3:40 The trophy for getting 17,000 studs is a reference to the scene in A New Hope where Obi Wan offers Han Solo 17,000 credits to transport him and Luke to Alderaan. When the deal is made Han says to him "You guys got yourself a ship."
Nice dude! Completely understand why people dislike the amount of collectibles but I for one loved every second of it. There's just something special about LEGO Star Wars making it impossible for me to hate. Congrats on getting it done!
Appreciate it mate! Yeah for me I'd have just loved it if they even halved the collectibles. I loved exploring the planets and being in this world but what I was doing for me just dragged on for far too long
So, I got this game when it came out beat the main story and stopped… but my 3 and a half year old daughter watched me boot it up a few weeks ago and was absolutely blown away at how cool it was. So now we play it together and while she runs around I’ve been collecting all the bricks and characters. My goal is to 100% the game and I quickly realized how difficult it will be 😅
I would have felt the same exact way if it weren't for a bug I encountered with one of the Kyber Bricks that forced me to start a new save to collect them all, again. Serves me right for playing a AAA game on Launch though.
im like 54.3% or something percent, and i honestly find it fun collecting everything, that could just be me bc i love collecting things irl, but i genuinely find 100%ing the planets fun, can’t say the same for the capital ships tho, i just find it fun, not a fan of the level challenges tho but i do like the concept of it also, 17000 studs isn’t random, in a new hope it’s the amount of money luke and obi won offer han solo for his assistance, it’s not random, it’s really smart
ive been absolutely blasting through this game this month, getting the first trophy on august 13th, and now I'm at 92% 40 hours later on august 30th, cant say I've been terribly bored until starting the 100% level grind
Congrats on completing the series! I’ve been slowly chipping away at the skywalker saga for about 2 years no in coop, very fun game but definitely get sick of the completion grind, so I commend you for sticking to it in such a short timeframe
The rant about the planets and the side missions is one I can relate to. I haven't played this one yet but when getting the platinum for LEGO Batman 3 and DC Supervillains, the same problem arose. So many collectibles and side missions that only unlocked after completing another. I remember Batman 3 being the worst offender of the two. It is why I honestly enjoy the older LEGO games more, they felt more compact and had less arbitrary fluff and needless grind. Still enjoyed getting the plat for Supervillains and Batman 3, but probably won't ever touch them again... But huge congrats on the platinum! Awesome video as always and get well soon
Yeah it feels like a growing issue. Reminds me a lot of Crash 4's completion requirements. The Crash Trilogy's collectathon elements while short felt fun to complete and yet Crash 4 said lets cram in 400 gems to collect! Needless filler to extend playtime. I will say though, I'm glad I've gotten this game done in regards to LEGO games because nothing outside of maybe 2K Drive will be as grindy as this one 😂
@@MayorHairBear Not a fan of padding just for the sake of padding (not looking forward to AC Valhalla at some point in the future) Yeah it feels great to be done with such massive grindfest games. I have a few that I have been working on a bit here and there over the last few years. Can't grind for too long or I get burnt out on the games.
At the very least with dc villains. As long as you used the kiosk once, everything showed up. And there wasn't around ONE THOUSAND miscellaneous bricks to acquire. lego dc villains is in my too 4 so im heavily biased but Skywalker saga sucks to 100%. You need to basically be a grind addict to not feel somewhat bored at some point. Tldr: great to play and explore, horrible to complete (all the power to you if you enjoy it)
Get well soon, I've been listening to you're vids while going trough the chalice dungeon grind In Bloodborne and its been mutch more tolerable because of them, thank you ❤
I remember doing LSWTSS on Steam for the first time, and I had a few issues, those being a Kyber brick puzzle I didn’t know had several prerequisites and a bug where a cargo container attached to my ship would keep me stuck in lightspeed. I solved the second by going to Galaxy Free Play and landing in Mos Eisley to count the “tracked” quest as completed. Having to complete the quest again was no sweat. As for the “Hand Over Fist” puzzle on the _Invisible Hand,_ that one took some time, as you only have 10 seconds to hit all four targets, and they’re each hidden in one room in the same area.
