Yikes. Hope everyone was OK in the accident. Never a good sign when they use the screens. Enjoy dear Scotland! Can't wait to be back there this Summer 😊
Largs is a good stopover. There is a free park up at the Marina, as you leave Largs heading south. 20 minute walk into the town, taking in the Pencil - a monument, which commemorates the Battle of Largs. Nardini’s Café a must visit. Also - ferry across to Cumbrae leaves from Largs and is a reasonable £20 for return trip (£34 if over 7metres) Crossing takes 10 minutes and the island has a good drive round it (10 miles). Main (and only) town, Millport, is relatively unchanged over the past few decades. Ritz Café traditional ices. Enjoy your stay and your new van.
Hi Bob and Jenny, what a terrible journey for you both and in the rain too. Do hope no one was injured in the crash. Sounds like you have a few places to visit. Enjoy x Julie and Tony x
What an eventful journey and start to your trip. When you see the van fire you realise why the clubs are insistent on separation distances, thankfully no one was hurt. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your tour, we do love Scotland, even when it’s raining. Come on Bob , make sure you say “bye then” 😂 best wishes and safe travels H&M.
We were going in the opposite direction Bob! We travelled from Strathclyde to Keswick on the 2nd! We also want to thank Jenny, after her talking about it, Santa brought Rummikub to us for Christmas. We've had great fun with it! Happy New Year to you both.
I was so relieved to hear that no one was hurt in the van fire. Let's just hope there were no fatalities in that awful road traffic accident. I was surprised poppy didn't start whimpering as you pulled up on site. Really looking forward to watching your adventures in 2024 🚐 Happy New Year ❤
We have just about got over our 7 hour drive to Bath and that was 3 weeks ago 🤣🤣 Winter driving definitely has its challenges but at least you arrived in daylight. We like Strathclyde Country Park. We actually stayed in the Hotel next to the Toby there once on the way to Skye. We decided to have a winter break in a cottage rather than drag the caravan all that way for just one week. Every time since then we have used the Caravan Park with our motorhome. Have an enjoyable few days and hope things are straight forward from here on. Safe travels ! Trev n Sue
I hate to see accidents, turns my tummy over, I hope nobody was seriously hurt. Bobs new car is lovely 😎 We may well have to end up at SC tomorrow for a stop over on our way North as Moffat is shut & our other half way spots are full or closed for winter 😏 Safe journey home, Em 💜
Enjoyed this upload and I thought Bob was going to tease you when you started filming his car, I must say thank you for filming my van in the storage compound. Take care and looking forward to your next upload.
Bad weather bob, you got there in the end. Thank you for showing us the sights, do you find it better with a car rather than scooters or bikes thx, bless you and Jen x
Never tried a scooter, but Jenny prefers it when we take the car. I do like a ride round on my bike. Hopefully our next motorhome will solve the either/or dilemma.
Hi Bob, Nice to see you and Jenny back in Scotland again. I see you were at the hunting lodge, pity they demolished the Hamilton Palace all those years ago, that would have been a sight to see. The black marble staircase that wase once in the Palace is now stored in the basement of the Hamilton Town Hall. Have you checked out the Mausoleum, its guarded by Two stone Lions ! that's the domed structure you can see from Strathclyde Park, on the other side of the motorway. Cheers Bill
Im 10 mins away. If you drive south m74. First exit head for Lanark . clyde valley route. Youll love i lived there for 13 yrs. You wont believe the change off the motorway.
8:48 Don't feel too bad about getting the lanes wrong going around the Raith Interchange into Strathclyde Country Park. That roundabout is just about the least intuitive junction I've ever encountered. I live about 30 miles away from it and pass through it on average twice a month each way going to visit my mum, who stays roughly the same distance the other direction - and I STILL regularly make a pig's ear of it!
Hey guys, well done with the strathclyde park roundabout,I live here and still can't get in the right lane. Ps some great garden centers on the road to lanark via rosebank. Take care guys 😎🏴
I'm glad they've repainted the road markings on that roundabout. When we were there last year a car undertook us just before the park turn off forcing me to stand on the brakes to avoid a collision. Nice to see that you're going to get some settled if frosty weather. I always say it's easier to stay warm if you're dry! Have a great trip 👍👍
Thank goodness for a nice cup of tea in the rainy weather. Oh, at the end, I spotted something else and why not. HNY. Buy then, buy what? It depends on how you say it.
Strathclyde is an ideal stopover for us en route home via storage and we stayed there for one night in September. The only problem was the toad noise , just wondering if the serviced pitches are any quieter? although I doubt it due to park being surrounded by motorways.
Hi Bob and Jenny thank goodness you are all there safe what a nasty journey I can sympathise as we have had the same here with the flooding at the moment in Worcestershire It looks a great site and accessible and clean I can see why you like staying there it’s a good base some great places to see there we love Largs have been many times and make sure you try the ice cream from Nardinis and go over to cumbrae it’s so pretty If you get time and Bob and Aileen know it alloway is gorgeous down the coast we got married there at the brig o doon hotel and it’s the hometown of Robert burns Also it’s lovely to drive from Largs to wemyss bay via the a78 and you drive up the river Clyde there are some great views Have a lovely time!
I saw your video of the terrible van fire. It would be good to learn the cause, mechanical or human. I guess there would be some kind of investigation from the site and the insurance company. Good to know no one was harmed.
If you're visiting Glasgow, watch out for the LEZ, if you're not Euro 6, then unlike England it's not a charge by a fine, £60 for the first offence increasing by an additional £60 per day -Day 1 £60, Day 2 £120, Day 3 £180...... tops out for Cars and vans at approx £290 per day, Buses and HGVs, keeps increasing until it reaches £960 per day. Ours in Dundee comes active at the end of May. My motorhome is Euro6, the car is not, just don't know how to the motorhome into the Multistorey carpark - maybe sport mode and a good run at it. Happy New Year
I had fireworks near me but they didn't keep on ,made me jump to start with, they were the consecutive on on ,then the rain started l could here it on my neighbour's conservatory roof,😅
Yes, should have said, there are two earths, one must have been for the plug electrics the other probably for the control module for the car. That's why the 12v seemed OK at the plug.
What a nightmare journey. So glad no one was injured in the camper van fire. Another great video.
Yikes. Hope everyone was OK in the accident. Never a good sign when they use the screens.
Enjoy dear Scotland! Can't wait to be back there this Summer 😊
The crash had a fatality I'm afraid.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo How dreadful. Gosh, no words...

