Sorry to repeat the last 100 comments but the captains tone and feeling in playing is outstanding. Something we should all strive for.
4:12 Part of a player's 'feel' is how they deal with the rig they have. The tone oozing from the Captain here is palpable. The near feedback, get rolled into the tone, so well.
You sir, are very kind!
***** mate, I don't care what anyone here says, but clearly there are people who agree with me. Some of the worlds greatest players, aren't really very technically proficient. BB King, Muddy Waters...etc etc etc. The list goes on and on. Mate, I don't know if you know it, but you have MUSIC COURSING THROUGH YOUR VEINS. End of. How well you play, technically, and personally, I think is pretty damn good. But what you have an incredible amount of aptitude for is feeling and tone. When you play, I feel it. I have to listen over and over. I know everyone thinks Rob is awesome and he is, and I don't want to turn this into a Chap VS the Cap thing, but I don't feel Rob playing. He is obviously incredibly technically proficient and clearly a genius on the fretboard, but I don't personally feel it. And if you look at history's greatest, most successful guitar players, like Jimmy Page....he was just playing the 12 bar blues over and over in a million different ways. And we all know he's a genius. And even Eric Clapton, your fave, while technically proficient AND a tone genius, he's kind of an anomaly and I would argue still more a simply player who you feel. Again nothing against Rob, but it's hard not to use him as a comparison. I liken Rob to someone like Joe Satriani. Obviously Genius, obviously a technical master, a wonder to watch play...but I'd rather listen to Muddy Waters...after all he did invent electricity;-) Anyway - Love to see you do a blues playing channel where you jam just blues stuff!
Woodeso's Guitar Mods Wowser - what a lovely message! I've got my first batch of the Stax Master pedals arriving soon (this is a pedal I co-designed with Sean from LovePedal), so I may well do a solo video for them. I hope I live up to expectations!!
Mate do it please I beg you. I know most of the fans of this channel would shit themselves to see you play and demo something for 15-20 mins. Especially something you designed. Yup, do that!
Love the riff played at 2:53!!! Very creative and musical!
Cheers mate, that's new Dorje :-)
Don't know how many Danish fans you've got but I think I might be your number one Danish fan haha :)
Glad to see more frequent gear vids again :)
Ooh the epiphone's on the wall look very nice!
which models are they?
les paul florentine
Sionyn Jones Or the ES-LP like Gibson's
no they were never called ES les pauls
www.andertons.co.uk/semi-hollow-amp-hollow-body/pid33207/cid670/epiphone-les-paul-standard-florentine-pro-guitar-vintage-sunburst.asp#
I couldn't find anything on Epiphone's website. Maybe Chappers or the Captain could enlighten us.
I always love The Captain's playing, but in this one he killed it! It was awesome! He Is a great Blues player and I look up to him very much.
The bit from 4:12 may be one of the best bits the Captain played for some time. Really enjoyed it!
8:34 I've been using my first finger as a plectrum since I started playing, 1997.
I'm a pretty bad guitarist, but I never felt the need to use a plectrum, I always loved the sound.
Absolutely love watching these videos in the morning while drinking my coffee. Chappers and Lee never disappoint.
Love the new ending, White Dove! Sounds great, can't wait for the album!
I stopped playing with a plectrum about 4yrs ago and started using my index finger as a plectrum. I tried it out for fun at first and somehow I just found it easier to play over time. If you persist at it then you'll eventually be able to do pinch harmonics and shred too. I've never had problems with losing/chipping a nail, and I honestly believe I can control the tone of a guitar far better now. I recommend all guitarists give it a shot!
Captain!! Wow!!! Sounded absolutely awesome!!! LOVE the blues tone. Mind sharing what your pedal board setup is like???
I love you guys ! always funny and entertaining to watch and also a lot of useful videos info and tricks for guitarists :) keep up the great work
Rob, playing with your fingers makes you sound like a rock god! Love it. I would love to see more :)
i feel that they got such a monster tone from a combo of good amp, good pedals, nice guitars and just the freedom to dive into the sound as they had done a few videos on the amp before.. I reckon get some more videos that you guys find fun to do and just shred/riff it out.
Loved the new record of "White Dove" at outro, nice!
Very cool. P.S. Really looking forward to some PRS S2 Hollowbody reviews!
Yeah, i can hear the Jeff Beck type effect wit the fingers, also the overdrive/delay adds to this. Seems like a decent amp to have around
Absolutely love Lee's solo's, got a kind of Angus Young feeling to it:D!
Lee's tone is stellar in this vid.
Lol I loved how at the beginning of the video, Lee said that Chapper's tone is high gain and his is moderate gain. That midrangey (I'd say pretty high) gain from the Plimsoul made in feed back like a mother!
