It was spot on. It's exactly why I don't put my parents as emergency contacts. They'll lose their mind.
@@praisejesusrepentorlikewis6218 Brilliant, another liar for the baby jesus doing his utmost for atheism.
as a side note: when i had to go to that little interview for elementary school they asked me my parents names, and i told them my dad was called “Grusel” because that’s what everybody calls him, and they only other name i knew apart from “papa”. He’s actually called Jürgen. My mam was so embarrassed.
Amazing
Why did they call him a Grusel?
@@duncanhw Closest translation would probably be "scare"
@@duncanhw ‚grüsel‘ would be ‚scary‘. I‘d guess ‚Grusel‘ would be a diminutive based on his last name, ‚Gross‘.
@@andrea8764 No no, absolutely not, haha. Grusel means something creepy or a scare, gruselig means scary. Eklig means gross and gross/groß means tall or big. Grusel and Gross have absolutely nothing to do with each other and Grusel also is no diminutive at all.
As a Vancouver resident living beside a house with 20 Irish lads, I support this guy's choice.
Very wise decision. 😁.
Must surely be, the McGibney’s.
the one on first and commercial by any chance?😀
Lucky you, bet they can't afford much in pricey Vancouver. Must be good craic with those fellas.

I recently had my US visa interview and these questions are super accurate. This is actually not a comedy sketch, but rather a PSA on what not to do 😅
Are EU citizens really only allowed to stay 3 weeks in the US on a tourist visa? That seems crazy short. As a Canadian I'm used to being able to just rock up to any border and get a 90 day rubber stamped.
@@moara4144 I'm not an EU citizen so I wouldn't know if it's different for others, but I believe tourist visas for everyone is max 90 or 180 consecutive days within the country. A multiple entry visa allows you to leave at the end of 180 days and come back later for another 180 days
@@kellynbotha german here. i remember it used to be 6 weeks for tourists but got shortened to 3 "recently". idk if that got changed back
@@thecursed01 hmm, I imagine EU citizens don't have to apply for a visa at a consulate and can just fly to the US? So the stay period is shorter than for those who went through a visa application process? Because I haven't seen anything anywhere about a 3 or even 6 week limitation for me
@@kellynbotha It was an online process. I remember it annoyed me that I first had to book hotels and then apply for being allowed in, because they wanted to know when I would be where. was about 3-4 years ago
I love the matter of fact intonation of "I like fish fingers"
No emotion behind it whatsoever, love it.
Lovely sketch lads!
Spoken like a man who has had to explain the nickname a million times over! :)
He seems to take his fish fingers very seriously.
I think 'captain birds eye' is his IRA nickname
Are fish fingers like chicken fingers??
Aah Arms is finally getting grilled by the Embassy guy and gets a taste of his own medicine! I just cracked up at that expression you gave after saying Paddy's day 0:54 😂
I looked a 5 different takes to find that!!
@@foilarmsandhog It's *perfect*
That expression reminded me of John Lennon for some reason!

Can relate to the “in case of emergency” contact and the fear of putting my mother’s name down because she would kill me if anything went wrong 😄
They wouldn't be as fun videos from Daniel I'm guessing...
Absolutely
I had to go to the ER on a vacation. It was the first without my parents. They told me the bill wouldn't get home until after the vacation so I wasn't concerned. Lo and behold the next day I get a frantic call at the hotel from My Folks! The bill was already there, but didn't say what was wrong. I had hives from something I'd eaten. Argh! Mom went on and on for a while. 🤗🖖💕
I'd say "don't worry, my mum will surely get to know it soon enough, she seems to get all the news from around the globe".
@@mariosebastiani3214 😂 Yes, very true!
I love your hair in this Arms. Slightly stupid to match the character, but otherwise tidy and beautiful. Also, the lad seems like a relative of Barry.
At least a cousin, SURELY?
I think the hair can be described as a ‘legendary bowl cut’
Finally someone appreciates the finer details
He's a cousin of Chris from Squatters2 and a long lost uncle of Barry! (He went arooound... What am I even saying)
The hair gives me Dougal McGuire vibes
Once a young nervous Irish lad was in front of me at US customs. They asked him if he had used drugs, he replied that he was visiting for holiday, NOT for employment. Things went from bad to worse after that.
Ooohhh... Poor lad
I don’t get it? (non-native speaker here)
@@sweetsandcharades8383 By insisting he was "NOT visiting for employment" and emphasising it, when asked a completely different question, it was evidence of nervousness and panic. Since he was so anxious to insist he was not being employed the opposite must be true and he gave himself away as a liar, he therefore was obviously trying to gain access to the country to work.
If he was so nervous he got that basic question wrong, you can guess how badly he answered any follow up questions.....
@@felicitygee381 Ah, thanks!