I got this platinum a year ago and honestly, I loved every second of it. Maybe it’s because I love the IP in general, or the fact that I rewatched every film as I played through it in the game but it was a fun ride! Also, I had a friend doing it with me at the same time so that was cool. Feels good to have a celebration of LEGO & Star Wars as a platinum. Good going man! 💪🏼🏆
As a big Lego Star Wars fan I gotta say I didn't mind the grind for the platinum. The nice little easter eggs they left in there are great for us Star Wars nuts and it was a really chill time for the most part. However my biggest gripe with the game was that you couldn't replay the story cutscenes like in past games. There were some really golden moments in there but I'm not replaying the entire game to rewatch them!
16:15 the funny thing is that the “collectable highlighter” isnt even a red brick in this game, thats how weak the red brick line up is. Most of the typical star wars red bricks were moved to player upgrades, which makes them cheaper and more accessible at least (stud magnet, super ships, collectable highlighter, regenerating hearts, super speed)
I remember this one being an absolute grind, but worth it! Once I got into the groove of the collectables I got them done quicker than I thought - Great vid as always!
Congrats on completing your Star Wars challenge! Skywalker Saga is definitely a grind, but (and this is probably a hot take), I think I would rather do it again than platinum Lego Clone Wars again. Idk for me personally, the grind was varied enough in Skywalker Saga that I didn’t find myself getting bored with it, and generally had fun from start to finish. I wish I could say the same for Clone Wars, but those galactic assault missions were just miserably bland and tedious for me. Still, this game is undoubtedly a long grind, so props to you for making it through it! And you’re 100% right about all the back n forth stuff. Cool in concept to have side quest chains and things that are linked together, but the execution was a bit annoying
I don't know if it's a hot take, a few defenders of this grind in the comments but for me, I'd rather platinum The Clone Wars and The Force Awakens twice than ever touch this game again. I agree there is some variety here but it quickly gets squashed out when they stick it on repeat throughout to boost the numbers. Genuinely one of my least favourite platinum's I've gone for which sucks given the game itself is good
I keep seeing this on discount periodically and I used to love the LEGO games (still have a few to play), and would always decline buying it. I should probably pick it up after all this time given this review and that I likely won't bother chasing down the platinum (or at least for a good long while just chipping away at random tasks when bored). Congrats on getting such a chore done.
Congratulations with the Lego SW the Skywalker Sega platinum. I also remember the grinding being torture, it took me so long to get the platinum, especially because I had trouble with the challenges not counting even when I knew I had done everything right, so that was fun replaying levels over and over again.
Yeah I had a few level challenges not count repeatedly for me, the Jango one in particular had me replay the level a good 10 times just to finally unlock!
I’ll be honest, I never understand why people say you need to grind out studs in this game. I went out of my way to pick up enough datacards to unlock the multipliers, buying them whenever I naturally got funds for them. once I had them all just usual treking through the galaxy and completing everything got me not just enough studs for the trophy, but enough studs to crash the economies of every single planet in the game, and then nuke them each with their own individual Death Stars. Rant aside, great video! Came across you through the Star Wars 3 Plat vid, keep up the good work! Also if anyone ever wants to plat this, pro tip. Upgrade the Dark side characters so the can force lift anyone. Use Boba or Jengo Fett and you can cheese so many challenges. Makes platting fun because the devs didn’t plan for you to abuse it so much
Appreciate it mate, glad you enjoyed the video! I would agree you definitely don't need to do the grind method for studs but for me just using those levels to grind all the multipliers in an hour just was one less thing to worry about
Excellent work with the platinum! Getting another look at the Skywalker Saga was a blast! I can't wait to see you return to Mass Effect in the future! (I just got the platinum for 3 and am super close for 1 and 2.)
Great video as always bear, normally after your videos I have the urge to go through the platinums myself but after watching your video and watching live this game can stay forever untouched 😂
I did this on PlayStation when it first came out and had an absolute blast! I loved that it was the biggest LEGO game to date. I just started my second 100% on my PC a few days ago. I still think this is one of the best Star Wars experience you will find
It's annoying not being able to 100% complete a planet right away because another quest on another planet needs to be done first. I am currently missing one unlockable character or kyber brick with Mos Eisley, Pasaana, and Geonosis and half of the unlockable characters in the Junland Wastes because of this. It made me worried that I ran into a glitch.