Rob, you were getting some very David Gilmoor type sounds in the mid part of this video, it was sooooo nice to listen too.
I'm loving the new pedal boards & Robs new song sounds sick (you can tell its a Dorje song \m/)
I love these videos , always so informative and as well makes me laugh lol
hey Chappers, any chance you could do a quick video of how to play that riff you play at 2:53? Sounds killer. love you!
Gotta say Rob's tone is good for hard/heavy rock, but Lee's tone is immense. Thanks to plimsoul (which I also have) and EP boost I guess :D
Captain, your playing and tone at 4:14 and following - gorgeous! What pedals were you using there?
***** ooo man that first tone you demoed was awesome
Great playing blues meister Lee!
Will their be a base line model of the cap 10? its your only HHsHH guitar last I looked. Honestly I am not versed enough in guitars to know what I should want I prefer the way you play Rob over Lee's traditional blues rock play style. Currently I have HH HH phat screamers by dragonfire but I want to buy a real guitar soon and what to avoid buyers remorse as much as I can.
hi Rob! I can't remember if you guys have ever reviewed the Ibanez tsa15h, that'd be really great! Have you ever played one? What's your opinion about it?
When i think about you... "I Touch Myself" - Divinyls. Excellent australian 80s rock. Unfortunately Chrissy Amphlett died of breast cancer last year. :(
The Captain tone is fucking gorgeous!
Cheers man!
***** Hi Captain Anderton!
We NEED a video on those Florentines!
Panic not.... As I always say, if its hanging on the wall then thats because we're going to video it! (I need a catchier version of that saying - please feel free to suggest one)
Great! How does ''If it's on the wall, it's coming to y'all'' sound?
Andy Birger I like it! Consider it stolen!
I'm not worthy!
Florentines?
www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/ES/Gibson-Memphis/2014/ES-Les-Paul.aspx
Another awesome video! Following on playing fingerstyle, please could you do a demo of the Jackson JS32-8Q 8 String? Curious about how it would work as a guitar/bass hybrid with the F# and B dropped to match E and A bass strings, as opposed to duggahdaadaduggahdaada djenty stuff - it also looks less metal :) Thanks :)
cool vid, as always.
definitely need to use some more Schecter guitars, especially after hearing you guys were playing one with the Duncan Nazgul pickup!
Maybe they'll demo the KM-7 soon...
Kwert Either that or the Banshee series would be nice :-)
Rob, a bit off topic, but will their be physical copy's of the Dorje album available?
The tone at 2:53 is fucking incredible. The low ends are so tight.
The amp sounds a bit muddy to my ears which is probably the solid state part. How much bass was dialled in on the amp?
When I play my Strat i prefer playing with my fingers when you snap the string with your fingers like that it sounds extra amazing.
Can't wait to see that '56 LP in the background. P90 power!!
I love that natural ml1
"Thinking about the elements" and then an elephant sound...I lost it.
How long has that Sports Direct mug been sitting there now? That must be growing
Are those ES-Les Pauls on the wall? Want a demo review of those!
cool amp. love the ml 1 natural finish it looks pretty old the finish is wearing well at the contour.
What's with the lespauls and the f holes? Is there going to be a video on them soon? Thanks :)
Hi Rob, nice video! You should make one about Joyo/Harley Benton pedals, they are really cheap and nice!
The guitar Lee has is so damn beautiful!
What type is it?
Where can i order one of the andertons t-shirts? I really want one.
Will we ever see your ML3RC in action!?
What do you use for that ending song? Tell me it's another Dorje song cus that is awesome
I love that tone from 5:01 to 5:10. What pickup position and effects are You using captain?
Cheers - can't remember what pup is was, but my favourite tones on the Cap10 are from the neck humbucker.
that's the neck pickup ( Seymour Duncan jazz ) with the plimsoul distortion and carbon copy delay I think
Have to say liking the Cap's tone in this one, nice playing too, sorry Chappers but today Lee's playing wins in this one for me ;) still nice playing all round
Cheers Mr Holmes - I'm living proof that better gear makes you better! Ha ha!!
Can you do a video on leads and pedal connectors? I need something reliable and reasonably priced.
man what pedals is lee using when he's playing about 5 minutes in? the tone he gets is awesome!
He is using a pedal board they made up a few weeks ago Fulltone Plimsoul,Arion schz chorus, MXR carbon copy delay,Xotic ep booster,Fueltank junior power supply and TC poly tune tuner fitted on to a Pedaltrain mini board.Check out the 2 part video he did with rob chapman.
Am I the only one who finds it highly amusing that nat pops up when rob says wood?
Very nice to hear guitars and aps that all sound the same, but It would be nice to see something different, like hollow body guitars or some budget acoustic guitar review
you guys should do a demo of the washburn parallax series
What is the wattage of the matrix vb800 and the price in usd? It sounds glorious.