Haha. John the ‘fridge’ Cullen…big chest small legs. That made me laugh. It’s great to see the Irish lad back and a nice little familiar joke at the end there as well. Fair play to youse lads.
Sometimes I get emotional just thinking about how much I adore em 🥺❤️
I love Foil's delivery of "I do _not_ know" 😂
Haha, the "Official No" and all the other "no" types made me laugh out loud. Does this count as practicing my Dublish though?? - Anyway, shtick down a "yes" for me re: your April gigs! And have a great time overseas!!
Thanks!!! See you there
Do be doing!
I read the overseas as overstaying somehow...
It's the "I'll do me best" on the leave date.
Thinks he's doing them a favour
I’ve always found those “terrorism and espionage” questions Americans ask totally hillarious. Like, even when you’re coming from Europe. My grandpa who doesn’t speak English once ticked “yes” to all those questions when he went to America (he had no clue what any of the sentences on the paper he was given ment) and he actually got arrested by US border guards at the airport.
probably one of the few things good here is you can request any government for in any language English isnt mandatory when dealing with the gov
Probably giving each other hi-fives and saying "we got another one!" as they did it. Pretty hilarious that they expect someone who has done any of those things would tell them.
I don't think they ever expect anyone to say " yes" to these questions but i believe they ask anyways so they can charge people with lying to an official if they do something wrong. Probably easier to prove than a terrorist charge
I've heard, but have no idea if it's true, that this is to bring any such crimes to the federal level, in addition to any state laws you might be breaking.
lol you'd think he'd at least tick no if he didn't understand what it was asking unless he didn't even know what yes and no meant in which case someone really should have been helping him 😂
As an American, I'd like to apologize for my relatives who keep finding you on Ancestry. I will not apologize, however, for the fact that we have a yearly St. Patrick's Day party to celebrate our miniscule Irish heritage; I enjoy the corned beef and cabbage too much to give it up.
You TELL them merely being Human! (or do you just prefer human? Or maybe Gertrude? Let me know?)
You guys made st Patrick's day a thing!
Nothing wrong with celebrating St Patricks day. Just as long as you dont call it Pattys day haha. Remember its Paddys with two d's
Interestingly now we wouldn't eat corned beef here in Ireland but it's a big thing for the Americans with Irish ancestry because the Irish who emigrated there after the famine and that whole era found that corned beef was an affordable meat and as they hadn't exactly much money, it became fierce popular amongst them. And that's why ye eat it on paddy's day because it is literally an Irish American neotradition
I don’t think I’ve ever even seen corned beef before
I have literally whitnessed an instant with an irish guy similar to that at the US customs 😂 It was hillarious 😂
How can one not admire Patrick's absolute laid-backness
He thinks he's taking to a mate
To a fellow lad, even
i think this was my favourite performance by Arms to date! the last bit (with the "yes or no" questions) was acted with a lot of nuance -- and hilarious timing!
Now you got me wondering when my favourite performance of his is... Already know I'm gonna have to separate the singing from the acting parts, otherwise it'd take forever haha
Agreed. This was top tier acting
Love it. I like that he was denied, because the USA be like that sometimes. Also it is nice that you do this so we can forget all the problems we have for a few minutes every Thursday. Thank you!
Appreciate them so so so much 😊
Damn right. Depressing 99 percent of the time
Yes, feels like the Palahniuk's greatest hit is unrolling right in front of our disbelieving eyes.
After paying for the visa and after the interview lol. It was the first time I tried to visit the US so I was very confused. And they wouldn't tell me the reason for refusal!

If you look at the amount of views a sketch has after a week and after a month, only three sketches in the last 1.5 years managed to double this amount. And thanks for sharing Gemma 😊
I’m appalled 😱… I haven’t seen that one about the countries! Going straight there now!
I've had Irish roommates and this is exactly how they were TO THE T. amazing.
I'm really impressed at Foil's American accent. There were only two or three times it didn't sounds put on! This had me laughing aloud! Really needed it this morning.
It was the "whilst" that gave him away.
@@candiceanderson3933 "person or government authority" for me.
The “whilst” caught me, I’ve never heard an American use that word.
It was pretty bad. Funny sketch though.
As an American who's good at accents, it was really good.
“Shtick me down for that then and I’ll do my best” 🤣🤣
ah US embassy ask the weirdest questions like "do you have any comunists in your family" ... when my county was under comunist dictatorship and joining the party was mandatory for most jobs.
I was like "alive or dead?"
I feel you, I feel you 😀 If I was asked that question, I´d answer "Nope, the opposite". (My family were dissidents, my aunt was tortured for smuggling Christian books to Yugoslavia.) But I don´t know if the American clerk would understand that 🙂
@@martavdz4972 Hats off to your aunt!
This. It's not like the visa clerk is not going to spend any time understanding the distinction between political prisoner and common criminal, especially when they have quotas to meet. Egh.
As an American, I’d like to apologize for any of my countrymen who were/are oblivious knobheads.

