    Thanks! this is the video I have been looking for! Just one question: Then Once I set my Cruise speed, I don't need to do absolutely nothing else to maintain a distance with the car in the front? It will maintain a distance automatically? So the other button to change distance is just to change that distance? (meaning, is not an on/off option, but instead to change whatever distance is there by default). Am I right?

    • @CardinalKia
      @CardinalKia  2 года назад +3

      You are correct! it will naturally take you down to a full stop if need be, and start you moving again when things are moving along. If the vehicle ahead of you is driving a bit wonky and you can't get around them, you can use that button to hang back a but from them if you don't feel comfortable being that close. Thanks for watching! - Andrew

    One thing you didn’t mention is that if you combine the use of cruise control with the lane assist steering control, then the car will also keep within the lane as well as using stop and go.

    • @CardinalKia

      This is true, but that would be a video specifically on the Highway Driving Assist. Hoping to get to one of those sooner than later! Thanks for watching! - Andrew

      @MrRoarkeFI it's actually part of your Highway Driving Assist, and that can be turned off through the infotainment screen under Driver Assistance. - Andrew

    Hate the smart cruise. Don’t like how it slows down on its own. When I’m cruising and going with traffic I like to keep the speed and change lanes not slow down. Is there a way to turn that off but still do regular cruise control?

    • @CardinalKia
      @CardinalKia  2 года назад +1

      That's fair. I haven't seen a way to do it yet, but if I do I'll make a video on it! Thanks for watching! - Andrew

      This is exactly why I checked out this video. If I want the vehicle to slow down, I'll slow it down.

    How does the speed limit sign reader work?
    If you set it to 5 mph over the speed limit will it always adjust your speed on it's own to follow the speed limit signs?

    • @CardinalKia
      @CardinalKia  Год назад

      If you had the Smart Cruise the intelligent speed limiter would adjust your speed to the speed limit of the road! It knows the limit by reading the sign as you pass it! I'm going to try and get a video of that! Thanks for watching! - Andrew

    Whenever I turn on cruise control, the lane assists automatically turns on by default. Is there a way to shut that off?

    • @CardinalKia
      @CardinalKia  Год назад

      It's the Lane Follow Assist that turns on with it. You can always hit the Lane Keep/Lane Follow button to turn that off if you don't want to use it with the Highway Driving Assist, that can always be disabled in the infotainment too. Thanks for watching! - Andrew

      @@CardinalKia Thanks. I turned it off from the settings and now it doesn’t turn on automatically with cruise control, and I can still turn it on via the button whenever I need it, exactly the way I wanted it to work.

    When using the smart cruise control, whenever a new speed limit sign comes up the car does not adjust speed automatically, I have to click the plus or minus button to do so. Do you know how to fix that and make the car adjust speed automatically?

    • @CardinalKia
      @CardinalKia  2 года назад

      When you go into Settings then Vehicle, under Driver Assistance then Highway Driving Assist, there is an option in there if that is what you want to do. Thanks for watching! - Andrew

    My RPM is more than 3 if I set my cruise to 90+. If I take the control from cruise the RPM changes to less than 2. Is that normal?

      It's a shame they don't make it so you can disable it. It does come in handy in some settings.
      I have a somewhat related question while we're here. The forward safety active assist keeps resetting to full assist, (or whatever the name is for it. I'm not in the car at the moment). I had shut it off and assumed that it would have stayed off. Driving down the road on Sunday morning, nearly no traffic, nobody ahead of me except for a car in a detached Lane off to the left waiting to turn into a parking lot. I had the cruise control on & the car hit the brakes aggressively on its own when it apparently saw that vehicle as a threat. The road bends to the right at that point so the car was somewhat ahead of me, but long story short, I want to shut this off and have it remain off.
      The salesman that sold it to me is having trouble figuring out how to have this default to the off position. Do you have any input on that?
      I guess technically I can turn it off every time I get in the vehicle but I shouldn't have to do that.

    • @CardinalKia
      @CardinalKia  2 года назад

      I feel like they are kind of forcing you to use it. It can be a feature that could change your world in the right situation, but I can understand it being annoying when it's being overly cautious. I personally set mine to late, as it will have to be turned off every time you go for a drive if you don't want to use it at all. - Andrew
