The letters on your plates are priceless!!
RIGHT! Not very suitable for a Crown Vic, but still!
The simple changes go a long way! Also those headlight locking clips have such a satisfying removal sound!
I totally agree!
I like the black panel as well.
Last year my 05 Marquis got hit by one of local opium junkies in my doctor's office parking lot.
Most everything went back together great, a local body shop did the work and insurance covered it.
But their were two areas that gave him and me fits.
The first was the chrome colored pieces of trim, that are recessed in the bumper. Turns out that, at least here in the states, the right width is very hard to find.
I also noticed that on side chrome colored trim recessed in the door trim. I simply can't find it.
Another issue, apparently common on these cars, if they're involved in a fender bender. And even if the airbags don't deploy, depending on force and angle, it can trip the seat belt light and a sensor in the seat belt assembly. And that turned out to be a huge problem.
You can not buy new seat belt assemblies from Ford , or even find them at aftermarket parts stores, for love or money. They've been backordered for years apparently.
So be prepared if you get in a fender bender to do two options:
1 is to go to a salvage yard and remove them from a wreck, preferably one where airbags weren't deployed, and make sure you research how to take them out because that's important. But you coukd end up with seat belt assemblies just like what you took out of your car.
2 is the best option, for right around $100 to $150 , you can remove your existing seat belt assemblies, making sure to follow directions very carefully, and ship them off to shops that reset them and offer a refurbishment service as well. The process took about a week, I chose a company in nearby Massachusetts, and they send back detailed instructions how to put them back in, so you don't screw up the new sensor.
Taking them out and putting them back in was super easy following the directions, took maybe 10 minutes each side-, and I've got nice refurbished belts that retract really well.
Just something to look out for if you get in a minor fender bender. Here in Maine, a seat belt light means you will fail inspection and can't get a new sticker.
I really dig the older tail lights with the amber turn signal
All black on that rear panel looks better in my opinion. Good video!
Thanks.
2 bolts on each side under the fender & end of header panel let the fender move enough to put it in without being in a bind. No gap or alignment issues.
Good to know for next time! Thanks
Thanks for the vid, I need to replace my header panel, front driver side fender and bumper cover. Going to the yard tomorrow to pull parts off of one. I definitely like the black tailpanel better and the black over the chrome. I want one of those grills for mine too, but in glossy black, mines a black car.
Sharing the Video to My Crown Vic Club I'm sure they will appreciate it.
Awesome thank you!
@@OldeCarrGuy You are welcome my Friend 👍
Make it look like a Grand Marquis!😆
I’d leave the back panel black. Looks great 👍🏻
Thanks
Your welcome!
Brand new used.😎👍
I wish you did a mercury marauder clone swap on that crown vic since you can swap header panels from a 03 to 05 grand marquis to a crown victoria, I hope you get to show us how to clone a marauder 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Black out is better on the truck panel. I do wish you had been able to show more of how you got the header panel in and out.
Once you get in there, you will realize what you need to do with relation to what I did.
With the dark windows, the new panel looks better black
I'm liking it too!
Don’t paint to match…the black trim and panel looks so much nicer.
Blacked out is better looking.
Agreed!
Hey, you should fix that tractor up!
haha
Its "out" not "oot" and its "about" not "aboot"...lol Sorry a pet peeve of mine and how words are pronounced. Great content as usual!!
Sawry!
👍👍🇨🇦
Question ❓ would it have helped to loosen up the fender to get the dowels to line up? Instead of prying on it.
I did try loosening a couple bolts up front.
What does your wife think about the new rear panel ?
Honestly, She could care less! lol
Don't listen to him...I love it 😊
I wish you could send me the old header, mine is in many pieces. 😅
You didn't leave the interceptor tag on the wife's rear end?
lol It wasn't on there! long gone!
@@OldeCarrGuyLol 😂
@@OldeCarrGuy oh someone's been there already....
Kind of wished you would have actually shown the process instead of just showing us where the bolts are
It's not that difficult of a process!
@OldeCarrGuy oh for sure. But there was no point in making this video otherwise 🤙
