I thought I was the only one who didn't like parties and pubs, so happy to find there are other miserable hits out there. Safety in numbers I call it.
Not at all Ian, I've been the same all my life as well. I was born and brought up on a remote farm and learned to love my own company and remain that way to this day. I get stuck into my work and live that way.

Hi Ian I can go along with that, I gave up drinking sept 2004 since then but I've never really been one parties I'd much rather be in the country side and talk to cows all horses I'll watch the wildlife

Don't blame you one bit - I regularly opt out of most gatherings, with or without drinking (I don't anymore, they generally do). Not one for socializing much (anymore) - and I'm getting to the point where "I don't want to" is a good enough excuse 🤣
And I wouldn't call it anti-social, but "selectively social". You have shown you can be plenty social - when the time and people are "right". I'm just the same - all the best ones are, I think 😉
Hi Farmer P 🙂. Nothing more boring for a non drinker watching a bunch of boozers at a party. Their voices get louder and louder as the night wears on and their antics more childish.
Like you, I run away and find something useful to do . Doesn't fuss me if I'm labelled anti-social 😃
Good Evening Ian, A man after my own heart o I have had my drink in the past but over the last 35 to 45 years I haven’t had one drink I just went off it and now just a soft drink, And I just like to sit to one side and watch how they start to get silly and I nav a chuckle to myself. I have had a couple of moments when the Lemoncello got the better of me, once witnessed by a couple of daughters, the ones that missed it regretted not being there. I am a silly drunk, the mouth brain filter developes a big hole and I drivel a load of nonsense, laugh a lot then fall over… But I dislike not being in control, so the few rare occasions will remain tha5 way 🙂

Until I read your comments and what you've said about being anti-social, I thought it was just me.
I understand how you feel I would be the same way. I always try to keep in mind for upgrades, things will never be as cheap as they are now. If you want to do it, now is the time it will be more expensive in the future.

Farmer p im the same as u i dont drink and if we were out somewhere and i didnt have a drink i wood get people "arent u drinking and y not and go on have just one" and i wood say no i dont want one thank u and they use to look at me different like i didnt fit in

Oh Ian, I would be similar to you. I couldn't think of a worse thing than sitting in a pub or wherever listening to someone talk sh1t. The same goes for someone coming to the house, I would have an excuse to be outside or wherever. But I would feel under pressure to at least be in attendance for some of the time. Problem is that when it is just me in the house, I can't really do that?.......... well not really ?????🤔. So I don't blame you, it's better than being a sheep 😅.
Think I'm a bit like you now Ian. No longer go for a drink nearly every night. Like to be in bed by 10pm. Love a chat, but with people I like. Finally retired - and Finally Grown Up 😺

I know what you’re saying, I’m not a crowd person, and not a drinker every time I go to a party some drunk finds me and tells me their life story.
I’ve heard so many weird versions of why they are divorced or not married or where they put their wife who had dementia so they could life with another woman. I avoid group gatherings like the plague.

I know exactly what you mean. After a couple of beers I have usually had my fill. I’m not in my 20’s any more! Couldn’t drink all afternoon and evening if my life depended on it! Call me a lightweight maybe, but I hate hangovers more than fly tippers, and that’s saying something!😜

I’m with you on this subject peace quiet and nature is my preference too . Unfortunately living where I do I get none of it. Yes I married a farmer but his land is 4 miles out of town so he commutes

@@FarmerP Living with a school, a park, football club ,Tesco supermarket all a stones throw from my home , idiots with cars and bikes in the next road over the fence that need a spud sticking up their exhausts,a schizophrenic alcholic neighbour and I am sure he is smoking drugged tobacco as he got mixed up with the local skank and her druggy friends my quiet space is non existant. I need the lottery so I can buy somewhere in the middle of nowhere but with internet I need that ! 😖

Getting drunk or even tipsy is itself antisocial, for it's selfish, noisy, messy, foolish, profligate, unhealthy and essentially destructive. You're better off out of it.
@@JonK... I have tried it a couple of times in my younger days, 3 or 4 I think. Apparently I was extremely entertaining, or was it embarrassing, Mrs P has only seen me drunk once or twice (in 40 years) and wasn’t overly impressed. I’m a total lightweight with alcohol, far better off without it. 🙂

The birds have been very quiet around here as well, have you noticed the lack of bees this year, our squash in the garden didn’t get pollinated this year due to the lack of bees butterfly’s and other pollen loving things

The further into my 30s I’ve got the more anti social I’ve got… most as everyone else is married with kids now and I’ve neither 🤷♂plus I’ve lived for so long on my own I’m use to talking to the radio 😆🤦♂

Antisocial works for me I always say if you're having a party don't you invite me.
In my teens, when I was a member of 18 to 30, we always were drinking.
But as I've got older, I don't drink only half a cider due to driving a car. Even if I was in an Airbnb, I would be the same.

That’s where I differ from most Norman. I rarely get any pressure to do stuff I’m not interested in, my friends and colleagues know they are wasting their time, I’m a poor follower, I would far sooner carve my own path and go my own way. 🙂👍🏼

@@antonyfarming Never seen the point in getting inebriated out of my skull, I can count the number of times I have been properly drunk on one hand. I passed the attitude on to my daughters too, it’s not big, and it’s definitely not clever. People get stupid, aggressive or daft when they over do it…. I’m in the stupid and daft bracket. I like a cold beer shandy on a hot day, or the occasional sherry on a cold one, but that’s my limit.

My opinion on social or family events why should I spend time with people I don't normally or people who make my life more difficult than it needs to be I know that's anti social but it what I like sitting down for 2 hour listening to how people lives are better than mine or moaning about something they've done nothing to resolve just doesn't do it for me

I don’t think you’re too antisocial because you certainly like a chat. By the way why do you leave the end section outside the barn unused. The bit adjacent to the concrete wall. It’s full of weeds and isn’t very big. Can it not be used?

@@FarmerP I don’t know how else to describe it but I think the roof extension will cover it as well. You have an outside feeder located next to it. I haven’t ever seen you open it but the concrete wall of the barn is on one side otherwise it’s all fenced off with gates and rails. Lots of weeds inside.

No, just not impressed by the majority of humanity. Humble seems to be a dirty word these days, everyone is competing with everyone else, who’s the loudest, fastest, richest or most popular.
