🖋 I'm starting my 8th month on MJ 5mg, down 59lbs. At this point, my Dr says I can stay on 5mg, no need to titrate up. Labs are looking great.

Just had my appointment with Join Fridays. Super easy and convenient. My CVS can’t get my Mounjaro OR my Zepbound anymore so I’m leaning into compounds. I’m excited to not have to battle with Eli Lilly’s shortages anymore. My poor pharmacist is doing her best, but it just isn’t available. 😊

I was on mounjaro 2.5mg for 2 months then 5mg for 3 months and I was titrating up to 7.5mg and it was NO WHERE to be found. I missed two shot weeks and was titrated to 10mg zepbound by my doctor because that was all that was around. It was a JUMP to go from 5 to 10. But I LOVE the control of that 10. I'm starting my second week of 10mg but its under a compound via JoinFridays! I used your code for that first month discount. Thank you!!! It was very easy to get going and get labs - and voila. My meds arrived yesterday and I took my first shot tonight. I wish I could have stayed at 7.5 for a while but this is how its panned out. I'm eager to see what differences I feel with the compound. Anyway- thanks for the great video - take care.

🖊️Love this video! I loved this advice and the discussion around titration and when to do it! It’s hugely personal and there are times I wished I could have stayed at the lower dose longer, but that is where it’s so vital you have a trusted and knowledgeable Dr/ medical professional that you’re working with! Can’t say enough for Join Fridays and the just quality of their platform and the providers. Time for some exercise videos to keep moving!

Thank you so much for your tips. Where do I begin to tell you how grateful I am for your. Videos. First let me tell you my experience with Mounjaro and sleep apnea. I took a sleep test a couple of years ago and I had 92 episodes in only one hour. I was diagnosed with sever sleep apnea. Of course. I went the way most people go and was given B-pap. Stronger than a C-pap. I asked to be put no Mounjaro 11months ago. What a life changer! I have lost 87 pounds. The end of February I returned to the doctor to have blood work done. He asked me how I was doing with my B-pap. I told him I no longer used the machine because I did not need it. He looked at me in disbelief and anger on his face, but did not respond verbally. I had stopped when I stopped snoring like a freight train.
I don't know if my breathing has improved because of the significant weight loss or the Mounjaro. I can tell you this much. My sleep is better, my health is better and my blood sugar is now under control. This is a great tool for us. When people ask how I have lost so much weight, I just answer lots of work and Mounjaro. Hope your birthday was great Liz. 🎉

*Hi Elizabeth!* And dog-shaped space where Mr Freddy used to be. 😕 🐕
Nice vid on an important topic! 🌟
On slow-titration vs fast-titration: Even if you just end up in the same place in the end (just earlier w/fast titration), slow-titration likely still wins for most ppl.
Because - and beyond just the mental calm of knowing you can still titrate up if need be - there’s generally going to be fewer and less intense side effects w/slow-titration.💡
And, not just directly from the meds *themselves,* but from the weight-loss too.
You know all that pancreatitis and gall bladder issue stuff the media likes to trumpet 24-7 (for views/ratings, at least in part)? Yes, it’s real, but rare, and a lot of it occurs due to RAPID weight-loss, and not so much the meds themselves.
Weight-loss is NOT a race, and hopefully no one’s feeling the need to impress anybody.
Losing very fast will not increase your final total amount of weight-loss any… but it *may* very well increase your side effects. 😭
Oh, and btw, that graph at 10:12? Seems to be largely inaccurate. 🙁
It’s from an otherwise excellent article in The Economist (‘Could Weight-Loss Drugs Eat the World?’ - *bad* title, good article)… and, weirdly, that graph doesn’t even seem to sync up with their cited source(?) (a 2024 article from Nature magazine).
For instance, graph says CagriSema is in Phase 1 trials, and Retatrutide’s in Phase 2.
In actuality, both are in Phase 3, and have been for awhile: the main trials for Reta are 9 months into Phase 3, and CagriSema’s over a year in. Huh? 🤷‍♂️
It also lists Tirzepatide as in Phase 3, when we all know its been on the market for two years now. Guess they could be talking about the trial for ‘ultra-high-dose’ Tirzepatide… but probably not, since that’s a Phase 2 (although a big one).
IOW, keep the article, punt the graph. There’s lots more accurate ones out there. 🌟
Going back to titration for a sec… well, EBID (EveryBody Is Different), but for myself, seems like 2-3 months on each dose level is about right: a nice balance of weight-loss progress and lower side-effects.
Of course, T2D ppl might need to move up a bit faster/higher for good WL… and *everyone* should consult with their doctor first on dosing. It’s not a game. 👩‍⚕️
I myself blew through the 2.5mg in just 1 month *(mistake,* as it was just starting to work well in the last 2 weeks of it), but otherwise did stick to schedule pretty well. YMMV, and again, talk to your doc. 👍
Later Elizabeth, and I hope you get over your illness quite soon. As you know, I was sick recently too, so right there with you. I do think something’s going around currently. 🤒
    G’night all. 🌙 👋

