As a former LEO, Let me offer this tidbit. That is the absolute worst car you could try a cannonball run with. almost every driver on the road will slow down to a mile below the speed limit if they notice you. those cars only cut through traffic at any rate of speed with the lights activated. I couldn't tell you how many times I was just trying to drive to a training conference or class and it was almost impossible to navigate through all moving cars. Most departments no longer operate the Crown Vic as their fleet the car but it is so iconic that people still recognize it as such. If you don't believe me before you try your cannonball run just try going down an interstate and sit in the middle lane to see how many people are brave enough to pass you.
Agree you did forgot that he made this video and could be used against him because he show off everything of the car and if he gets pulled over they might find this.
Better car for a Cannonball: Kia Stinger. Pretty quick and very discreet. No one’s going to be upset that they got their doors blown off by a Gray Kia. Even if they call 911 to report you what’s the description going to BOLO: a gray Kia ….. yup, cops are going to be real motivated to find that Gray Kia …
I Agree. When I worked for FDNY I would take the unmarked Crown Vic out. I could not get around anyone on the highway because everyone would do the speed limit and unfortunately box me in.. it was white, no tints and just takedown lights behind the grill..
"That is the absolute worst car you could try a cannonball with." Wanna bet? This team (driving a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor) set a record for the fastest Cannonball run in 32 years, ruclips.net/video/qYTKIjSn3l8/видео.html
As someone who has sold over 2000 P71/P7B Crown Victoria's. The rear door button is nothing unique. It does freak out potential buyers though, but they love that it works.
depending on the department not just transport units had these options, watch out for FHP, they see the red lights on the front they will pull u over and can have you take them out on the side of the road, it dont matter if they are hooked up or not. you can't have front facing red a blues, that's why most have clear lenses
I'm the proud owner of a 99' P71. Mines light blue, former Iowa DOT enforcement. I've read comments saying these don't cut through traffic. I agree that everyone slows down when they see your cop car... But If you're offensive enough of a driver, these cars are insanely good at getting through traffic. I can cut a 20 min rush hr drove across town down to 8 min. Hahaha I love my crown Vic. These cars are beasts. They handle good and definitely aren't slow.
Awesome find. The GPS unit in the back on the tray is a Trimble Placer 450. They are older units that are only 8 channel and were impacted by the GPS week rollover issue, but very rugged and will still give a good fix today.
My 07 P71 came from the detective himself from Santa Monica Police Dept. Paint sucks, many holes but i got dual spot lights. Took off my rear lights but i still have visor lights and the kevlar in doors and rear end. Still finding goodies and ive owned it 2 years! yours is gorgeous. Keep it clean Sir!!!
Oh man, I just LOVE these terrific Panther P71's that have been around for decades now. There's a reason for that, they can take a lot of punishment during pursuits and despite being a full-size car, these Crown Victorias actually handle nicely at speed and they can handle a twisty road with no problem at all. I have owned two Mercury Grand Marquis' myself. A '95 and now a '05 that I have owned for about 10 years now and at 115k on the odometer it still rides and drives like a new car. I added in a nice in-dash entertainment center with navigation, cameras, DVD/CD player,, etc so other than looking like an 18 year old car (in beautiful condition) it has most of the electronic goodies of any modern car on the road today. I'm only 63 years old, but I expect this to be the last car I ever need to buy simply because it NEVER breaks down and since I drive it primarily on the highway it's longevity is pretty much a sure thing. However...If I should ever find a wrecked Mercury Marauder in a junkyard, I will buy the bucket seats and center console with the shift lever, and put them into my regular Mercury Marquis. I LOVE buckets seats with the console shifter, so I assume that it should all fit into my existing Mercury with just a bit of work to connect up the shifter linkage from the steering column to the center console...hopefully LOLOL. Thanks for sharing your beautiful P71 acquisition with all of us, and DON'T use your new car on the Cannonball run - I can already see some backwoods sheriff impounding your car, and you behind bars for pretending to be a police officer in a pursuit vehicle. I know it sounds stupid, but there are enough crooked law enforcement officers out there that can make your life pretty miserable running in a fool race like the Cannonball. stick to car shows and parades and enjoy your Beautiful car!
