. In my latest playthrough i did the quest for mero where you destroy the dark brotherhood. It's not like are truely the dark brotherhood anyway except for cicero. It's actually alot better storywise.
You know, for kidnapping Vilkas from our own home, I have to say that those bandits were rather underwhelming. Leaving me with questions of how they managed that in the first place.
There's so much lore and stuff to learn in Skyrim (and Elder Scrolls as a whole), your videos are like an epic documentary that always has something new to tell.
Geno Breaker You can actually start a quest that lets you help the Empire destroy the Dark Brotherhood. You just have to kill Astrid in the cabin when you first meet her.
Jorge Cruz I know, but it's a couple short quests and you don't get some of the best items in the game that way. Cicero's clothes have unique slot enchantments and Wind Shear is arguably the most powerful sword in the game with 100% stagger. If you kill the Brotherhood, you get the Blade of Woe, but if you side with them it's possible to get two of the unique weapon. :/
Brandish (Fort Neugard but only appears if the fort is not occupied by stormcloaks or the legion) The Butcher (Cragslane Cavern) Sarthis Idren and Orini Dral (Riften warehouse) Telrav (Nilheim) Haldyn (Japhet's Folly) Minorne (Ruunvald) Naris the Wicked (Morvunskar) Taron Dreth (random encounter) etc.
There is another villain. Don't know if he's lesser known or not, but it is kind of sad all the same. When you take the road from Riverwood to Falkreath, at some point there will be a small bandit camp on a small hill or whatever it's called, most likely so they can rob unsuspecting travelers. However, near that tiny camp, there's a Talos shrine with a single dead Thalmor Agent and three (I think) dead Talos worshippers. When searching the dead Thalmor's body, there will be a letter/note from Elenwen. She says that despite all the investigation that has been done, there is no evidence of a Talos shrine around Lake Ilinalta and thus she rejects the Agent's request of sending some soldiers down to help destroy the Talos shrine and worshippers, telling him to go investigate himself and come back with proof or not at all. Now, I get it that the Thalmor are a bunch of pointy eared jerks and all, but it's kind of sad that he went there himself, massacred everyone there and then died himself, just because Elenwen denied his request for help. I feel bad for the worshippers too. Personally, I think the entire location and "story" is sad. :/
Rochelle the red after playing more hours than I can bring myself to acknowledge in the land of Skyrim that's one I have never seen AWESOME thank you great video
On number 4, though the Thalmor Soldiers aren't tied to any specific quest, if you happen to take the quest by Elisif the Fair to deliver Torygg's war horn at a shrine of Talos there is a slight chance that the timing of the elves' patrol overlaps that of the quest and you can encounter them whilst delivering the horn. I don't know if that was deliberately done by Bethesda given that I've played through Skyrim like 10 times and have only encountered them once, but it's pretty interesting nonetheless.
Fun fact, if you don't return home before the bandit-kidnapping event triggers in the game , and then purchase the services of a housecarl and THEN return home to find the bandit woman is there to speak with you, the quest bugs and your spouse won't appear at the end of the dungeon if you go to save them or pay off the bandits. Had to choose between losing 20 hours of gametime or starting from scratch. Suffice to say, the next 20 hours were kind of hard. :/
I wasn't notified of this video :'( Good thing I came to check so I could get these juicy facts also that is SO CONVENIENT, I literally just found Rochelle like 2 days ago. Dirty bandits got nothing on my monk khajiit.
I met Rochelle the Red once. I built my fantastic Lakeside Mansion, had my werewolf hubby Farkas living in it with my two kids.... And spent the entire time screaming at Farkas while killing the bandits to rescue him. "YOU ARE A COMPANION AND A WEREWOLF! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
I was so bloody confused when I returned home, and couldn’t find Vilkas _anywhere_ The bandit that came with the ransom wasn’t non-hostile, I just luckily checked her body afterwards I’m just surprised that Vilkas had not killed them, because at this point I had NO idea that you could turn him back to a mortal, so he was very much a werewolf. This man was the same one who helped me attack dragons that dropped down on me upon coming home of overcumbered...