Thanks, it certainly was eventful. Last day for us in Scotland tomorrow, think we'll be home before the cold snap.
Wow ur trip looks amazing
You work bloody hard so play bloody hard

Thanks so much!!
Enjoy your days there 😁
Thank you

Thanks yes, hopefully. We're enjoying our time at Strathclyde.
Love watching your shows ❤
Good to hear

Yes it's a shame about Moffat.

Thanks Roy, proves your van is still there. 😊
Well this is turning into a bit of an eventful trip. Very sad nasty accident involving a Jaguar and a van. Stay safe and HNY.

Thank you, we did see a picture of the Mausoleum in the hunting lodge. I'll probably have to go a find it in the park. 😀

Yes, there's some beautiful countryside around.
Went up to Scone on 27th, came home 3rd, en-suite toilet been leaking fresh water for around a week! Happy start to 2024 for us. 😂😂
Oh no, hope it's not caused any damage.

I’m the same 😂😂
If you head to Largs , it might be interesting for you to take the short ferry journey to Cumbrae.
We did go to Largs - next video, but didn't go on the ferry, we found plenty of interest though thanks.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo maybe something for the future, we went a few times there is a site on the island and it is incredibly cycle friendly

I think if anything the road noise is higher on the service pitches. It doesn't bother us, just a background hum, mind you I'm going deaf!
Hi, Your not far away from where i live now , 25 miles , its to be slightly colder and drier .
Last time stayed there the large roundabout was just being ammended to create the flyover. It was utter chaos...😂😂
Yes we remember it well. Much easier now they have built the underpass and the new roundabout.

These charges seem insane to me, who can afford them.
Thanks for the tip, fortunately our car is petrol and the motorhome is Euro 6,but I'm sure this will catch a few out.
I had fireworks near me but they didn't keep on ,made me jump to start with, they were the consecutive on on ,then the rain started l could here it on my neighbour's conservatory roof,😅
Think the rain kept the fireworks down.
Hi can I ask can you get into the caravan grounds through the entrance at Strathclyde Park at the motherwell end ?
It's long way round, but you can drive around the park if you don't mind all the speed humps.
What a day, looked like a nasty accident.
I was very nasty, a fatal accident.
Come on Bob, get the ending "Bye then" right or you'll be made to write lines!😂
Come on then spill the beans on the next motorhome
I'll let everyone know when we have a definate delivery date.
Your probably aware that the earth in a 12volt system is the same as a neutral wire in a 230volt installation. So no earth no functioning equipment.
Turns out there were 2 earths both hidden where they wired it
Yes, should have said, there are two earths, one must have been for the plug electrics the other probably for the control module for the car. That's why the 12v seemed OK at the plug.

Adaptive Cruise Control?
That’s the one …both of us were having a senior moment
Thank you, yes the stay a distance away from the car in front system. 😂
Brilliant video pals happy new year