My buddy made those beauties in the Talbotville Ontario Ford assembly plant. Marauder was the Mercury equivalent but was discontinued. Plant closed in 2011 with my buddy getting a 960K buyout. He liked the interceptors that went to the middle east as they were leaded fuel with NO emmission equipment. I love those sedans!! Good vid
Nothing has better longevity, for the years of manufacture, of the Ford 4.6 and 5.4 TWO VALVE (MADE ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS). Our 4.6 went over 500K, in a work truck that was always hauling tools and/or materials. Our 99, 5.4, truck is still running strong, with over 430K on it. This is the era when Ford pulled it's head out of it's a$$ and built some quality engines...... Only problem is, around 2003, they reinserted head and cheapened the top end of most of their motors.
I bought my '04 CVPI in 2007, and then an '07 Jeep Wranger in 2010, accidentally coming across one of those kevlar police trunk packs at the Jeep aftermarket accessory store and installation shop in my old hometown. They had one they got stuck with when the customer who had originally ordered it welched and backed out on the purchase. I knew exactly what it was and bought it without hesitation, remembering a recent rear end crash / vehicle fire where a State Trooper sadly was kia in his Crown Vic unit. It had a couple of clear plastic covers that got busted up after a shooting range session when we loaded the trunk up with those heavy .50 Cal. GI metal ammo cans, but the trunk pack still serves well and stores a full sized spare upright on the passenger side.
1st!, i have an 08 that was a supervisors car @ the Escambia county sheriff's dept i bought 5 years ago and this channel showed me how to modify it with a Marty tune, MSD coil packs and a total cat delete, thanks Mr Random, i'm goin g to try and make the next Cr Vic meet coming up. 😁
Chicago used to give these away, I bought 9 cars for 2k at auction before covid. That and the surplus parts I bought made me enough money to buy an absolutely pristine inspector's car from NYSP that had low hrs. and even lower miles.
A strategy you should have is have spotters up ahead or have local (subscribers) at marker points with radios to help you with traffic information, weather and police locations so you don't have any issues.
The Kevlar trunk packs were a safety feature just in-case ammo was left in the trunk on a hot day. (That's what we were told back in the day in the academy.)
Gunpowder or smokeless propellant doesn't ignite until 400 F.... No car gets that hot. I'm in AZ. Ford specifically stated that trunk packs were to lessen the occurrences of items puncturing the gas tank during rear collisions...safety shields were also installed on the tank. I'm not even sure they are thick enough to be bullet resistant.
A bullet won't do anything in a fire because of physics. The casing needs to be held for the bullet to go anywhere at appreciable velocity. Otherwise, the case goes backwards and the bullet goes forward, equal and opposite reactions and such. Just like in the movies where a guy takes a shotgun blast and flies through a window, the shooter would be on the opposite end of such an immense force and likely fall down at least. The Kevlar in the trunk was for cover under fire, nothing else.
@@genefogarty5395 that is an over simplified and partially incorrect response. A bullet in a fire has all the opportunity to escape its casing with lethal velocity... If the casing is against the ground then all escape force is transferred to the projectile... It may not have the barrel for spin and accuracy, but it is still moving at dangerous speeds.... And the Ford trunk packs are not bullet resistant for cover... The design was to "catch" debris from a rear end crash. Ford stated that when they introduced them.
When I was lucky enough to get a solid black 2010 P7B it still had the cage, push bumper, spotlight, siren, and window bars. After 5 years of driving it all over the DFW area it still runs so fantastic. Truly an awesome car. I wish I had another one.
@@josephray7750 What’s funny is if you drive on 75 for a while you think that’s pretty bad but then you get on 635 and you just wanna pull every single hair out of your skull
It hurts seeing someone else live out my dream!! Haha, I've been eyeballing these vehicles for quite some time they are iconic, and I may have seen you on 45. Haha, have a good day, man
@@furrycircuitry2378 , I found my Vic parked in front of a ranch while driving through Ennis in 2017. There was also a white one and a maroon one but when I saw how clean the black one was I just paid cash for it. I thought for years about how much I wanted one and it’s been everything I thought it would be. It’s an awesome road machine.
As mentioned in the comments, These old P71s are a pain when it comes to two lane roads and paranoid drivers. I also noticed most people on the interstate will usually get out of the left lane when they see the familiar face of a P71 closing the gap (even though they have mostly been retired). Unfortunately you will also come across some cops that are on a bit of a power trip and despise the fact that civs can drive their old cars. Still I would recommend owning the icon before they're all gone.
