- Daredevil Real Cool Fuzz
Original custom artwork design by Casey Sass of Revolution Tattoo here in Chicago. This was an homage to the late great Ron Asheton of the Stooges. The circuit itself is based on the fuzz he used on the first Stooges album. This one has lots of treble bite, cool oscillations, and different tones to dial in. Back off the gain to find some octave type fuzz vibes. Full tilt and you can still cut through the mix with sonic vintage fuzz.

"This pedal is a tribute to Ron Asheton" ~Plays James Williamson riff~
Jajaja that's right, *palm-face*
*and plays it wrong too*
Be nice.
TV Eye is from Funhouse; Williamson didn't join until Raw Power LP.
@@markferguson3745 true, but Search and Destroy is a big chunk of this demo.
Love Ron Asheton's guitar playing! One of my favourite all time players!
Almost bought one off ebay UK just because of the artwork, possibly the coolest looking pedal I have ever seen.
Williamson played with a a 69 LP custom tru a VOX AC30 Top Boost to record the whole album. no pedals
She got a TV Eye on mehhhhhhhhh...yeh !
from what i understand from an interview ron said he didnt ever use a fuzzrite, ive seen a picture of him using a marshall supa fuzz though. the fuzz rite works pretty good for stooges stuff but as a die hard ron fan and a pedal builder for a living i have spent hours and hours researching his tones and what he recorded with and there is little to no info about it. rest in peace ron ashton
Well since this video is about a Ron Asheton style fuzz I better play Search and Destroy.
I was being sarcastic but that's not always clear through text
I certainly got it. WTF????
Also, "Iggy Pop and the Stooges??????"
@@ThePT5speed came here for Ron Asheton left comment for Bongwater! 😂
He was a bass player in a band saw Hendrix live and decided to play guitar. He played Strat > Fuzz Face > Marshall loud according to that article. My ear tells me fuzz rite / acetone / maestro because it’s so ratty and square waved off and I fuzz faces are a bit cleaner to me.
Ron asheton didnt play guitar in search and destroy
Yuri Cetra if ron asheton record raw power (1973) it would be good
Yes he did, but James play it live
spiralarips Ron Asheton played bass on that album.
That's a damn dirty tone! Wonderful sound
Ron Ashton looks surprisingly like Dwight Schrute. :)
I just got this pedal and it's actually not very dirty. Even when you max out the knobs, there isn't THAT much gain. It's like you'd need 2 pedals to get a full, in-your-face fuzz. It's got a unique tone but... I dunno, I was expecting an out of control, nasty fuzz.
How is your amp set up?
According to Ron in a guitar player interview, he never played a mosrite pedal. It was the Hendrix fuzz face pedal that he used on the first two stooges album. I think it has silicon not germanium. They did model this pedal close to that sound of the early stooges.
garysmithsontv Vox Tonebender Mk1 apparently...
There was no “Hendrix Fuzz Face” in the 60’s. Just Fuzz Faces.
@@TheStompboxer lmaoo
lose the up strokes and you got it
People. it was a decent sounding fuzz and put some bucks in his pockets (I hope) otherwise, staying positive here: having a piece of musical gear made to emulate your sound? sincerest form of flattery. I hope he got a (quick) kick out of it if nothing else.
First two The Stooges albums, not Iggy and The Stooges albums.
semantics
No. Music.
@@HashishUno There's a HUGE fucking difference. If you don't know what you're talking about, which you clearly don't, don't get involved.
I love this fuckin pedal and the tribute to a maximun player and rockandroller
how much gain is on the amp p.s. i love the stooges very much and this pedal has the tone perfect.
Very cool!
Ron used the Vox Tonebender.
Fuckin' awesome!
thanx!!
it's almost the tone of "sleep now in the fire" by RATM
Search and destroy it's from williamson era
Can't fucking believe you didn't play I Wanna Be Your Dog...
Or not right or no fun
Fuzz it and they will come.
The guitar playing is not tribute to Ron.
She gotta TV eye on me!!
I heard he used a rat distortion .
Sounded alot like 'Sleep Now In The Fire' by RATM :0
Cool pedal but need someone that knows something about the band.
Great sound. Lame review.
I wonder if Asheton's family is getting benefits from this... I hope they do.
It's real cool,but not $200 cool.