I've gotten the Rochelle the Red encounter before back when I played with a paladin build, and I took a completely different course of action than the two you mentioned, and I'd like to contribute it as a potential third option of approaching the quest. Instead of going to whatever radiant location I was given and paying the ransom or killing the bandits there, I instead read the note then chose to kill the messenger bandit who gave me said note. When I went to the location I was given, and the place was completely empty, no bandits or anything else there. Confused, I decided to go back to my home, only to find my spouse inside the home like nothing happened. I'm not sure if that's a truly viable option of completion, or I accidentally stumbled across a glitch in the game, but I figured that since I got my spouse back and nothing seemed different when I interact with them, that's the most important thing
I love how he says "well of course, you're the dragonborn" like an excuse for every challenges. :I killed a man with bare hands and burned his house down Police: well that's okay, you're the dragonborn
When I played through the Dark Brotherhood questline, Arcturus somehow survived the assault on the sanctuary and ended up on the Emperor's ship. If I remember rightly, he has the key to the Emperor's room.
I remember coming across an unmarked Talos shrine where there had been a massacre of people, judging from the clothes they were just ordinary citizens. Now I know who did it. Thanks.
With agent Loraclin, there's an alternate way to meet him. If you get the quest to bring the horn of High King Torryg to that shrine, Loraclin will ambush you as you place the horn instead of simply standing guard over the site.
I'm glad Nate and Graenolf don't copy each other but make similar and great videos. Both have made secret villain videos but each found different ones. Appreciate it.
In defense of that cooking guy, who spills laundry water in a soup pot, and I'm pretty sure he's serving the food to the jarl so they could have his head if they get poisoned
7:30... That happened to me on my first play-through immediately after returning home from that one quest that you go drinking and end up talking to Sanguine. I was very confused, the two kind-of amplified the other - and I thought that it had somehow related to the Hagraven I was about to marry. My first, completely oblivious playthrough was very fun.
Didnt knew the last one since i always had the housecarl from the hold i was building a home stay in my house because they where pretty useless otherwise... Definately going to try this out tho so thanks for the info ✌
I love the fact that the farther you get in the game the dumber the bandits and the other riff raff get because nobody in their right mind would mess with the Dragonborn who ends up killing alduin, becomes the leader of every guild in Skyrim, wins the civil war for the stormcloaks or the imperials, becomes thane of every hold, racks up a body count so large that it would make the most cold hearted killer think twice before trying to kill someone even remotely related to the Dragonborn, and the fact the Dragonborn is most likely equipped with maxed out enchanted daedric weapons and armor
Just saying this: Hated working with Maven Black Briar. Hated her being Jarl of Riften in the Empire ending of the civil war. Wish there was some way you could have exposed her and cleaned up the streets from thievery in the same vein as killing the dark brotherhood before joining
I'm always like when Rochelle kidnaps my spouse thinking to myself "She realizes she's just pissed off the at the very least regionally famous Dragonborn right? Bane of Alduin, slayer of Miraak, destroyer of the Volkiher vampire clan? Any ONE of those titles should be enough to terrify any bandit with a brain, and clearly you knew who my spouse was, and odds are they told you EXACTLY what my PC does for a living right? You know, waltzing into bandit camps and murdering everyone is a sort of hobby of my PC. Infact I've brought along my spouse several times for these raids. AND YOU THINK ITS SMART TO KIDNAP MY SPOUSE?!"
*Mister Taz* Your spouse probably didn't say anything because they were bored and thought watching you cleave through a horde of bandits would stave off the tedium, after all things are frightfully uneventful when you aren't around.
Nate, while I was in solitude I hooked up a carriage and you know how they have their dialogue, well mine was along the lines of... " ever heard of those cats? Kah-jeets I think are what they are. They've got a country full of them down south" I don't know if this is word for word since it happened so fast, but idk if its just me or did people call them provinces on RUclips and not countries? Or was this a mistake by Bethesda? Please like if you have heard this and so nate can see this!
ventriloquism toy - The various regions of Tamriel are indeed Provinces, as they were all at one point part of the Empire - but they also act as their own nations for the most part due to the near complete collapse of said Empire
Ive played skyrim for 1000 or so hours in total since its release on 11/11/11, on pc, ps3 and on pc again. With over 20 characters created. And during that time spent, i have not once happened upon those thalmor agents and that shrine. Simply amazing.
I was married to Vilkas and I turned the quest to ask the Companion leaders for work on and noticed one of the marks was at a random bandit cave so I went there and sure enough they captured Vilkas.... I was like "Your a freaking warrior AND werewolf how the heck did they manage to kidnap you?!"