I drive a used 2005 Ford Crown Victoria LX Sport P74 with 182500mi. Since 2020. I've seen on toll roads, side streets; marked Ford Explorers or deputies in GM Tahoes often slow up or glance at my black Ford P74 sedan. 👀 Most know it's NOT a police trade in. Cop vehicles don't have factory security key pads or sun roofs. 😉
I used to manage a fleet of police vehicles. Before scrapping old cruisers we removed the front push bar for reuse on new cars. We also removed all light bars, which were reused if they were LED, otherwise they were scrapped since they are not legal for civilian use in our state.
It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
In 2011 I bought a black 2000 ford Excursion with a v-10 , 22,000 miles, 4wheel drive, dark tinted windows etc. One of the best, fastest ford V-10 I have drove. I think it was just a personal transport vehicle for the FBI . No cage , no lights . I found a bunch of FBI stuff in it. Anyway when I drive it I get all kinds of respect on the highway. I drove from Amarillo Texas to Birmingham Alabama and I don’t think anyone ever passed me. I love this vehicle.
Back in the 90s I bought a former Saint Louis City sheriff prisoner transport Van . The electronics were still hooked up . But no lights . But in Big White Lettering it said sheriff on the roof
With the right equipment I'm sure this will make it. Definitely upgrade the intake and perhaps a twin turbo setup with a decent tune for the engine and transmission along with an extended fuel tank because you need range. Maybe even the 5.0 conversion stroker kit with APR studs. To make it truly capable of holding high speeds at a low idle with decent power for when you need to dissappear.
The best time we could do it. From LAX to Boston International Airport was 36hrs . No sleep in A 18 wheeler. Two Driver's Balls to the wall!! It was a hot load. I don't know how long it would take 1 guy... Real Talk 101 !!!!
Great idea! HOWEVER, now every state trooper office, Sherriffs Dept and Police Dept from New York to Los Angeles knows who you are, what you will be driving. Nice going Ace!
I scored a cherry 2005 from the local fire chief. Low miles and never rode hard. The scourge of every scofflaw and long-expired laminated 30 day tag in my zip code.
Nice car. Nice find with all those extras. A family member purchased a California P71 that was a detective's car. He really worked on it to make it nice inside and out. He had it repainted in the original brite silver with new window tint and new tires. It's beautiful. The bad news is he has trouble in traffic. It is constantly 'keyed' in parking lots. People give him the finger all the time. He has cars that won't get out of the way in traffic and just lane block at the speed limit when he comes up behind them even in the fast lane. He has just about quit driving it out of fear of bodily injury and actual threats. I was gonna purchase it from him but he has actually advised me not to because of the hostility he has received while in the car. Just saying the car might not be what you expect...
What he should do is switch the grilles to a Mercury and wheels out for Lincoln. He needs to put some personalization on it so that it doesn’t look like a detective car. I have an ‘11 CVPI white, former Taxi, I kept the white taxi light on the top and get to drive like a jerk. No one cares when a Taxi cuts them off, drives fast or slow, etc. I always recommend buying a nice Town Car or Grand Marquis over a Crown Vic, Especially P71!
Yep, I had one once. I parked it in a mall parking lot away from other cars and when I came back out to the car, I found that someone had intentionally scraped down the side of it with another vehicle. People are such a-holes.
When I lived in Butte Montana I went to church with the prison guard who had stopped escaping prisoners in a truck at deer Lodge and he ran into them head-on full speed with the crown Vic flipping the truck over and injuring him He stopped them from escaping
I can't think of a better ride. Some years ago a friend of mine had a 87 Diplomat - from a police auction and people would move out of his way all the time.
This car is BADASS 👍😲 You need to remove the siren and blue & red lights, they're illegal for civilian ownership. You could make good money renting this to TV & movie productions
I will openly admit that from mid ohio to mid Texas I averaged about 100 miles an hour, some times I'd be goin 125 close to 130, other times I was only goin 65 cuz traffic, all I have to say is going 130 in this car going past semis, you will feel the car move from the air from the front of the semis slamming into your car, just be careful
While P71s were the official go to for cops, If I was a cop 5+ years ago, I probably wouldnt have guessed it wasnt official, however. You wouldve been better off with a Ford Explorer Interceptor or even a Newer Taurus. Maybe even a Tahoe or Charger. And yeah you could probably get away in the little towns where their local PD doesnt have the funding to replace those againg cars and still daily drives a 2003 P71 around. But in bigger cities, this could pose a problem. Stick to the straight and narrow if you attempt a Cannonball.
