If you have virtual desktop and a quest 3 you can do upper body tracking with no extra hardware needed just have to use the beta version of virtual desktop which is public and available to use 👍👍👍

I want slimes trackers but the price is just alittle too high for the practicality. Literally vrchat and B&S And i hardly play both anymore. Vrchat *occasionally*.
I just tried it with a Jank network connection to my PC as I didn't have my router setup and honestly the results I got were really impressive. The elbows and upper body being tracked alone is a gamechanger and makes your avatar just feel more lifelike. And then the estimation when sitting and lying down is also impressive and more than sufficient for a casual setup. Really awesome stuff

@@shiftednrifted i actually used to do that. it sucked as it would come off before even launching VRchat. now i use some decent straps from amazon that have pouches in them that holds phones. if youtube allows it i could try to post links to them if i can find them.
I'm thinking I might be able to convert my KAT Loco trackers into essentially slime trackers but I'm not sure. Also, honestly the Xbox Kinect V2 is still pretty good
I just ordered a bunch of BNO085s to rebuild my nearly 3 yr old mpu6050 Slimes. Community even has cheap PCB boards to easily stack and solder them now. It's nice. The fact the VD beta works with most of it's new featured on the Quest 1 is insane. Proves Meta maybe shouldn't have completely stopped updates for the device, it's still a solid PC headset.

Just tested this method out again after 4 months ago (didn't like the latency) when I saw this video and this is now working really well after all the updates. I can drop my 7+3 set down to 5+3. I could probably do the 4+2 like in this video but need to test more. Will get back in a bit!
How can someone that invested in VR still use the horrible, horrible standard headstrap? Not a critique - it's a serious question. After an hour of using the standard headstrap I have to readjust the headset at least 5 times, and it starts to hurt at multiple points. Using a proper headstrap.. NONE of that happens, no matter how long I play. You might want to invest 60$ to change your whole VR experience. It's a completely different experience.
Very interested, I use the Quest 3 and think of using just 2 joycons at my feet with the upper body tracking. Is it a cheap but good idea? I know you prob never going to read this.

You could also use, used nintendo switch controllers that you can buy for cheap. There is a program that turns them into slime trackers (but like half the price)
@TheMysticle yeah, there is this little lightweight program that makes bluetooth connection with the controllers, the buttons and joystick can be just conpletely gone and you will still be able to use it. Cuz in the controllers there is a little imu controller, so this program uses the data from that and translates it to slimevr data so you can use it and its really fast and cheap and easy to use

I tried it and works with Quest 2 too for upper body tracking, not for the legs that supposedly works on quest 3, but this solution would work fine on quest 2
quest 2 doesn't have upper body tracking. In VD it's using calculations based off of your controller and headset positions. Works surprisingly well as I've tried it but it is NOT tracking your upper body in a quest 2. You'll notice this if you try and really move your elbows without moving the controllers. It's just guessing, fairly convincingly but still guessing.
People who are another $650 in the hole after purchasing trackers and a dedicated router to run wireless VR features when I walk up to them using the questionably effective black magic of $20 Standable FBE software.

Looks at non existing watch 1yr 2 months (since order). Looks at what's shipped from slime vr 2,231 units (not a fictional number it's printed on site). /raiseseyebrow. However since getting the product seems to be overly complicated atm. I hear sony has a partnership with slimevr \o/ those should work in theory since slimes are unumtanium.
Story goes like this ... The company slimevr uses to fab their boards has a 7 month wait time (this time is out of their hands, site of the fab clearly states this). Once boards obtained assembly time took them about 2-4 months. They had 2-4 months of FCC issues. I have zero idea what crowd supply's issue is. It been in their warehouse since november. Every month they push me. I send them an email as they send me one saying it's arriving this month. Date arrives. Look on site and i'm pushed another month. It's been this way since november. Not slimevr's fault something is going on with crowd supply as well. That's a long time considering all their function is, is to sort and slap stamps on.

Nope, I realized very quickly while doing that that A, it was a bad idea and B, quest tracking was already messing up so there was no point in trying a full hand stand.

Someone did this with no trackers, they just clicked on Emulate and it worked, with a quest 3

Best thing is to combine them with vive trackers or rift cv1 trackers(it also worksd if u only have 2 controllers)...works well

PCVR right now, since I don't think you can combine stuff together without the slime server.

They often forget to add the link lol.
If you're on a managed google account (e.g. school) they can toggle cards and end screens.