@@SamFAHntha your dad is his doppelgänger too?
Ha ha. Really good one.
True story!
I'm an American and I got a contract in the UK - I was hoping to become a permanent resident, but...
Anyhoo, after a couple of months on the job, UK Immigration calls me in for an interview and part of it went like this:
Immigration Officer: What's your mother's first name?
Me: Oh, dear God, not this.
IO: You don't know you're mother's name?
Me: I'm not sure which one is her 'legal' name.
IO: How many does she have?
Me: Three, last count. Can I call her? I'll put it on speaker phone.
So, we call up Mom and she explains that on her birth certificate, it's 'Clara'. On her driver's license (and nearly everything else), it's 'Clare', and on her passport, it's "Claire".
Amazing!
Yaay, Irish lad is back. Loved the joke with the craic, a few years ago I didnt know what that was either and thought you meant crack . I was sooo confused all the time.
Oh gosh, that's not gonna be good for their reputation if people don't bother to research it a bit 😂
"Do you seek to engage in terrorist activities"
This has to be the most useless question possible
Not useless. It's for legal purposes. If you answered no and did engage in activity categorized by the question, then it's an intented obfuscation when entering the country.
From what I recall they have to have an official response from you on the legal document to heighten the punishments for those who engage in actual terrorist activity to include spying.
A lot of questions are treated as 'bounded statements' that tie you to them for greater legal determinations.
Years ago the UK was going through a phase of 'we must be seen to be dealing with the possibility of certain types of organisations (e.g. Freemasons) favouring each other in employment recruitment processes'.
So I was asked in a job interview 'are you a member of any secret organisation?'.
??!
I remember the moment I realized my mother had an actual name. I knew everyone else called their mother the same title, but the thought mine had an actual name never occurred to me. Once I had the thought, it seemed so foolish to have never realized it. I wonder what other things in life are equally as obvious but have still never occurred to me.
...my obvious miss was not realising that the rear and front number plates were a different colour...the family opposite always parked their cars facing opposite directions, and for the longest time I thought that some cars had only yellow number plates, and some only had white plates 🤦♀️
I completely broke my niece's mind by telling her her mother's name. She started crying like crazy and my sister was so mad at me for upsetting her. She was already 5. How could I have known? We were making a card and had run out of "m" stickers to use, so I suggested her name 😅
Because no one ever called your mother by her given name in front of you? Including your father, her parents, her siblings, her friends, and your cousins? ("Aunt so-and-so") I don't get it.
Loved the lil bit at the end about craic, It’s too often people misunderstand and think im having a good time in another way than intended 😂
The very very best version of an Irish lad out for the craic and the laugh!! Brilliant facials! Brilliant dialogue! And actually brilliant US official! G Ire

So funny 🤣
Of COURSE he said that 😂😂😂
I entered the US in 2000, just before all hell broke loose globally. I was on a UK passport, after an 11 hour flight that had crossed the international dateline is the right direction... So I was quite confused at landing half an hour after taking off, on the same day!! (had two 30th Octobers that year, I have never flown the other way, so I've got a day to spare).
I was approached by a young immigration guy, he asked me some questions and I was focusing on being serious and sombre as they are renowned for lacking a sense of humour. But I had chosen to stand in the ALIEN line... because I reckoned that was right. He found that quite funny, and we developed such a rapport that when he scooted back to the "standard" questions and asked me if I had more than 10,000 in dollars I answered "I WISH!!" and he laughed for real.
Thinking about it, I seem to have had quite positive experiences in flights generally, not forgetting the time my agent screwed up and I arrived at the airport to discover that she had got the flights all wrong, and after a visit to the desk, and a message to my agent, I discovered that she had been woken by a phone call from a pilot who had been listening to my tale at the counter... and he got me onto his flight. I actually arrived earlier than planned, and straight to Heathrow, which is 20 minutes from basecamp. I must have a little travel elf.
Oh I LOVE Irish lad! He is just too cute for words. 😊😂 Well done, Arms!

Ahh - the inevitable " 'crack'/craic " routine. I think it was 1987, the first time i had someone relate to me the story of how their cousin was stopped at JFK by immigration or customs or whatever and asked what brought them to the States, the reply being (obviously) "Ah sure, you know yourself, I'm here for The Craic..!" etc. Still, in fairness to F.A&H, I think the 'Crack - Pun Joke' has in fact been contractually obligated in sketch shows of this sort for some years.
There's a pretty funny example of a 'craic' joke in the live version of FAH's "How To Speak Dublish" sketch (it's around here somewhere on their RUclips channel).
I love how you guys reference older jokes
Agree! Do not call parents to shock them in emergencies!!