I recently scored an automotive unicorn a 2004 Crown Vic LX Sport. I never knew such a vehicle existed until I found this one. Standard with everything included in your vehicle there except it was tailored to compete with BMW and Mercedes of the day. Fully loaded everything air ride suspension leather interior bucket seats console floor mounted shift 😳
I own a used Ford Crown Vic LX Sport, P74 2005. Black ⚫️... the car has around 182500mi. Crown Vics P74s or P71 do have flubs, glitches. My AC is trashed. The engine intake manifold has a gasket leak(leaks coolant). I had many parts, engine repaired or replaced. New double platinum spark plugs, new Die Hard car battery, new high end Goodyear all season tires, new water pump, new rear LCM, lights, new thermostat, new wiper blades, new car antenna(3rd one 2023).
@@chrisoconnor3119 Crown Vics 🚗 have their charm but as they age, they start to crack apart. I'd say for the larger size, the "LX Sport" 4.6L V8 does handle, corner well. Gets zip at highway speeds 🛣.
@DL Lambert on the highway it was so capable, at 100 mph it was so still I would have kept accelerating if I could have gotten away with it. And hold that speed to travel I did. Hold it at 90 plus to 100 for long intervals while traveling. I have owned over 40 vehicles by now and I would definitely repurchase a clean crown vic.
Red on the Right, Blue on the Left. I thought the protocol was the opposite of that so a person would know if the vehicle was approaching or going away? Sad, those three lights on the back shelf, The center RED one is the ordinary Rear (Fed Required) BRAKE LIGHT, which had better be working according to the State/U.S. DOT safety regulations. The two "White" Strobe lights flanking it are the Police Options.
As a former cabbie, a few observations, 2007 Crown Victoria with 2 storage in trunk, they did away with it after 2007... slide out in the trunk turned into a slide out with a lockable slider in 2009 (you a knobs to lock it in place).... in relation to leaving the lights and equipment in place and everything else, it is labor intensive to remove all the equipment, about a full day or more.... consider yourself lucky,lol.... I personally have a 09 p71 with 106k on odometer.... black and white from a local PD,got it at auction from a fleet owner who bought 10 at auction.... hehe..
I have a 2011 CVPI, new 2 stage black paint color sanded and buffed. 1” sway bars front and rear. Metco billet aluminum rear trailing arms and watts link. Eibach adjustable springs and QA1 adjustable shocks all four corners. Reworked the exhaust so it exits right behind the rear wheels. No push bumper but both spots.
Could not have been it's sole and exclusive purpose because those four antennas on top in a neat square pattern are for a Lo-Jack receiver that would have been in that car to track stolen vehicles.
A black car is the nicest looking car on the road, when they are clean. The problem is, they never stay clean. My black truck, I clean on it all day, and twenty minutes later, its starting to show dirt.
Being undercover for the last 30 years of my 32 years in, I drove Fury"s and Crown Vics in the first 2 years. Then I drove whatever I bought or was given to drive, looking nothing like the prescription cop cars. I was reminded in a harsh drive down memory lane, during year 22, when I had to drive a very "cop car looking" Crown Vic from Sacramento to Salt Lake City. Man, I wanted to set it 10 miles over and just go, but the traffic wouldn't let me. Everyone went 66 in 70, and 62 in 65, etc... being overly cautious... tobthe point they were so self conscious that the drivers were almost causing accidents. Never again. As much as I like Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (especially the 5.0 EFI), I cannot bring myself to own or even drive another one. Traffic hazards.
I had similar experiences. The last Crown Vics I drove were from the 88-91 model years followed by the 91 Caprices. Most were marked. After that it was whatever was ordered off the lots that was within budget. Sometimes we go some decent looking vehicles, and sometimes they took on a fleet look of their own. Closest to a police looking vehicle i got assigned during these later years was a 2012 Explorer XLT that although it was not a PI, came in the same color as the marked Explorer PIs one of the the major PDs in the area. Got cussed out a lot and couldn’t park just anywhere. Of course I also found that trying to move around traffic in a high profile luxury SUV had its own pitfalls and would likely get the “65 in 70” fast lane campers becoming good citizens and calling the police on you.
Awesome car. I still have my 2011 CHP Vic I would like to restore and place in the Cannon Ball Run or AAR Pursuit Charger I bought from Auto Auction Rebuilds three years ago. Has all the equipment everything works!