At the "Dorian" Red Wave quest ... did you know that you can skip this entire part of the quest by either bribing the woman on the deck, or just swimming below, and lock picking the chest yourself?
At 5:06 - I believe you are sent to this location by queen Elisif to leave an offering to Talos on behalf of her late husband. I missed this quest on first playthrough - possibly because I was imperial aligned, but 2nd playthrough I was stormcloak and also playing the special edition, so this may have been added in.
Hey Nate, I don't know if you actually read these, but the one with Loraclin is loosely based with a quest. I don't recall the name, but is the one where High Queen Elisif asks the Dragonborn to make an offering at a Shrine of Talos.
Even though I kinda stopped playing Skyrim a good while back I feel like through these videos I can relive every little detail. The day Nate runs out of tiny details or hidden secrets in Skyrim will be a dark day for both the gaming community and mankind as a whole.
I remember the first time I played, I was trying to hide from a dragon in a house, and a Madge in there kept killing me, I decided to try and run from that mountain after I died a few times.
The Dragonborn comes home, only to see the door ajar, and blood at the entrance. Fearing the worst, she rushes in, only to find several dead bandits, her wife, Serana standing over the bodies. Serana: Oh, hello love. Dragonborn: What in Oblivion happened here? Serana: They showed up a little bit ago, just busted through the door. Said they were going to take me back to their hideout and hold me for ransom. But I wasn't interested, so *gestures to the bodies* Dragonborn: I know you can handle yourself dear, but I should have been here. I'd have made these bastards suffer. Serana: *mischievous smirk* Well, they did mention the name of their hideout, and that it was pretty fortified. Up for a little adventure? Dragonborn: *grin* Definitely.
Ironically, I just discovered the Liracalin thing the other day. Odd how I never encountered him there before, though. Maybe it's different in the PC version, since he and his flunky just walked up to attack instead of being lying in ambush at the shrine itself.
Josh Dracoian idk which mod is causing it but every character I make Astrid just says “need something” to me, so I started murdering them all, my god, so satisfying! Never really felt like there was much of an ending in the base game for it but hand murdering Nazir and all them make me happy inside
Rochelle the Red: "Hey you know that extremly powerful dragenborn who killed Alduin and eats giants for breakfast?"
Bandit: "Yeah..."
Rochelle: "Let's kidnap his wife!"
Bandit: ".....Brilliant."

10 minutes later...
Rochelle: *THIS WENT BETTER IN MY HEAD-* (dead)
I can practically FEEL the cringe radiating from the random bandit knowing that their day just got a whole lot less fun.
That's genius! 😂

When Elisif asks you to take her husband's war horn to a shrine of Talos it's the one you talk about in this video, right? "Elisif's Tribute"
You can take The war horn to any shrine of Talos.
Weird i havent come across them yet doing that quest
I did that quest but it wasn't to that cave and yet I had to deal with Lorcalin or whatever his name is. I just assumed it was a scripted event that happens regardless after you deliver the horn to the shrine.
That Thalmor agent is related to a quest that only becomes available if you're reputable enough to gain Jarl Elisif's trust in Solitude. She'll ask you to make an offering to the shrine for her late husband, King Torygg.
When I go to the shrine I encounter only one or two dragons but when I reach the shrine no thalmor or any of those yellows there

Taron Dreth (random encounter)
etc.
Nate, how much time do you spend in finding and exploring Skyrim? And for the rest of you guys, what race do you choose and why?
Khajiit because they are awesome
I chose to be a dark elf.
Argonian
breton. not the most pretty race, but very powerful
Dogmeat Gaming I'm currently Argonian. But my past two characters were khajiits.
That's like saying you feel bad an SS officer died
Elves deserve no mercy
The final boss of Skyrim should’ve been a giant chicken that breathes fire.
I think thats a dragon that flys everytime and pisses you of because you dont have dragonrend.
But that _is_ the storylines boss, what are you on about?
so you want a two legged, winged creature that breathes fire
Aegon The Conqueror
No, I want a giant chicken
Do you still get a bounty for killing it?
"Or you could kill the bandits and take back your significant other"
Wouldn't have it any other way ;)
Dude I could watch these for hours. There so professional and we'll done. I love it!
