  • 351/366 - Am I very far?
    __
The 366 Project is a personal challenge to post a different song to RUclips every single day in 2016, a leap year. The goal of the Project is to better myself by learning and performing music of many different genres, using the videos to hold myself accountable.
    __
    Lyrics
    Must of been mid afternoon
As I could tell by how far the child's shadow stretched out
And he walked with a purpose in his sneakers, down the street
He had many questions like children often do
He said, "Tell me all your thoughts on God
And tell me am I very far?"
    Must of been late afternoon
As on our way the sun broke free of the clouds
We count only blue cars skip the cracks, in the street
And ask many questions like children often do
We said, "Tell me all your thoughts on God
'Cause I would really like to meet her
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God
'Cause I am on my way to see her
So tell me am I very far, am I very far now?"
It's getting cold picked up the pace
How our shoes make hard noises in this place
    Our clothes are stained
    We pass many cross-eyed people
    And ask many questions
    Like children often do
"Tell me all your thoughts on God.
'Cause I would really like to meet her
And ask her why we're who we are, tell
And tell me all your thoughts on God.
'Cause I am on my way to see her
So tell me am I very far
Am I very far now, am I very far now, am I very far now?
Tell me all your thoughts on God."

I can tell this song is like right at the peak of your range lol. I struggle with singing this song so much. I just can’t hit the higher notes for shit. My voice cracks every time. You did a very good job though, keep it up.

I've always loved this song. So 90s. The lyrics are so cryptic.

fantastic job- i would suggest you consider peter gabriel tuned such as “ in your eyes” or “ solsbury hill” - i think a perfect match for your voice and style - rock on !

Hey mate, loved your version of this song. Really brought back some great memories of the 90s for me. Which chord is that after your Bm7? Looks like an Am moved up a couple frets with the 1st finger on the high E, 2nd fret (?). Chorus looks/sounds like a D, E, G. Cheers man, keep up the good work.