Brock Yates won the S to SS in '72 and 2nd in the cannonball in '75 with a Cotton Owens built Challenger, so stealth is a matter of opinion. You may want to put some 2:73 gears in there and an auxiliary fuel cell to have any sort of chance. His back seat was the tank for his ride, red lights for the gauges to reduce eye strain too. Popular hot rodding did a feature on the car back in the early '80s. Dennis Menesini was a family friend and the S-K Nutmaster trophy he was given by a past winner hangs in our garage. He had a 165 gallon tank in his crew cab GMC for the race.
The drive is from the Red Ball Garage on East 31st Street (long since closed) to the Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach, California, the shortest time wins. Ignore the movies about the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash - everything is wrong there. Find a library that has back issues of Car and Driver and Motor Trend from the 1970s - there are good, important details in the writeups, you'll need to know what really happened in the past. Also a long Time Magazine article from the mid-1970s. A time of under 36 hours is good, 2,863 miles - average over 87 mph. Remember, every minute spent getting gas, food, restroom has to be made up at higher continuous speed (130-140 mph), the real trick is staying awake and alert. And bring a load of cash for the speeding tickets, no Visa accepted.
Someone f***** up real bad those cars are supposed to be stripped down before they're sold. You get pulled over with those red and blue lights and all that equipment in there you're going to jail till it all gets sorted out
MANY years ago, 3 professional race drivers took a full size van with EXTRA large full tanks and drove nonstop all the way . never stopped for ANYTHING, except driver change.
Why stop for driver changes? My parents used to do it on the fly. New driver goes between the seats, set cruise control, old driver moves to passenger seat while controlling the wheel. New driver gets in.
I have a 2011 crown Vic and I found that little lock button by accident but I do have that tray in the back and I absolutely love it it holds my toolbox a jack jackstands everything I need
@@MrRandomReviews By the way and with all seriousness. Was it sorta the luck of the draw so to speak that you scored a law enforcement vehicle with a lot of law enforcement goodies still intact and mounted in and on the vehicle? I would think it probably varies from state to state and municipality to municipality on what they are willing to let go of in or on the vehicle is my guess. Anyways awesome find my friend. I used to work for my local H-D Dealership and remember going through the Law Enforcement/Shriners bikes that would come in brand new from the factory. Although they didn’t have all the cool lights and electronics like you scored, they had all the mounting spots for it, cool compartments, switches and buttons that came factory from H-D. Again cool find. 🙏🇺🇸✌🏽
Just purchased a 2010 black that came from Texas prison system. It has no extras at all. No harnesses no lights no radios or antennas it's a plain Jane. And judging by the miles/hours it was used to make coffee runs. ❤
FYI: In many states, it is illegal to have a mounted searchlight on your car, even if it was mounted on one that has been sold to the general marketplace. i.e - you need to take it off. Rest is OK, except if there are still red/blue lights - they gotta go as well.
As a former LEO I will tell you that radio at least was illegal to be in that vehicle. Regardless of if you bought it that way. Indiana law required them to be repainted a solid color that was not used by local agencies, No forward facing red lights, no blue lights, and that radio had to be removed.
Looks exactly like mine except mine is white and slammed on air with a pro charger! Still has almost all the emergency lights (all white except the back traffic advisor is white and red and legal to use)
Pretty cool, guess What I have the exact same model-color-accessories. Some are slightly different my lights to the Federal Signal console is fully op. I replaced the radio with an Anysecu mic display version, installed A/B switch so I can run internal radio or pipe it through the outside PA system. I have spotlights both sides, had to replace the lens on one. Trunk is the same with a pullout roll equipment system. Same Kevlar bins, I did not get those clear storage trunk bins, those are cool -good idea. My sprite controller lights can be changed to various colors front and back, in the rear window I have two, in the front I have one flasher on the dashboard another mounted above it to the roof. I have plastic George Floyd back seats and a cage though, back windows are bars across and screened. Going to look for a mic- ha ha. Check your doors when you have a chance mine are lined with level 3 kevlar and stickered with a ballistic test. Your paint is better though, mine has splotches on the paint like it sat under a tree with sap. Your antenna look like a Low Jack array for signal hunting, the back looks like it is a 50-40 mhz range antenna. Mine are 800 mhz Motorola with a center top 140-450 mhz dual band hub antenna (I did this for the Anysecu radio)My Federal Signal is a different model a couple extra rows that look like it could act as a switch controller repeater for hand foot units. Then yelp, Air horn and chase (left alley, right Etc.) I figure I will paint it Black again, any suggestions on a color or paint? You are going to love driving it in this config. My two windows are not tinted so people realize no cops are sitting in it and start tail gating or give their dirty looks. Going to tint these soon to keep nosey bodies guessing. YOU can order a US Government novelty plate, I have one on the front as we are required only a rear plate. So looking at the front it looks "100% US Government owned"
I have had my 2001 P71 5 years it's not my dally but I have put on 20k miles . Very relieable except heater core . Great used parts supply at pick apart and ok MPH 25 highway, great freeway cruiser lots of respect. They don't make like this anymore thats for sure..