I'm not sure if it was patched or not, but there used to be a great stud grind spot in mos espa. There was a door that infinitely spawnes storm troopers, and you could do a glitch that made your bounty hunter gun shoot a continuous lazer beam instead of the normal burst bolts. With the upgrade to bounty hunters that gives extra money for kills, it was a very fast farm
I did see that, I think it's still good I just didn't have the bounty hunters upgraded at the time and went full steam ahead for about an hour in the levels!
Get well soon. I hope you recover quickly from this grind. I am a trophy hunter and I have this on my backlog, but I think I will not bother with the plat.
This unfortunately is my least favorite platinum I’ve gotten. The last 20ish hours I was so bored out of my mind but I had come too far to quit. I also had an almost game breaking bug on Geonosis.
On a random sunday i looked up the skywalker saga platinum, never heard of you but saw you posted this an hour ago. If thats not a sign to subscribe idk what is lol, great video!
With completing the planets, I think I will do the ones that don't look as much fun to be on or to complete compared to other planets (D Qar and Pasaana), require more work (Tatooine), or I hear are challenging to do (Endor). So far I have done Hoth and just finished almost all of Mos Eisley on Tatooine. I think I may save planets like Coruscant, Kamino, and Cantonica towards the end and get through planets like D' Qar, Geonosis, Pasaana, and Dagobah earlier.
My brother attempted to complete this on Switch and the fact that he didnt finish it goes to show you how much of a tedious grind this game is 😅. Not looking forward to it when i get around to the game one day. I've been attempting to complete Lego Batman 2 and so far all of the free play stuff is done, just leaving the open world. Considering there is 250 gold bricks and I don't even have half of them yet, I'm not looking forward to the rest of it tbh. But anyways great video, and get well soon!
I platted this game twice. By the 2nd time i was just using a sith and a droid and just lifting the droid over to the kyber bricks and swapping to the droid character. Saved so much time
I am playing this game right now since it was free on plus, I am just doing the main story first, some collectibles are only accessible after unlocking all the character types. Loved the Plants vs Zombies theme over the track at the beginning. I got the Platinum and I spent a total of 126 hrs according to my PS5😤
Got the Platinum, did take me around 100 hours but I'm no expert game player like others. But it was a grind, so was Rayman Legends, that took me months, showing my skill and age I guess. Good video.
It was definitely super grindy, but for the most part I didn't mind the sheer amount of collectables, but maybe I'm the outlier (podcasts help) - I will agree that the back and forth side missions were a bit much, though...
It's not that the collectibles are difficult, it's that they're pointless which urks me. This is my job to platinum games and this genuinely felt like I wasted part of my life 😂
@@MayorHairBear ah yeah I didn’t mean to imply they were difficult just the amount of time it took - yeah you’re right about them being pointless, but I suppose that’s these games in a nutshell! We’ve all absolutely got a bit of Stockholm syndrome when it comes to LEGO games… but this one does take the cake and for sure could have been trimmed down haha
You said it so right, the collectables was basically brainrot, I was just watching some stuff while doing them individual. it wasn't so immersive and when you had done around 50 of them, all of the other "puzzles" was the same
I’ve been so close to getting this platinum for months I just haven’t gone through the story missions to get the level challenges and mini kits. I did everything else but I got burnt out.
I've done this grind twice (almost) no I'm not joking I got a PS5 about 10 months ago and I've always played on my Switch before I did get myself The Skywalker Saga on my Switch and 100%ed it now that I have a ps5 and I still love star war I thought it would be a good idea to do it again and get the platinum spoiler alert it was not a good idea and I'm not even close yet (got the game 1 month ago).