Rochelle the red after playing more hours than I can bring myself to acknowledge in the land of Skyrim that's one I have never seen AWESOME thank you great video
I've got a running headcannon that your werewolf/orc warlord spouse only gets kidnapped because they want to watch you kill some bandits
The idea of some random bandit gang kidnapping a Companion (I usually marry Farkas) is hilarious.
I just did the Forsworn conspiracy questline in Markarth again and realized 11 named npcs were dead by the end
Darth Bane thats because of the chaos the forsworn causes in their escape, I recomend you to de that part at nigth so there isnt NPCs
i like to see the carnage so i can loot the npc's bodies while everyone is fighting and dying :^)
StraightUpIrish you, TheEpicNate315 and Imperial Knowledge are my favorite skyrim RUclipsrs
Hey StraightUpIrish! I love watching your Skyrim videos!
I found out when I told kharjo to go home while Aela was home. Lol.
The last entry on your list blew my mind Nate! Good job!
Strange fact :
Penitus Oculatus in Latin is Internet Eyewitness
I find it hard to believe there is a word for internet in Latin.
For some reason it's what Google says , so who knows.
Random Person so its a web of eyewitness
@@Lo-tf6qt well it could mean the all seeing eye
I met Rochelle the Red once. I built my fantastic Lakeside Mansion, had my werewolf hubby Farkas living in it with my two kids....
And spent the entire time screaming at Farkas while killing the bandits to rescue him.
"YOU ARE A COMPANION AND A WEREWOLF! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
I was so bloody confused when I returned home, and couldn’t find Vilkas _anywhere_
The bandit that came with the ransom wasn’t non-hostile, I just luckily checked her body afterwards
I’m just surprised that Vilkas had not killed them, because at this point I had NO idea that you could turn him back to a mortal, so he was very much a werewolf.
Why is Arcturus a bad guy? And if he's a bad guy, then are we the bad guy if we destroy the Brotherhood?
Yes. Hard to explain why, but yes.
No and yes
Everyone is a bad guy to someone.
He's not a bad guy he's an antagonist. His goals are in opposition to yours
Not really, he was just doing his job. You're the one that's out cutting the throats of chiefs and Emperors.
I love how he says "well of course, you're the dragonborn" like an excuse for every challenges.
:I killed a man with bare hands and burned his house down
Police: well that's okay, you're the dragonborn
When I played through the Dark Brotherhood questline, Arcturus somehow survived the assault on the sanctuary and ended up on the Emperor's ship. If I remember rightly, he has the key to the Emperor's room.
"They kidnapped your significant other!"
Oh no, I wonder what I'll
FUS RO DAH!
Can't call it a day without watching 3 to 12 videos of yours lmao
These videos always make me go back to playing Skyrim for hours
I remember coming across an unmarked Talos shrine where there had been a massacre of people, judging from the clothes they were just ordinary citizens. Now I know who did it. Thanks.
Dorians a perfect example of "when you lie on your resume , but still get the job"
Great vid Nate. Keep up the good work!
With agent Loraclin, there's an alternate way to meet him. If you get the quest to bring the horn of High King Torryg to that shrine, Loraclin will ambush you as you place the horn instead of simply standing guard over the site.
You are doing great work, i tune into every epidsode, would love to see more fallout too!
I'm glad Nate and Graenolf don't copy each other but make similar and great videos. Both have made secret villain videos but each found different ones. Appreciate it.
Who else is hyped for 1000 tiny details in the elder scrolls 6
In defense of that cooking guy, who spills laundry water in a soup pot, and I'm pretty sure he's serving the food to the jarl so they could have his head if they get poisoned
He also said "again" meaning she does it often
The least known villain is the one who asks to be pinned
@@johnhenderson4833 it's you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villian
@@calebmilligan4941 Yes, but die unknown is more appropriate for the comment.
About Anton virane, as a chef myself I can say, that this is the actual kind of language used while working in the kitchen/be an apprentice.
The first one is not a villain! He is a hero!! He is fighting against a guild of cold blooded assasins.
Gabriel Bitencourt Hence why the title says “...Lesser-Known *Bosses* and Villains You May Have Missed.”
Favorite Bethesda news youtuber
Young Ace Graenolf, Mr. Rhexx? ESO ??????
