Waiting on my delivery today for the neo's, I actually wanted the mass drop meze noir but Amazon doesn't provide them, they also come with 2 sets of ear cushions that slightly changes the sound, anyway I'm sure I'll like the neo version. Thanks for the video ✌🏼

Hello. Why do you say that these headphones may be less suitable for classical music, in what sense? If you could compare these headphones to the beyerdynamic dt 880 or dt 990, what would be the main difference ?

I listened to both and went with Classics. I like the look plus if you want to lay on a couch and not be tethered by a short wire, the extra wire Classics carry is what you need. These phones are super light and comfy, I'm gonna use them for gaming, I may replace the cushions with something more breathable. They sound clean, excellent with pop and classical, but with something like death metal I felt they're not aggressive enough, like everything is way too smoothed out, polished and I got no options really besides the Winamp EQ in my PC. I don't have an amp or a dac, mainly because I listen to music in the gym or while traveling somewhere and I use Bose Sound Sports for that, and I love them. At home I need the over ears for long gaming sessions and watching stuff. I think I'm gonna keep these 99 Classics.

Lathed wood cups is the only reason, hardware is the same but material can change the sound

Yeah, both the Meze 99 sound good for the price and they're comfy, and still cost double of the ManO'War which i don't like at all. But I'm used to listen to better headphones. It's just about preferences, that's why they sounded muddy to me when i tried both.

I totally agree with that. But I don't like to buy something and have to EQ it to make it sound "right" for me. I would probably get Sennheiser HD 600 for less than the wooden Meze 99.

Quimet93 Sennheiser HD600 is not cheaper than Meze99C and you should also consider the amp requirement of HD600. or if you know where I can get HD600 lower than 300EUR please let me know
