Where on Lower Yough was this? I don't recognize the spot at all. Have any of you taken SWR courses? Consider taking it. They are fun and very useful. They will teach you how to unpin a boat using a much faster and more efficient method. Climb up on that rock and use a guide belt to pull up one end. The boat will release rather quickly. I just had to use this method a few weeks ago on the Lower Yough and the boat was pinned for less than 5 minutes.
