- In today's video I'm photographing Red Kites in the beautiful Chilterns. I get treated to absolutely stunning weather conditions and can't quite believe my luck. I hope I managed to successfully capture some of the beauty of the day, I'm very pleased I remembered to bring my drone with me. The Red Kites were out in force, and I managed to come back with a whole host of different images! Oh what a day it was, I hope you enjoy watching the video as much as I enjoyed making it.

What a day for your workshops! Fog looked epic!
Thanks Henry ☺
Yes Marc! Banging video and visuals.
Thanks Ben 😃 looking forward to seeing your India videos
Just found your channel and funny enough, I was on this exact hill last Sunday shooting red kites. It's perfect in the morning as there is no one there and you get that lovely view over Oxfordshire. Lovely stuff 🙂
Hello! Ah what a coincidence, it's such an amazing location isn't it - beautiful scenery & wonderful wildlife! what else could you ask for. Thanks for the comment
What a lovely winter scene, thanks for sharing these great shots Marc ❤
Thank you for the kind words Matt! Much appreciated 👍
Amazing video again and beautiful red kites 😊
Great video Mark and happy to be your 1k subscriber👌
Thank you very much 😊
@@jonward1987 Cheers Jon! Feel like you should get some sort of prize or something 😂
Next time we meet, let me bring you a camo chair for Christmas 😅. Great filming and images once again 👌
Hahha, I think that would be a good idea! 😂
excellent
Thank you 😊
Great video Marc. Really enjoyed it. The light on the kites was amazing. Great stuff!
Thank you Keith - they were pretty incredible conditions! Thanks for the comment ☺️
That surprised you Marc! Not actually your Dad, "Keith Humphrey". @keithhumphrey7529 ..... great name! - and thanks for the kind words for my son
Hi Marc, only discovered your videos yesterday. Very informative and relaxed. Ref more zoom mentioned here, I had the 100.400 great lens for the price, and very lightweight, but unless light was good it suffered. Have now got the 150.400 and the difference is amazing. Fair bit heavier though.
Hi Dan, great stuff - thanks for your comment 😊 I'm very jealous of you for having that 150-400mm... maybe one day I'll be able to afford it. I'm looking to test out the new 150-600mm soon, so hopefully that could solve my problem!
@@marchumphreyphotography I was very lucky that I had a small pension payout and Park Cameras did a black Friday deal of 10% off.
Super nice photos! A 150-400/4.5 woeld have been good.🤣 And congratulations on soon having 1000 subscribers. Your work deserves it.
Hi Richard, thanks so much for the kind words! haha yes, 150-400 would've been great 😂 just waiting for santa to give me £7k to buy one now...
Great video Marc and stunning images, thank you for posting. You certainly deserve more than 1000 subscribers.
Thank you John, that's incredibly kind! Cheers for watching
Great video buddy, that image you used in your thumbnail is stunning!
Ah thanks Olly, that's greatly appreciated mate 👍
Another great video mate 👌🏻
Top man, thanks Adam 🙏
Great video, awesome drone footage mate 👍🏻
Thank you buddy!
Hey Marc. Consider the 40-150 f/2.8 Pro for the zoom out you're wanting. It's a superb lens!
Hi Mark, just discovered your channel. Great laid back content. What lens/ lenses are you using for your bird photography? I would love the 100-400 f4.5 but too expensive. I shoot a lot of varied insect photography, for aesthetics and ID and birds. My partner being an ecological scientist. I tend to shoot most subjects with the 300mm f4 and 90mm macro. I combine both these lenses with the 1.4 teleconverter. The teleconverter lives on the camera almost acting as a sensor shield. It works great with both those lenses. I can't quite work out what lens you are shooting with. Your photos are great.
Hi Derek, thank you for the lovely words! I almost always have the 300mm stuck on my camera, with or without the 1.4x. I too would love the 150-400mm but way too far out of my price range 😂 I think I'll be investing in the 100-400mm soon, I'm aware of it's downfalls, but I do find myself wanting a zoom a lot of the time
Amazing photos Marc, what a location too! Whereabouts in the Chilterns is this location? Thanks.
Thank you very much, it's such a stunning place. Unfortunately it's not really a location I want to share as I run workshops here, if you're interested you'd be more than welcome to join me on one: www.marchumphrey.com/red-kite-workshops
Work it out yourself. Plenty of clues
Ahh another “left-eyed” photographer, pia the smudge on your glasses
Haha yes! I often think that I should work on training my right eye to be dominant, but haven't got to it yet... Maybe 2024 is the year
@@marchumphreyphotography tried it but somehow it doesn’t work for me 🫣