🖋️✒️🖊️🔏✍🏻Love the video, thank you, Elizabeth! 👸🏻👑🌟💖 Your experience, strength & hope truly are beyond helpful! Oh and loved the phrase: (& surely I’ll botch it!!) ‘keep the lesson, not the scar’. As I’m still pretty new to you, that phrase finally made your signature phrase actually ’click’ for me (“It is my experience, strength & hope for you…”) I didn’t quite understand that for some reason, but nowwww it finally clicked for me!!😅 We’re lucky to have that from you, so thank you for that!
I’ve got 1 shot left of the 2.5mg on Mounjaro that I’ll have next Tuesday. Then that should conclude my being on 2.5mg for 2mos. I am ready to titrate up to 5mg. I’ve had a bit more nausea than I did on my first month, but the food chatter/foodnoise is not quieted enough for me & have lost only 1 pound this month. My first month, I lost 26.4 lbs very quickly. I tried to stay on the 2.5 as long as possible, but I feel ready to move up & hope the side effects won’t be too bad. 💖

🖊️. Another great video. Thank you ‼️🎉🎉🎉. I started the 7.5 last Sunday. I have not noticed the no hunger and fullness like I did on the first two levels. My blood work and A1C is great. But I’m kinda “stuck” right now. Not losing weight. Not sure why , possibly not getting enough protein. Water intake good. Movement needs more attention. I’m going to start the chair palates. I tried the wall palates and I know it sound strange but I really don’t have an open wall to exercise at. So, on to chair work out. I’m excited to see how this affects me. 🎉🎉🎉 ❤❤❤

🖊️ Hey guys, just a little tip from your ex pharmacy lady lol- if you guys are traveling with your pens or any prescription for that matter the pharmacy never minds to reprint the label so you can have an extra one for travel. I haven’t personally looked into it, but I have heard that the pens should be kept away from light so keep that in mind. 💜

Everyone is different. But I do know someone that have been on 2.5mg for a year and is still losing. Also know someone that's been on 5mg for 6 months and everything is still good.
I said from the beginning that I thought people were being titrated up too fast. Taking a larger dose than needed can cause unwanted side effects.

🖊️ thanks for the info! Question about traveling to Europe with a compound. In the past, I’ve changed up my injection day to fit my plans, but this trip is longer than the others and I don’t want to do that. I think I can leave the compound out for a week until I need to take it again. But my question is- can I take this on the airplane with me? Compounds don’t have a written out prescription like Zepbound. I’m confused and nervous about how to go about this! Any advice? I’ve watched the videos on traveling and researched on the Facebook group, but I still feel I don’t have my answers. Thanks!

Hello! Thank you for all your recommendations. I have a question…you are always following Lilly’s recommendations regarding injection sites and as I understand (since I am new to this) they also recommend a titration dose starting at 2.5 mg for 4 weeks, 5 mg the next 4 weeks and so on until you reach to 15 mg. Why then, is anyone to ask a provider to keep more than 4 weeks in a specific dose when it is supposed to be up?

🖋🖊 Elizabeth, I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I am wondering if we choose, for example, to stay on 5mg instead of titrating up but the effects are lessening (food noise is back, feeling hunger) if we had the extra stock, maybe taking a 5mg shot every 5-6 days, how that would work... I've got 2 months of 5 and 3 months of 7.5. 5 isn't working great the first day and a half nor is it working much on the last day.

I just uploaded a very similar video this morning on my titration schedule.
Do you think why you stayed on 2.5 and 5.0 for only a month and was because there wasn’t as much info out there on titration bc this med really exploded over the past 1+. I remember when I started in March ‘23 I was seeing some chatter on people staying on an extra month.

🖊️Hi Countess, I am taking my 9 th shot, next Thurs. which is my 4 th -5 mg of Mounjaro my doctor wants me to stay on 5mg the next 3 months, called my pharmacy and they said they are out of stock of every dosage for at least a month. Called other pharmacies, one has 5 mg, another has 2.5mg my ins covers all the cost. “Thank you God” my question is: if I have to go to compound’s for Mounjaro can I get my ins. to cover the cost. Or does the compound pharmacy only take cash?? Thank you,Love all your videos and updates!

I’ve loved my dr and how he had me nitrate up. Of course I was on Ozempic and the ones are different. But I went up slowly and .25 increase each time so I was on 1mg and had been for 5 months when my insurance went oh wait we need a pre authorization for this lol I’ve been MJ for 3 wks I take my 4th shot sun. But I did tell join fridays I may be loosing a little but I’m staying hungry and having to fight that so I’m titrating up. I think it’s important for people to go slow and not be eager to loose huge. I think that has been a huge factor in side affect issues. I’ve had none other than comstipation… 🖊️🖊️🖊️🖋️🖋️enjoy your weekend! My next purchase will be the ninja ceami (shh don’t tell hubs)

How long does 1 dose last 4 weeks? 5 month's? People are saying they have been on the same dose for example 5 months. Eli Lilly said go up every 4 weeks ,?

    • @Akihito007
      @Akihito007 5 месяцев назад

One dose lasts only one week. So you’d have 4 shots in a month.

    • @pinkfix777
      @pinkfix777 5 месяцев назад

When they say they’ve been on the same dose, they mean they have been on the same amount of milligrams for x amount of time. When on Mounjaro and Zepbound, the prescription is one box at a time. The box has 4 pens. Each pen is administered once a week.
So each box lasts 28 days.