Get well soon, bud. I'm glad you didn't pull any punches in showcasing exactly what goes into completing this game. Would you say this or Crash Bandicoot 4 was more demanding to platinum?
ive also platinumed this game and tho it was fun the fact for some of the missions in some levels requiers you to play thay level sevral times not to menchen the puzzles in the open world maps aswell as some of the repeat missions dont get me wrong i loved the story and i made the choice to 100% it i just made the wrong choice to get the first couple red multiplyer briks befor finishing episode 1
The most annoying part of this game to me is that I had it 80% completed and loved it. Then booted up one day after 1-2 months away and had my progress set to 0. Never had this issue with any other game ever. Sucks that it happened to such a grindy game and one I enjoyed and put a lot of time into
Congrats on beating the Star Wars challenge and this game. 🎉👋✊ So far I've completed the story mode on the prequel and original trilogies and have yet to finish the story mode on the sequel trilogy. Once that's done then I'll do the open world and then return to the story missions in free play. Even though this game is a lot I'm determined to complete it after having done Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
It can't be torture if the game is fire. I have played 60 hours and need to finish only the planets and there wasn't a time I would be bored. I loved it much more than Assassin game plats.
I would currently rate this game around an 8/10 or an A or B rating on a F to S tier. Lots of content for Star Wars fans to enjoy whether it be the planets, ships, characters, or movies with great combat and graphics and fun puzzles to do. Not to mention cool features such as characters talking to one another in a party and lightsabers making marks on spots they hit. However, they should have lessened the amount of kyber bricks and certain missions specifically the smuggling missions, and instead focused on making some of the levels longer, made more of the battles from the movies playable rather than just cutscenes, allowed 100% completing planets right away, and reduced the amount of planet hoping for certain side quests.
I have had a good time actually 100%'ing the game, but I did it with a friend (thanks to steam Localplay online) and I believe it made the whole progression event better, planets taking half the time since we could easily split to do our bricks on our side and helping the other when we were stuck, and god this game is well made for multiplayer. Like the LOTR lego game is absolutely awfull to co-op, the game posing for the second player whenever you do anything else but running, on that game it feels like you are playing online with just the split screen, both have differents maps, roster of heroes, yet each briks count for the two players, etc TL;DR : I loved the 100% of that game even if at the end it began to feel long, but it definitely help to play it with a friend, the game is awesome with two players.
worst grind for me was the persona 5 strikers platinum, all because of one trophy that more or less forces you to do the same boss fight over 100 times to get levels for the perk system
I (unfortunately) bought the season pass version of this game. I love Complete Saga, LSW 3, and I thought Force Awakens was enjoyable enough, and by the time I bought Skywalker Saga I had been getting into grabbing ‘platinum trophies’ for my Steam games and finishing all achievements. I’ve always loved at the very least getting every minikit in the old Lego Star Wars games, I’ve actually finished the original LSW1 and 2 many many years ago, so I was very ready to deal with Skywalker Saga. Then I saw the levels weren’t really actual levels, *the 1,000 Kyber Bricks* , the open world was 50% walking, 49% side missions and 1% pretty to look at I guess, the secondary objectives in the ‘levels’, the fact 90% of the things to do are in the open world and therefore can’t be replayed again unlike an actual level, and the five million races/puzzles littered everywhere staring me in the face when I look at the map. I got to Episode 2 just before the Droid Factory when I went ‘This is boring’ and uninstalled the game. Massive respect to you and anyone who actually does platinum this game, I just couldn’t take it even in a regular playthrough. I don’t exactly regret buying it buuuut I’ll just go back to 3 and Complete Saga. Get well soon (didn’t realize you actually liked the game on its own, I didn’t but to each their own lol)
I definitely get where you're coming from mate, again I just like it from a casual perspective but completely agree from a completionist mindset. This game is not good and filled with rubbish content 😂
I would have the Platinum, but got tucked over by the Dreadnought glitch, it won't spawn to get the last Wookie and Shooting Challenge. No way sm I re-doing 70 hours for that 😢
I just finished my 100% on this game after taking a year long break. Definitely one of the longest drag of a completion, but not my least favorite completion. Overall a Definitely fun game Casually but completionist is brutal and repetitive
What is the grindiest platinum trophy/ 100% completion you've suffered through?
I really liked this Star Wars Lego game, but I can’t imagine trying to 100% it!
Definitely rayman legends, not for the playtime but for the time locked challenge grind for max rank-it quite literally became a daily chore
@@bananabread_23 you have my sympathy

With the upgrade to bounty hunters that gives extra money for kills, it was a very fast farm
I did see that, I think it's still good I just didn't have the bounty hunters upgraded at the time and went full steam ahead for about an hour in the levels!
