For SPAA ammo belts, it depends on how much ammo they can carry. Mostly for German, separate between HE & AP (not default) because they reload fast & can carry a lot of ammo. However for example the British SPAA (Crusader AA 20mm) take default belt. Slow reload & small ammo capacity do not give a lot space to choose between different ammo belts.

You can't just show a good AA gameplay and say, See peole AA are better than CAS. Using often my German SPAAs I can get 2/3 aircraft kill by myself, you will kill easily the stupid pilotes who will head on you or go full vertical in the middle of the map after a rocket pass. The problem is that most of the time the pilotes would know what they are doing and avoiding your AA or sneak attack you when you are shooting at someone else. Plus I'm not saying that every pilote can get 1 kill for each pair of rockets launched but even a guy who have no clue how to aim they can just spray all his rockets in one pass to assure a kill. On the other hand I'm not sure that everyone can kill a plane from long distance with an unpredicttible patern. Not forgeting that even if you know how to aim perfectly the Ostwind particullary often sparkle like crazy.
While I agree Carpathians is a pretty bad map, I will always think that Karelia and Port Novarosapieceifshit are the worst maps in the game, by a pretty considerable margin.
Karelia is the first tank map ever introduced and was really "arcade oriented" since AB was the only mode... Port is so one-sided, if your team is "average" you will be steamrolles no matter the nation ! Fulda is for me the first "realistic" tank map ! It looks like a Steel Beast map !
Here's the thing why you were facing bad lineups. I saw you were facing the British. Not exclusively the British, but a part of the enemy's tanks were British. It's impossible to make a good 5.3-6.3 lineup. THE ONLY tank tree line in 5.0-6.3 is the medium tank line. The heavy tanks and tank destroyers stop at 4.7, and then show up again only at 6.7, with the medium tanks being the only thing in between. I'm currently in this situation, with a 5.3 Challenger medium tank, 4.7 Churchill and 4.7 Avenger, and The only viable tank I have for use is the Challenger. The Avenger, albeit fast, isn't the best TD for 5.3, and my Churchill is basically useless, especially when I progress further, since the heavy armor will be completely useless against far superior cannons. And let's not forget the Churchill's penetration is only 110mm, absolutely useless at the higher BRs where I can face Tiger 2's.
Nicu Yaks are known for being amazing low altitude fighters, so just load them with the minimal fuel and wreck. But apart from that, I think that Zis-43 and ZSU-37 are quite underrated as SPAA, both are very capable.
Yaks are still planes that cost a very healthy amount of SP plus, they have close to none CAS value. Soviet 37mm SPAA is garbage compared to Ostwind or even M19, as it has smaller clip, worse RoF and very noticeable reload while being very very fragile even for HE plane guns. It is very difficult to hit and even if you do, they often spark, so no. I don't find them any good as SPAA. 357 games played on ZSU-37 is my experience.
Nicu of course they are not as good as other SPAA, but I wouldn't call them garbage. Still, the soviets didn't create better SPAA at the time so I guess using fighters is your best chance
FINALLY, I'm so tired of various youtubers complaining about allied air spam, Germany gets without a doubt the best AA guns between the Wirbelwind, Ostwind and Kugel. Recently I decided to see if I was just being biased since I admittedly play Americans/Brits the most, loaded up some German games with a Wirbelwind in my loadout and it was absolute heaven. I could get 1-2 kills in my tiger or Panther, die, spawn my Wirbelwind and consistently down at least 3-5 planes for almost 2500 spawn points.
Brendan Kerbrat meanwhile wirbel's 20mm is ridiculously underpowered (talking about an individual 20mm, four combined can and will do damage if they dont spark), kugelblitz doesnt have 60 degrees/s turret rotation
bullshit, the planes have all the advantage tanks and spaa dont and let me remind you how easy it is just to get away from spaa fire when you're diving down on an unsuspecting tanks.
Question. If the mode is domination. You're in your... let's say Tiger II. Suddenly there's 2 Wyverns in the air completely anihilating your team. What will you do. If you get destroyed by the plane and jump into AA. You'll most likely get roflstomped by enemy tanks. If you take another tank, You'll get roflstomped by CAS. 90% of the time if you take fighter plane there's allready a Spitfire in the air. And if you're like me a shitty pilot. You'll get roflstomped by enemy fighters. I'd say im pretty good in my Coelian. But there's little i can do when the allies have 4 planes in the air by the time i reach first cap point in my Tiger. And when you do take AA first You're undermining your team's offensive capabilities. They sure will have a plane up. But how many, when ?

It's not that hard to coordinate with some teammates to put up air cover. Take a wirbelwind or ostwind to cover your team from CAS, maybe have a BF-109 up doing CAP. Also correct me if I'm wrong but isn't one of the main complaints for merging rockets that "SPAA is too hard to use I have to aim at a 3D moving target."
ƃN Ⅎ I find axis easier from my experiences. A smart axis player will have a SPAAG or 2 up by mid game. This directly counters allied CAS. That's perfectly fine in my opinion. A good allied CAS pilot will cap ground vehicles while a good SPAAG driver will do the same to CAS planes. The trick is to not have too much SPAAGs that can't fight tanks, just like allies can't have a ton of planes in the air at once. It revolves around smart team coordination and knowing what's in play and what to bring into play.

P47 is better at ground attack but all German fighters out turn it. On a small map like those tank maps, and with a full bombload, the p47s won't be able to run away. German fighters superior, German tanks superior, german AA superior.

from my experience, the team that will start early CAS spam losses.
cuz they dont have tanks on the ground. especially on maps where you have to cap 3 zones.

Supreme Meme Machine You do realise the current rocket damage model is incorrect as of 1.69 right? The Cromwell with RP-3s has the correct model of how the rockets should be, instead of some wonderweapon which can land 3 meters away and destroy everything in a tank.
ƃN Ⅎ No I'm mad because rockets were fine if your team wasn't a horde of mongs and actually had a few people run AA support and down the attackers. It's not that hard to coordinate with some teammates to put up air cover. Take a wirbelwind or ostwind to cover your team from CAS, maybe have a BF-109 up doing CAP. Also correct me if I'm wrong but isn't one of the main complaints for merging rockets that "SPAA is too hard to use I have to aim at a 3D moving target."
ƃN Ⅎ I find axis easier from my experiences. A smart axis player will have a SPAAG or 2 up by mid game. This directly counters allied CAS. That's perfectly fine in my opinion. A good allied CAS pilot will cap ground vehicles while a good SPAAG driver will do the same to CAS planes. The trick is to not have too much SPAAGs that can't fight tanks, just like allies can't have a ton of planes in the air at once. It revolves around smart team coordination and knowing what's in play and what to bring into play.
