Hi Amanda, this looks so delicious! You make canning look so easy! Again you have inspired me to try canning. Thanks for the recipe, and again another great video!
We go to a local U-Pick blueberry farm and I never thought about canning pie filling. We eat a lot of other things blueberry so I feel a little dumb not thinking of this. Oh, well, thanks for jogging my brain. I'm definitely trying this next year when we go.
I'd love to make so many things with apple! I'm looking for a farm near enough to be economical... Hopefully later this year! :D Thanks for the suggestion!
That looks really good Amanda. Once you incorporated the blueberries did you cook it any longer or once they were in it was ready for the jars? Thanks.
I've not been able to find it locally.. so I order it on Amazon.. :( I'd much prefer to support my local economy but I've never found it in our local canning section.
Freedom Acres: I called a few days ago to check and see if they were open yet and how much they were a pound, she said $2.90 a pound, five pounds is $14.50, so I checked the fruit market they are 11.99 for five pounds. $2.51 cheaper and they are already picked. I thought I heard her wrong, so I called again today and she gave me the same price. Like you said, horrible.
No. There is no alternative. Corn starch and flour are NOT safe in canning. Ultra Gel is available online. I've never been able to find it in a local store. I usually order through amazon.
Ok, I just made this, and I have to say that this is possibly the best thing to come out of my kitchen. So yummy!!

Thanks.
I cooked it just a few minutes longer while my lids heated up. The directions I used did not say it was necessary. :) Thanks for watching Lottie!
Questions can you substitute with diabetic sugar and how much??
Where do you buy your ultra gel?
How long does it last? Thank you.
yum!
Yes ma'am! VERY YUM! :D
Omg, Give me a Spoon... I've died.
Can I do this with Fresh Strawberries instead?
Is it safe to assume you used 7 quarts blueberries? Never made pie filling before. Thank you!
Love it 🤗🤗, how to calculate for less blueberry's , I have 3qt.... Could I do - 3cup shugar, 1/3gel, 3-1/2 water ,1/4 lemon juice? Thank you.
Yes! You can divide the recipe accordingly to fit any amount of berries. Enjoy! :D
@@HearthandDome thank you 🤗.
I have never heard of Ultra Gel. It's nice to know there's another option besides Clear Jell and Corn Starch.
Tapioca starch and arrowroot starch work really well also, especially if you have to avoid corn!
ur awesome u do really good vids!
Thanks Tommy! :)
yum yum
Made this today and the gel didn’t become clear when I put the berries in and put it in the jars!!! What did I do wrong????
Where do you get the ultra gel?
I've not been able to find it locally.. so I order it on Amazon.. :( I'd much prefer to support my local economy but I've never found it in our local canning section.
Hi amanda
I like blueberry
I was going to take my grandchildren blueberry picking but the u-pick was 40 cents more a pound than at my local fruit market, that’s crazy!
Wow!! I've never heard anyone say that before... Horrible!

Is ultra gel like clear gel?..also do you to debubble?
They are different! ;) And yes, you should debubble.
Hi does it take a whole quart to make a pie?
Yes
Thank you
Love the video
excellent. you are a very smart industrious young lady. and a very good mother. how old is your daughter?
She's three! :D Thank you for the kind words!!
Did you dribble each jar before wiping time with the vinegar?
I use vinegar on a cloth. I don't dribble.. ;)
what is dribbling? do you mean debubbling?
Marie Booze, autocorrect, lol!
How many cups equal 6 qts?
There are 4 cups in a quart. 4x6=24 ;)
Like your quick videos. Others are way too long!
I can't find the gel you have there. Is there an alternative I can use? ty