I simply SHOCKED and AMAZED that they would sell this car with ALL these items in and on it ! Especially when we see these reports of people impersonating police Nothing against you personally…. But this has GOT TO BE a W.P perk ! I’d be willing to bet ALL the tea in China that this vehicle would not be sold to anyone that is melinated !
That wasn't a dedicated prisoner transport, it was an unmarked patrol . The LoJack install wouldn't be wasted on a prisoner transport. Also Sheriff departments do a lot of prisoner transport and a sedan is not going to do it. They use vans or mini_busses to full size busses.
As somebody who is quite associated with the Cannonball, that car won't be competitive, if trying to set a record. Also, with all the lights & all still in place, if you get stopped in or outside Cannonball...you could easily be in deep S for impersonation. One of my buddies has put 3 people in prison for it and it started with the vehicle. P71's have mostly aged out, but it's so iconic/recognized...it seriously isnt worth the headache. Biggest thing all those who watch VINwiki miss this huge part- logistics & spotters. You need a network
It is only illegal to turn on the lights or attempt to affect another driver under the guise of being a police officer. Different states have different laws but a DA would have a hard time bringing a case for impersonation simply by having colored lights on the car. Anyone can buy them.
@BISHOP You'll find out that, even if you could win the fight on that point, it'll cost you dearly. Also, if you get popped and a judge is sitting there looking at least photos of the car, and while technically correct in certain jurisdictions, the "F around & find out" sentiment will get transferred to another portion of the charges. At the reunion last September (on LI) my wife kept asking me if I was going to race a car. I said "No." Which is true, because it's been done over & over and guys like Arnie & Doug will throw money at it like no other to beat you. Very little return. You have to get very creative with vehicle choice. Christopher Michaels loves my idea... Lowers the risk, we know all the players, no stops at all, everybody who join in are known quantities- which is what will shut it down eventually.
@@olikat8 - I only know what I’ve seen on VinWiki. This car does not have anywhere near a sustainable speed capability, let alone the fuel mileage required at say 120+ mph. Not to mention it sticks out like a sore thumb, it just screams “fake cop, illegal stuff. “ I just did 1100 miles in my ‘11 CVPI at 74 mph and I lost count of how many fuels stops we made and the handling is like a boat at 100 mph, I couldn’t imagine how much fuel he would need in an auxiliary tank 60-100 gal 🤷♂️ (which adds weight and lessens economy/ handeling.
@Rusty Zipper it's a lot of logistics & build time, not to mention $. In '81, Yates pulled the plug because people who were gung-ho and going to try it were decent drivers but not "Good enough" to pull it off (certain modded black Countach). I've voice the concern I have that all the attention is going to encourage some to try it and the odds will run out. Injuries and/or death will happen & attorneys are going to find all the videos promoting it & go after certain parties as well. I'm not trying to be a wet blanket, but it's a lot more work & prep than I think a lot of folks imagine
I have two 2008 city police Crown Victorias that still have most of the stuff still in them, and still wired. Most of the stuff still works, too, lights, sirens, etc. one even has forward and rear facing radar. I'm not sure what to do with them, since they still have all the stuff, it seems like a waste to remove all that stuff, but I can't drive them around like that either.
GF....whats good my guy. Great to see you still doing your thing. Beautiful vic as always. Where are you getting these beauty's from? Its so hard to find a clean vic in MD/ WV ive been looking for over an year. You gotta help me out champ. I need another vic.
If you’re on the east coast: Auctions America, otherwise Gov.Bid, or local auction companies. I will highly advise you not to buy anything from auction, generally they’re overpriced after the fees and clapped out, neglected, sitting in surplus for years. Buy yourself a nice Mercury Marquis or Lincoln Town Car, 1 owner who now in a nursing home type of car.