Kidnapping the dragonborn's spouse should be nearly impossible since most marriage option are skilled fighters. Marriage really does change characters
I wonder if I'll ever stop scaring with the "HEY" at the beginning of the videos. 😕
Love this channel n so happy to see it grow! I swear you are on par with fudgemuppet and eso keep up the fantastic work :)
Nate, You are literally the definition of an Encyclopaedia
"Hey guys, Nate here..." Always makes my day. I love your skyrim videos 🖤
@M'aiq the Liar as far as i know, M'aiq does not care for either the Imperials *or* the Stormcloaks. what's with the hostility?
Yeah I think it would've been cool to wipe out the thieves guild from riften or join the silver hand and not have them be a bunch of bandits.
1:21 “You’ll have to help Nazeem defeat the man”
I'm always like when Rochelle kidnaps my spouse thinking to myself "She realizes she's just pissed off the at the very least regionally famous Dragonborn right?
Clearly, the most unknown villain is a Mudcrab. It's so tough. Seeing it makes me shiver.
When I found the thalmor at the shrine I thought it was a mod because every time I bring torygs horn there he never spawned.
I’m totally on a Skyrim video binge 😂
Lorackalin.
Lorcalin.
*Twitches violently*
"You have to help Nazim defeat the man"
*does basically a tf2 backstab with a sword*
Nate, while I was in solitude I hooked up a carriage and you know how they have their dialogue, well mine was along the lines of... " ever heard of those cats? Kah-jeets I think are what they are. They've got a country full of them down south" I don't know if this is word for word since it happened so fast, but idk if its just me or did people call them provinces on RUclips and not countries? Or was this a mistake by Bethesda? Please like if you have heard this and so nate can see this!
ventriloquism toy - they're called provinces but they're countries.
ventriloquism toy - The various regions of Tamriel are indeed Provinces, as they were all at one point part of the Empire - but they also act as their own nations for the most part due to the near complete collapse of said Empire
Ive played skyrim for 1000 or so hours in total since its release on 11/11/11, on pc, ps3 and on pc again. With over 20 characters created. And during that time spent, i have not once happened upon those thalmor agents and that shrine. Simply amazing.
I absolutely LOVE this game, but I would like to ask suggestions from all you guys on how to make the game more fun and spontaneous.
6 years later and Skyrim has new videos every week.
Not really a boss or a villain because he threatened to chop someone’s fingers off
I was married to Vilkas and I turned the quest to ask the Companion leaders for work on and noticed one of the marks was at a random bandit cave so I went there and sure enough they captured Vilkas.... I was like "Your a freaking warrior AND werewolf how the heck did they manage to kidnap you?!"
Nate, your voice is amazing for commentating.
At the "Dorian" Red Wave quest ... did you know that you can skip this entire part of the quest by either bribing the woman on the deck, or just swimming below, and lock picking the chest yourself?
Agent locarin was suppose to be enemy of the quest from elisif she ask you to put her husband horn on that shrine
Another good one
Hey Nate, I don't know if you actually read these, but the one with Loraclin is loosely based with a quest. I don't recall the name, but is the one where High Queen Elisif asks the Dragonborn to make an offering at a Shrine of Talos.
You have the best voice.
Even though I kinda stopped playing Skyrim a good while back I feel like through these videos I can relive every little detail. The day Nate runs out of tiny details or hidden secrets in Skyrim will be a dark day for both the gaming community and mankind as a whole.
343 Guilty Spark: I think, if that happens, it will tear a hole in the time/space continuum & we'll be swept into it like Alduin.
Dammit Nate, stop uploading videos. I should be studying
FakePale today at Greece junior high exams ended and did so well😀😀😀😀 I hope same of ya
Χρηστος Σταμοσ what is junior high
e e em it's 7 8 and 9 grade
But I wasn't interested, so *gestures to the bodies*
Dragonborn: I know you can handle yourself dear, but I should have been here.
I say: Destroy the Dark Brotherhood. I really don't like that group.
Josh Dracoian idk which mod is causing it but every character I make Astrid just says “need something” to me, so I started murdering them all, my god, so satisfying! Never really felt like there was much of an ending in the base game for it but hand murdering Nazir and all them make me happy inside
Only new to your videos but I've been binge watching. Your videos have made me decide to buy a computer to play Skyrim. Thank you for making them
1:20 “Help NAZEEM” Two words that should never go together
A more well known villain is General Tulius, or any Imperial for that matter.
The stormcloaks are evil not the empire you stormcloak BASTERD !!! Idiot!!