The 17k studs is a reference from a new hope. That's how much obi wan and Luke pay han for the ride
80 hours for a LEGO game! You're a trooper!
Appreciate it mate! 😄
Get well soon. I hope you recover quickly from this grind.
I am a trophy hunter and I have this on my backlog, but I think I will not bother with the plat.
I'd recommend giving it a miss, just not worth it 😂
@MayorHairBear I usually quite enjoy finding collectables, but that is an absurd amount 😅
No one is mentioning the facts that a Lego Middle Earth in this style would be ELITE
A perfect example of a great game destroyed by collectables thanks developers.
Spot on mate!
This unfortunately is my least favorite platinum I’ve gotten. The last 20ish hours I was so bored out of my mind but I had come too far to quit. I also had an almost game breaking bug on Geonosis.
Yeah it's a painful slog towards the end, I've got a lot worse games on my platinum list but this was definitely a disappointing platinum experience
Can't wait to play these now 😁
Some definite fun to be had, just maybe skip the plat here!
Great job finishing the trilogy! Get well soon!
Thank you mate!
I recently platinum'd Robocop Rogue City. It was one of my favorites. Simple but very fun.
I've heard the Robocop game was a good time!
On a random sunday i looked up the skywalker saga platinum, never heard of you but saw you posted this an hour ago. If thats not a sign to subscribe idk what is lol, great video!
Ay there you go mate, welcome to the channel!
No suffering I use the game too chill in between harder games
Get well soon man
Thank you mate 😂
Get well soon brother! 😅congratulations btw
Appreciate you mate!
The Bully music at the beginning go's hard
It weirdly fits so many games 😂
With completing the planets, I think I will do the ones that don't look as much fun to be on or to complete compared to other planets (D Qar and Pasaana), require more work (Tatooine), or I hear are challenging to do (Endor). So far I have done Hoth and just finished almost all of Mos Eisley on Tatooine. I think I may save planets like Coruscant, Kamino, and Cantonica towards the end and get through planets like D' Qar, Geonosis, Pasaana, and Dagobah earlier.
get well soon
Thank you!
Yeah the gold bricks, kyber bricks whatever the games wanna call them are never too fun to complete but hey, best of luck mate!
Get well soon and check your area for free asylums, such a Plat can make you go insane.
Good point mate, I'll be on the lookout 😂
I platted this game twice. By the 2nd time i was just using a sith and a droid and just lifting the droid over to the kyber bricks and swapping to the droid character. Saved so much time
Yeah I did that a lot on this playthrough, saves so much time!
I finally 100% completed this game last night! Been playing since May the 4th!
I am playing this game right now since it was free on plus, I am just doing the main story first, some collectibles are only accessible after unlocking all the character types. Loved the Plants vs Zombies theme over the track at the beginning.
I got the Platinum and I spent a total of 126 hrs according to my PS5😤
Still hoping for a journey persona or warhammer 40k darkwing space hulk plat videos all great under represented games
Persona might be a bit of a wait but with Space Marine 2 releasing this year we might tackle some 40K soon!
I am doing it now and I hate those collectibles on the levels but on free roam they are cool and relaxing
You said it so right, the collectables was basically brainrot, I was just watching some stuff while doing them individual. it wasn't so immersive and when you had done around 50 of them, all of the other "puzzles" was the same
Right! Just turn your brain off and catch up on some videos or shows, it's so boring!
Great effort!
Thank you mate!
I’ve been so close to getting this platinum for months I just haven’t gone through the story missions to get the level challenges and mini kits. I did everything else but I got burnt out.
The galaxy grind is the hardest part, the level completion you can do it mate!
Completed the game myself, and as much as it was fun, 100% it was a pain with all the collectibles ._.
Yeah the collectibles are just far too much!
Thoughts on your next Assassin's Creed platinum? I plan to try Mirage and the Chronicles Trilogy after The Skywalker Saga.
My next AC plat will be 3 but I'm giving that a rest, I burnt out hard after the Ezio Trilogy
Makes sense. I can see you are doing the games in order.
Get Well Soon!
Always appreciate the support mate!