Good Luck on the Cannonball Run, my brother -- Yer gonna need it !! Record time is 25 hours, 39 minutes. Average speed = 112 mph. Top speed = 175 mph. The dudes were wheeling an AUDI A-6 -- made to look like a Cop Car. That Black Beauty looks righteous, but all that junk (push bar, spotlite, antennas, etc. are gonna slow ya down. Ya gotta make it SLICK for optimum aerodynamics. Old-timey, "pizza pan" wheel covers would help a lot with the aero drag, and don't forget your famous "bumper tuck", too. Shorty Headers; Hi-flow Cats; MagnaFlow Glasspacks; 2.25 " maximum pipe diameter; exit ahead of rear wheels. Gut the upholstery, dump the heavy seats for Fiberglass buckets, and drill holes in everything that will save weight without losing strength. BRAND NEW K & N Hi-flow Air and Oil Filters -- they'll work perfectly for the 3,000 miles. You're going RACING, so you'll need the protection of RACING oil -- Red Line 50 weight !?? You MAY wanna swap in a 2.73 : 1 rear end gear for a higher top end, where you'll be spending the most time. Brakes !?? The Cop Brakes should be fine, but a fluid change to D.O.T 5.1 Hi-Temp fluid would be wise. Tires !?? Part that car out immediately! That equipment will fetch you a dollar or two! Like that L3 comm dashcam and the junk in the console. Those federal signal rear deck lights could go for like 100 or 2.
DEFFS ONE OF THE COOLEST CROWN VICS IVE SEEN. IVES SPENT SOME TIME OUTFITTING MINE TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE GOING ON LONG SNOWBOARD TRIPS. I WISH I HAD SOME OG THIS STUFF. sorry for the capps. damnit. not retyping that. The slide out shelf would be nice but i have my spare mounted there. and i have a solar pannel on my trunk lid now so cant put it there. but I've never seen those boxes before. Those are perfect for extra fluids and stuff.als might need to look into the storage pack but i get more stuff in my trunk by using plastuc bins, and im also somehow to fit a small air compressor,my cooler and 2 snowboards in my trunk with room to spare. have the 100 ah battery from the solar pannel next to the spare tire. dude this thing has a rack mount. I would put a mic pre amp and a reverb unit in my cron vic lol 😂 😂

This is true
As a mall security guard I have had a US Mall Marshal badge snatched off my uniform. Sheriff has no sense of humor. lol
The problem is you youngsters don't know what fast is. Buying germ ridden f****** cars where nasty f****** bums and criminals have been in
Awesome find.

Awesome score. Classic. Blues Brothers meets the 2000's. Crazy it came with all the electronics...
@@bishopdriver I thought he was saying there was Kevlar in the trunk lid like the ballistic panels in the doors. I'd yet to watch the whole video.

What do ya say, Is it the new bluesmobile or what?
Fix the cigarette lighter.
This is the most impressive Vic I have ever seen. Bring it to Nashville PPV meet in March please.
Two Driver's

Those gate crashers are highly effective. I had one on my 79 Scottsdale 4x4.
Where the heck does he live? What city?
Good video! I definitely learned a few things about the crown vic I didn't know. Good luck on the cannonball run!
This car is BADASS 👍😲
You need to remove the siren and blue & red lights, they're illegal for civilian ownership.
You could make good money renting this to TV & movie productions
Perfect funeral home pace car. Good luck and safe travels.

Why would a transport unit need Lo/Jack? Also didn't notice the display for the Lo/Jack unit inside the vehicle?
Your so lucky with that P71, have a great time , take good cared.
Could not have been it's sole and exclusive purpose because those four antennas on top in a neat square pattern are for a Lo-Jack receiver that would have been in that car to track stolen vehicles.
That would be difficult to stay awake driving from California to New York I tried it hauling freight in rigs, lol
A black car is the nicest looking car on the road, when they are clean. The problem is, they never stay clean. My black truck, I clean on it all day, and twenty minutes later, its starting to show dirt.
Drive it like you stole it. ROCK ON!
Good ‘ole Randy!
🤣🤣🤣 I remember that car.. lol..
Treat the car well, and it will treat you well..
That car is mint... It came with all the goodies that you normally don't find in P71s...
I don't think a state county sheriff's office would be transporting federal prisoners, as it would fall under the federal government, not state.

