  • Hot weather reduces the number of places bass can use comfortably in the summertime. If you know where to look, you can find big concentrations of fish, and the hotter the weather, the better! In this video I will also share with you my top 5 baits for fishing in these blazing conditions.

    Caught 5 keepers on the drop shot yesterday using Aaron’s magic 4”roboworm in scattered weeds 8-15ft. That’s the only size my local bait shop has. Still worked great!

    I have caught more largemouth bass in the summer than any time of year. I use weedless lures and sometimes top water lures around structure. Sometimes I use a Carolina rig lizard. Never think that it's too hot to go fishing!

    • @calebwistad
      @calebwistad  29 дней назад

      Right on! The Carolina rig has somewhat been forgotten but still works.

    Is trout fishing still good in creeks and streams in WI round this time of year?

    • @calebwistad
      @calebwistad  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, but it’s best to fish only the upper reaches where the water stays cool enough to safely play and release trout. In lower sections the water can get too warm and they don’t survive being caught and handled very well.

      @@calebwistad do you think Waupaca and surrounding Rivers and creeks are still good?

    How far off the bottom do you set up your drop shot hook for largemouth when fishing deep weed lines?

    • @calebwistad
      @calebwistad  Месяц назад +2

      Typically about 20” to 24”

      @@calebwistad Wow, seems like a long way up off the bottom. I'll be anxious to try 20-24 inches up the next time I'm out. Thanks for this specific tip!

    Our fish are in 40 to 45 ft. Thats were the water is cooler. More oxygen and lots of bait fish to eat.

    • @calebwistad
      @calebwistad  Месяц назад

      Wow. That’s deep! I bet they don’t release too well if you catch them from 45’!