Is the ES les paul that different from the epiphone wildkat? Besides having humbuckers instead of p90s what's the specs?
what's the song rob plays at 2:52 love that riff!
It's called Flower Of Life from the album I'm recording in Sept with Dorje
Awesome, get it out as soon as!
Cannot fucking wait for the new album
Chris Wills That's what she said
well I'm convinced -I'll take it
Cheers the The Captain and Chappers.... from Phoenix Arizona
Rob or Lee, will you guys be demoing the Mesa/Boogie CabClone? that thing seems amazing
Yes - just trying to get hold of one - they aren't in the UK yet. But we'll do the CabClone vs normal mic'ing review. I'm looking forward to it.
*****
Sweet! Thanks Captain :D
Mark Farrow We don't carry the Seymour D pedals at the moment - I know they exist but I rarely (if ever) get asked for them. If I start getting asked about them then I'm sure we'll reconsider.
500 notes is a lot to spend on a back up for the average player, I think my EvilRobot was only £50 more! I have HT-1 head as a back up with the emulated line out to the PA it sounds incredibly good for what it is and that was under £200.
DING-BLING new email alert :Rob Chapman just uploaded a video, put everything down make a coffee..click 1080p and Chappers and Lee time. Life is full happy little moments.
Britain must be a great place to live. All the people I follow from there do a lot of "Cocking About" w/ their carefree attitudes. I remember when we could do that here in America ... Those days are gone it seems. Nothing like watching The Captain, and Chappers while I drink my Morning Coffee. Bit of Caffeine, Music, Humor, and Randomness to start the day.
Rob, you need to do a 'How loud is a Matrix VB800' video.
Rob Chapman We need some How loud is Treatment for this amp...
Ditch the cab and bring in Mesa Boogie Cabclone and you have a super small rig!
I smell a Les Paul Florentine review coming soon!
why does this look like it was partially green screened? are my eyes starting to go?
im very fond of lees sale techniques :))
is that the echo i can hear when you stop ?sounds strange.
amazing amp omg
OK. Lee, it's time to open additional Andertons and take your show on the road.
So what kind of Guitars are those?
Fire, Grass, and water are the starter elements
Is that a Chapman guitar version of the Capt's guitar, or is it a Chapman guitar neck on the Capt's American Standard Strat
Its a Chapman CAP10 (see what we did there?) - its essentially a Chapman ML1 tweaked to be a bit like my white Fender Strat. Its been pretty popular.
We really need to get more of these in the states
those les pauls on the walls look cool
i always use my first finger as a pick!
What are those Les Paul Hollow bodies! thier b-e-a-utiful
Lee! You need to do blues lessons. You're tone is immense!
I have a bad habit of dropping my picks right before the most important part of a song so I kinda got used to using my index as a plectrum. It's especially painful when that section is in a super fast punk song xD
The Quilter Toneblock does the exact same thing half the size & price...
Using the first finger as a pick is fun. I can do it, not as good as a pick though, but a fun challenge is trying to do pinch harmonics that way. And if I can do it so can you guys
Also Lee! You are an inspiration for my blues
I play most of the time with my first finger, I really find that more confortable, a it gives you a special tone that I appreciate a lot. But of course, it is not suitable for every style.
By the way, Chappers and Captain, you're amazing. I wish I could see you someday. Come in France ! Don't know why, but find some reason to !
Godchichouin and come to the netherlands too! Just for good measure
I have to say, after playing guitar for about 3 years, I've decided to never use picks again. And I play the heavier sort of heavy metal which often includes shredding and harmonics. I'm not half bad, and your first finger is more versatile than a pick in many situations.
Cai Durkan Versatile ! It is the word !
Can you do a vid on the new gibson Les Paul supreme's?
please do a review of a Fender Mustang 65 Classic
so this is where flower of life come from!
6:05 the Joker by Steve Miller Band!
More Walnut ML-1s I was going to make an order in two weeks :(
Grrrrreetings!
I think you meant it's a lot of watts for not a lot.
A shame i don't like the sound. The concept of such a small amp it's genius.
Do you guys play the guitar?
Errrrr... yes. But if you're just looking for some super serious reviews, then you're on the wrong channel!
***** No but i searched up vitalyzdtv and it came up with this video at the top
Any walnut ml1s going to riff city?
someone should photoshop a picture of rob as the seagul from family guy hahha
I would really to hear them play some acoustic guitars oncein a while, all 1378 videos rob has ever done are on electric guitars, it needs a bit a mixing up (i think so).
Search his channel for Faith..
They have done a few acoustic reviews before, not just faith guitars either
you must be a new viewer haha. They actually have shot a few acoustic videos. My personal favorite is the taylor acoustic mini review.
What's the song Captplays on 6:08 ?