Why stop for driver changes? My parents used to do it on the fly. New driver goes between the seats, set cruise control, old driver moves to passenger seat while controlling the wheel. New driver gets in.

Just purchased a 2010 black that came from Texas prison system. It has no extras at all. No harnesses no lights no radios or antennas it's a plain Jane. And judging by the miles/hours it was used to make coffee runs. ❤
My first question is why is a County vehicle being used to transport and do Federal Business?
And why was it equipped with LoJack….
FYI: In many states, it is illegal to have a mounted searchlight on your car, even if it was mounted on one that has been sold to the general marketplace. i.e - you need to take it off. Rest is OK, except if there are still red/blue lights - they gotta go as well.
You talking about the lights they are illegal to use anyway..
Wish I could find one like that.. as a daily driver..
As a former LEO I will tell you that radio at least was illegal to be in that vehicle. Regardless of if you bought it that way. Indiana law required them to be repainted a solid color that was not used by local agencies, No forward facing red lights, no blue lights, and that radio had to be removed.
My 04 just hit 100k last week. rebuilt the front end and new tires. Great car
Looks exactly like mine except mine is white and slammed on air with a pro charger! Still has almost all the emergency lights (all white except the back traffic advisor is white and red and legal to use)
Check out the RF fame where the a/c drains. It could be almost broken in half. They don't throw those away for no reason...
I’d be willing to bet ALL the tea in China that this vehicle would not be sold to anyone that is melinated !
looks beautiful
it needs that handy high gloss touch
That wasn't a dedicated prisoner transport, it was an unmarked patrol . The LoJack install wouldn't be wasted on a prisoner transport. Also Sheriff departments do a lot of prisoner transport and a sedan is not going to do it. They use vans or mini_busses to full size busses.
Dude, that’s NOT a paint issue…it’s a washing issue…you just didn’t bother to wash the the CV before you made the video 🤔
I have an 07 Sport. Just crossed the 60k mile mark. It's still a smooth drive but yeah, people don't move out of the way like they used to.
Put the cage/bullet proof barrier back in and become an Uber driver
how did you manage to buy this???? and where??
All this thing needs is some type of silly cartoonish cowboy hat or something on the roof so that we know they aren’t 5-0
Looks like there are a couple sirens on the push bumper as well.
Looking forward to see that cannon ball run with the new vic 🫡🤟🏻
Is there a central place where one can buy retired law enforcement vehicles? A website possibly?
Tires !?? That's the BIG expence, 'cause a set of Hi-Po skins from Goodyear or Pirelli will dent your bank account, for sure.
Anyways, best of luck to ya -- lettuce no how it goes !!

He’s not going for a record time obviously that can’t happen in a crown Victoria it’s more about driving cross country nonstop
@@hoonmerc3775 Nah, man, of course Homey ain't gonna get no trophies -- but here's the deal -- It's a RACE, and a Racer wants to get a time to compare to what him or others did before, or may do in the future.
After racing in SCCA for a few years, I learned that racing is about a lot more than winning.
Cross-country non-stop ??
Back about '68, an old couple drove from San Diego to New York City in 60 hours flat.
There were no coast-to-coast freeways then, and they WEREN'T in a race.
Driving a '68 Citroen D23.
My personal best is Phoenix to Little Rock in 12.5 hours - 1968 Ford Cortina GT, with a staggering 90 horsepower.
@@SlikLizrd - I can assure you that he won’t take any of your advice. Top speed (according to Google) is 129. That things going to drink fuel like Nancy Pelosi at happy hour.
@@RustyZipper FACT IS -- Nancy Pelosi does not consume alcoholic beverages.
Her preferred "cocktail" is Sparkling Water.
Please check your facts before repeating the lies of others. Thank you.
@@SlikLizrd - 🤣 and her husband’s friend: David is a man he’s never met before, is also an extreme MAGA supporter….
Ultimate Respect on the Road!
Part that car out immediately! That equipment will fetch you a dollar or two! Like that L3 comm dashcam and the junk in the console. Those federal signal rear deck lights could go for like 100 or 2.
Where did you get this? How do you get one? And how much did you pay for yours?
Keep feathering it, brother!
How many miles were on it an how much did it set you back?
You acrually don't have to hit the unlock button 3 times. You just have to pull the knob to unlock the door or push it in to lock it
DEFFS ONE OF THE COOLEST CROWN VICS IVE SEEN.
