I agree with your stance but the podcast with Sahil adeem was frustrating to watch not because of him alone. You both were pretty unwatchable. From the start, the way of questioning was entirely different than your regular podcast. It was like you had an agenda to prove a point. And also the way Sahil was answering questions played part in making the whole podcast a difficult watch.

What about all the sahih muslim, sahih bukhari, sunan nasai where aisha herself says she was 6 when married and 9 when prophet has sex with her? Adeem is right about surah talaq which gives idda period of girls who are too young and not mensurated yet.... sad you are picking minor sources and ignoring major hadiths and quran. I begin in the name of Allah, all praise is due to Allah, salat and salaam be upon the messenger of Allah, his family, his companions, and all those who follow him till the day of judgment.
Hadith and Sunnah are used interchangeably from hadith parlance. Hadith (or Sunnah) is the sayings (qawl), actions (‘amal), and acquiescence (taqreer) of the prophet ﷺ.
From Islamic jurisprudence point of view, sunnah is used as something that is preferred (mustahab) in contrast to something discouraged (makrooh).
There is no third interpretation of the word Sunnah.
The preservation of Hadith is promised by Allah. Practically, speaking it is impossible to practice Islam without Hadith unless people want to use their own intellect (Aql) over the text (naql). This will undoubtedly be a ground for disunity.

Answer:
Consensus of the salaf was that Sahabah were all trustworthy and would not lie about the Prophet ﷺ. Aisha radi Allah ‘anha in hadith in question is informing us about the events that occurred in her life.
All sahabah and sahabiat are trustworthy. It is impossible for her to lie about the prophet ﷺ.
One, because it is unthinkable she will attribute a lie upon the messenger of Allah.
Two, sahabah would have criticized it and enemies of Islam would have played with it.
There is only one way to dismiss it, it is to prove that this hadith violates any of five conditions for hadith’s authenticity: Ittisaal as-Sanad (Continuity of the chain of transmitters), ‘Adaalah (integrity), Dabt (accuracy), Ghayr Shaathth (conformity i.e. does not contradict more authentic narrators’ narration), Laa ‘Illah (absence of hidden defect).
Nonetheless a marfu’ hadith is from revelation as discussed above. Allah says: “Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is not but a revelation revealed,” an-Najm 53:3-4

The fact is although Arabs were known to have strong memory, there were sahabah that were known to write down hadith in their personal notebooks called sahifa. Abdullah ibn ‘amr called his notebook sadiqah, Abu Hurairah called his notebook Sahifa. There could be more sahifas.
‘Umar bin ‘Abdul Aziz (d 101H) ordered Shihab az-Zuhri (d 124H) to compile hadith for general audience. It is assumed that he passed on his collection to his student Malik (d 179H). Imam malik wrote very first hadith compendium called Muwatta about which Imam as-Shafi’ee (d 204H) who was the student of Malik said he found Muwatta to be most authentic after the book of Allah (at that time Bukhari (d 256H) and Muslim (d 261H) did not exist).
Now, even if hadith books were produced after 200 H, one can’t use this argument to cast doubt on literature of hadith in general (some books of hadith do have weak or fabricated narrations, but you don’t discard the whole corpus because of that. There is an established science to discern between authentic and unauthentic). Remember it is the existence of chain of narrators which gives legitimacy to this unique methodology in the history of literature.

It so happened with Qadr of Allah, the sahabah had varying degrees of interests and abilities. Most of us know Abu Hurairah, Ibn ‘Abbas, Anas bin Malik, Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, and Aisha radi Allahu ‘Anhum. They focused their efforts on preservation of hadith while Zayd bin Thabit focused on preservation of Quran. While Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, ‘Ali radi Allahu ‘anhum were focused on well-being of the ummah.
This argument is often raised by Rafidah and Munkare Hadith. They do it either because they are not knowledgeable about Islamic Sciences or averse to learning them because it will take away their freedom of using their intellect without the constraints which hadith presents.

The majority of scholars say that age doesn’t matter. What matters is the ability. If she’s big and fat, can endure men and cannot fall ill from it (sex), then the husband can consummate his marriage even if she’s not nine years old yet. But if she’s thin and weak, and can’t endure intercourse, and can fall ill from it, then the husband isn’t allowed to consummate his marriage even if she’s old. This is the correct view.

6) Umar the 2rd Caliph married Umm Kulthum at a time when she was 10-12 years old. Some sources say she was five years old.
"'Umar asked 'Ali for the hand of his daughter, Umm Kulthum in marriage. 'Ali replied that she has not yet attained the age (of maturity). 'Umar replied, 'By Allah, this is not true. You do not want her to marry me. If she is underage, send her to me'. Thus 'Ali gave his daughter Umm Kulthum a dress and asked her to go to 'Umar and tell him that her father wants to know what this dress is for. When she came to Umar and gave him the message, he grabbed her hand and forcibly pulled her towards him. 'Umm Kulthum asked him to leave her hand, which Umar did and said, 'You are a very mannered lady with great morals. Go and tell your father that you are very pretty and you are not what he said of you'. With that 'Ali married Umm Kulthum to 'Umar."

. I did watch the watch the whole video and still stand with that scholars defending his position on quraan. The only problem is that he should have made his position more clear from the commentries of the islamic scholars like ibn abbas, al - jalalayn, al tabri, sahi al bukhaari ( who clearly states ayeshas age at the time of marriage). The rest of the scholars clearly explain that the period of iddat is 3 months for the girls who had not menstruated due to young age and nowhere there is mention of any illness. You can check for yourself( I checked it).

Finally, the grand mufti of Mecca Masjid, had to say clearly the age 6 marriage, Age 9 for Consummation of Aisha , then why this controversy, maybe you hate the hadiths, but others believe that.
Please don't go on dawn articles of so called scholars who are using means to circumvent what's written clearly in Hadiths. (Many call it clear case of Blasphemy)

Why did anyone spend an hour discussing the se xlives of someone (doubtful if they even existed, perhaps were mythological) from 14 centuries ago. Even if true, you can simply say, we discard/disavow that part of the faith.
Simply beyond me as to why people can't make adjustments to faith as they see fit. As a Hindu, I can simply state that I'm part of a new sect of my own creation which rejects the Manusmriti or any other Upanishad of my choice. I can literally choose a deity from the pantheon, with rituals that work for me (puja, yoga) and philosophy that I agree with (monism, deiism, monotheism, polytheism, carvaka (athiesm) etc.). Faith is a ladder for spiritual growth, it has to conform to my needs, not the other way around.
Adaptability should be the feature of a faith. Islam must bend, or it will break.

Women who have not menstruated can be divorsed. Age of menstruation is 9-16.

Personally, I am not a big fan of the concept Blasphemy. People should have the right to discuss and critique anyone, including God himself. In India, there has been a culture of singing 'Olaahana' which talked about complaints from God and many folk songs question god's decision and critique them. Till today, you will hear many people criticise Krishna for how 'Karan' was killed. Ram is criticised for Sita's Agni Pariksha. Censoring people's thoughts never stops them from thinking about the question.

That's a Sahih Hadith (i.e Authentic Hadith)... And there are almost 3-4 more hadith of her age at the time of Marriage and consummation... Also remember, Muhammad was 54 at that time...
