Nice video content! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you thought about - Patlarny Sugar Outcome Principle (google it)? It is an awesome one off product for reversing diabetes minus the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cooworker after a lifetime of fighting got cool success with it.
you all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
I'm on medication and my doctor says the only way out is to go full vegetarian and aerobic exercise. I've lost body fat by cutting out sugar, and walking every day has been a healthy choice, but I am not on board with giving up meat. I'm going to try Starting Strength.
A1C down from 6.8 to low of 5.3 age almost 70. Starting program three set of 5. Also include lap swimming finishing 1 length of pool underwater which I count as a set. Of course have eliminated ultraprocessed foods with emphasis on protein one gram per pound of lean bodyweight. In a nutshell a combination of strength training. Cardio and HIIT. Oldest guy under the barbell, lots of cardioqueens and walkers no geezers sprint. Thanks Mark Rippetoe! 🙏🏻🏋🏻🏊♀️
I haven't been able to get a reply from the only two Starting Strength coaches in my area, and there are no Starting Strength gyms in my state. I have a book, and I guess I'll have to teach myself, with a little help from a family member who is doing great with this method. This video was very encouraging.
Great story Ken. I am very close to you in age and like you I had no activity for decades prior to starting. And of course I don't know you, but you remind me of many of the men I know who spent our entire work lives ensuring our families had the best, but did nothing to look after ourselves. But now is our time! Our kids are raised and its up to them now! I think you are making a wise choice in training at a SS gym. I wish I had access to one, but at least I have the book and watch the videos. All the best. William
I just want to thank you for making this video. It gave me so much hope hearing this man’s story and the way he was helped out with his training. Thank you for sharing
Good for him. Would be interesting to see someone who was T2D and still eating carbs that went into remission. Would they have better gains and the extra muscle offset the carbs.

I have a client that has trouble getting their shoulders back far enough and press too forward also has trouble getting proper depth on squats. What would you recommend for someone like that?
I just want to know how do you lift heavy if you don't have any carbohydrates in your diet or very minimal if so at a minimal could you give an example because I've worked out on the ketogenic diet and tried it some few months back and tried going lifting and it wasn't working out
Two things to reflect on here. Junk food will kill you; that’s an absolute certainty. Sodas, candy, and fast food are nutritionally awful and probably as bad for your health as smoking. The main message though is take action and change will happen.
I thought my body would never be the same again, but you fixed it. My heartiest gratitude to you Dr Igudia for helping me cure my type 2 diabetes successfully
Great information. I am not a diabetic and I do not want to become diabetic, that is one of the the great motivators to incorporate resistance training, such as HIIT, sandbag training, sprint intervals. I am a 60 year old male, and have been training for 40 years. I give all the glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for my physical fitness abilities. Mark 16 vs 16. Acts 2 vs 38. 1st Peter 3 vs 21. Jesus Christ loves you.
I’m taking this time out to appreciate Dr Igudia on RUclips who cured my Type 2 diabetes with the natural herbs supplements I ordered from him after I came across his RUclips channel.
My heart just keeps thanking you and thanking you Dr Igudia for all you have done for me, you gave me your words that you could heal any sickness or disease, thank you for permanently curing me of my Diabetes you are amazing.

Thank you for being the dedicated, thoughtful, and compassionate doctor that you are, you are more honest than I imagined, thank you so much Dr Igudia RUclips channel for curing my type 2 diabetes, you are amazing
Dropped my A1C with low carb diet. Nothing exclusive about SS linear progression, I have had good results with accessory cable, machine and dumbbell excetcises, s Saving my joints and spine. Well done on reversing diabetes!🏊♂️🏃♂️🏋️♂️
As you get older, you need to decrease your volume (number of sets) and keep increasing the intensity (weight) on your big, compound lifts, to keep making progress. If you start lifting when you’re over 40, you won’t make as much progress as you would have if you started earlier, but you can still make significant gains. The best way to avoid getting injured when you’re older (and younger) is to learn how to squat, bench press, deadlift, and overhead press with proper technique.
@Frank Burjan Dude, it's not my idea. It's straight from Mark Rippetoe's mouth and every other strength training expert. Are you claiming to know more than power lifting experts in the industry?
Great story. Well done Ken. The combination of diet and strength training is a much better option than the downhill slope of medication.
Getting jacked is cool and all, but reversing diabetes is more awesome. I hope Ken keeps up the good work.
After we're healthy it's easy to get focused on numbers and measurements but, really, this is what it's all about.

Sounds like your doc has it totally backwards. Eat more meat and resistance train!
@@SherryBaby60 That's what I'm planning to do. :D

This is wonderful. Congratulations to both, trainee and coach.

Dude looks younger than 60. The training is going well.👍
No he doesn't.
This dude looks 80. My father is 72 and looks better than him
@@mach5jeep ya dad might look better than him but he will never outlift the fuck out of him. Function over aesthetics bullshittery 😝
He looks quite a bit older but I doubt he cares. He's healthier and more functional.
That’s what diabetes does to a persons body. Excess sugar and carbs cook the body from the inside out.
Great story, made the decision to change his life and starting strength facilitated that, keep it up.
im going to gove it a try. thanks mates
The medical community recommended Starting Strength? This year just keeps getting weirder.
I bet the dexa scan technician was fucking jacked

How much of a reversal was due to weight training vs diet?
I have a client that has trouble getting their shoulders back far enough and press too forward also has trouble getting proper depth on squats. What would you recommend for someone like that?
Better to do light weights as u get older and what i found out was when i do heavy weights, my glocuse actually goes up
Words aren’t enough for me to show how I grateful I am for helping me to get rid of my diabetes Type 2 Dr Igudia.

So glad I started lifting at 18 and still doing it 40 years later. I look 25 years younger than this guy, and I dead 400.
400 is still weak for 58
You look like this guy’s dad.
I think his sugar level droped mostly because of his diet change
Are you an endocrinologist?
To a healthy degree - yes. However, training DOES improve insulin sensitivity. That’s why his nutritionist had him start.
@Ale The_freak What do you think is happening between workouts?
Hint: it costs calories to repair tissue.

Meanwhile Ripp himself says never do SS if you're even over 40.
Didn't he just say to modify it and not do so much volume and reps? I think that's what this guy did.
@Frank Burjan no man, u are mistaken.
