    Mónica Almendarez Alonso was born in the city of San Luis Potosí, Mexico on November 18, 1986. She began her musical training at the age of 15, with an emphasis on the electric guitar. In 2007 she studied at the Traditional Mexican Music Workshop, focusing on the Traditional folk music of Mexico, in particular in the genre of Son Jarocho.
    In 2015 - 2017 she expanded her musical studies at the Centro de las Artes de San Luis Potosí in the area of jazz.
    During the period 2017-2018, she accepted an artistic residency at the International House of the Writer from Bacalar, giving workshops on jarana, lyrics and jarocho tap dance. At the same time, she recorded an album, putting music to the poems of the director of this cultural centre, the distinguished poet Ramón Iván Suárez Caamal, along with his group "Los Tegogolo." She also participated with "Los Tegogolo in the renowned Caribbean Festival, bringing music and the fusion of son jarocho to different venues in this region.
    Monica is currently promoting her project as a singer-songwriter, having a vision inclusive of music, which is a powerful tool to create well-being and train social and introspective awareness in all human beings, regardless of their physical condition, psychological, cognitive and emotional.