Get well soon, bud. I'm glad you didn't pull any punches in showcasing exactly what goes into completing this game. Would you say this or Crash Bandicoot 4 was more demanding to platinum?
I love a collectible, the more the better, but this one was a tough slog
Too few games get collectibles right in general but if you have meaningless collectibles for completionists at least make it a small number
ive also platinumed this game and tho it was fun the fact for some of the missions in some levels requiers you to play thay level sevral times not to menchen the puzzles in the open world maps aswell as some of the repeat missions dont get me wrong i loved the story and i made the choice to 100% it i just made the wrong choice to get the first couple red multiplyer briks befor finishing episode 1
The most annoying part of this game to me is that I had it 80% completed and loved it. Then booted up one day after 1-2 months away and had my progress set to 0. Never had this issue with any other game ever. Sucks that it happened to such a grindy game and one I enjoyed and put a lot of time into
Oh damn that's brutal mate!
@@MayorHairBear good video man keep it up
Congrats on beating the Star Wars challenge and this game. 🎉👋✊
So far I've completed the story mode on the prequel and original trilogies and have yet to finish the story mode on the sequel trilogy. Once that's done then I'll do the open world and then return to the story missions in free play. Even though this game is a lot I'm determined to complete it after having done Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
I've been working on this for the past 2 weeks, it is truly exhausting.
Yeah it's a rough one mate, best of luck!
@@MayorHairBear 81 hours to complete. Brothers in suffering.
Get well soon 🫡
It can't be torture if the game is fire. I have played 60 hours and need to finish only the planets and there wasn't a time I would be bored. I loved it much more than Assassin game plats.
hey mayorhairbaer will you make the platinium wheel again???
Soon enough, with the Star Wars grind done I'm getting back to the wheel game
I wish they made a FULL Clone Wars DLC with all seven seasons
i will be going for this. cant wait after watching this
respect for no saints beanie, been deplorable the last few weeks...
Had to retire the beanie until they start putting in some effort 😂 Best of luck with the platinum mate!
I'm just built different I guess! Get well soon!
I don't know if I wanna be built like that 😂
get well soon bigast grind was marvel avengers or wen i ded the syphon filter back to back all 5 games
Avengers would be an almighty grind, well done!
@@MayorHairBear i ded ghet the incredibals and ader older lego games hoping they are les open wold have u platinumd darksiders seres
Like the LOTR lego game is absolutely awfull to co-op, the game posing for the second player whenever you do anything else but running, on that game it feels like you are playing online with just the split screen, both have differents maps, roster of heroes, yet each briks count for the two players, etc
TL;DR : I loved the 100% of that game even if at the end it began to feel long, but it definitely help to play it with a friend, the game is awesome with two players.
The biggest grind I've gone through for a platinum would be the shampuru grind on Mugen Souls.
13:35 cough cough (Starfield) cough cough
I considered playing this. I looked up the PSN profile and noped out pretty quickly. I can't spend this much time playing a Lego game.
Good move mate!
I would want to do that but the grinding would be a torture.
The grinding is a whole beast, would not recommend!
I'm so Jelly, I get crazy motion sickness of this game. I made it through episodes 1 - 6 over 2 months, cant play more than 30minutes at a time.
Get well soon.
Appreciate you mate!
bro spitting flames talking about a Lego Middle Earth game
worst grind for me was the persona 5 strikers platinum, all because of one trophy that more or less forces you to do the same boss fight over 100 times to get levels for the perk system
Oh damn that sounds brutal!
No way sm I re-doing 70 hours for that 😢
Damn that sucks mate! Totally get it, I was petrified of a bug like that happening because ain't no way I was doing all that again!
I've never been so happy to play on Switch so no trophy's. Just dang that's a lot of hours of playing and picking up studs.
Look if this wasn't my job, I ain't completing this game I'll say that 😂
Hell yeah I almost done trying to get the platinum trophy of this game
Good game casually but more fluff than a pillow factory.
Very well said, I like that!
Am I the one who actually loved the grind
Get well soon 😂🫡
Thank you mate, appreciate you!
I just finished my 100% on this game after taking a year long break. Definitely one of the longest drag of a completion, but not my least favorite completion. Overall a Definitely fun game Casually but completionist is brutal and repetitive
