That was an excellent video. The DJI Inspire 1 got some great pictures. You don't want to get to close to a ship because it's radar may interfere with the Inspire controls.
I don't have mine yet. There isn't much around Houston to take pictures of unless you like traffic and flat land.
I guess the next thing will be zoom lens on the camera.

MultiSaffran He was probably pushing the limits of its range.I think the live video is pretty good.he is within5 miles of Ft. Lauderdale,so technically he should have received permission from the tower.It also looks like he flew over people on the beach,that’s a violation.I’m surprised the FAA didn’t flag the video.Cool video though

This is a prefect example of what the Inspire 1 is capable of. 4K video and the Quad has a range of about 4 miles. It can fly about 17-19 minutes on a battery. If you get a modded antenna you can get a range close to 6 miles depending on terrain and obstacles.
Great video, I have been waiting for you to do this since you got the inspire.
Your earlier phantom videos doing the same made me get the fc40/phantom 2 v+ and now the V3 p2V+.

Have you ever tried Autopilot from LOGIC? I use this instead of DJO GO app. I'm in the beta for their next release and it allows me to create a network or peer-to-peer airspace so you can use multiple copters without fear of crashing. Its also cool to use the map and set waypoints rather than having to fly to the location to set the waypoints. It seems you're like me and fly your copters to the edge of their capabilities so I figured id share. Nice videos.

i got my inspire 1 and i love it / its better because you dont have to mess with batterys and transmitters burnning up and haveing to wire crap together to make your video work now that i have the inspire i can fly out of sight when im vewueing on my 37 inch lcd monitor i installed 4 strob lights on each arm and for batterys i used 5 -3 volt watch batterys to make 18 volts to operate them and installed a toggle switch
it looks like a police car when it flyes at night awsome

This was the video that sold me on the inspire. I have no intentions on flying THAT far out but its awesome to know that it can. I just don't have the balls to risk a $3k device like that :D

What happens when you take off from a moving object, like a ship and the drone tries to return "home"? Home will have moved.
It depends on the model. The standard model sets "Home" to whereever you want home to be; usually the take-off position. The pro-model, however, sets home to whereever the controller is, so if you move around, e.g. on a ship or car it will come back to you.
Ik it seems like he's on the ship but he's not he is on the beach Just making that clear and I take it off from my boat while moving it is very hard to fly while moving just over all really hard to do

That's an awesome video! but le me ask you... did someone warned you or told you anything like "you cant do this" ? Just asking thinking if a coast guard identifies you, will you be in trouble? I'm asking because I have plans to buy one and this is exactly one of the few things I would love to do... film cruises, just want to be aware if there are any laws that forbid this :)

enjoyed watching that , I was in 2 minds are getting the new phantom 3 , after good times with my vision plus , but I think I,ll save a few more pounds and invest in the inspire , more power and it looks must better in wind , How fast does it fly on a still day???

That's insane! I wonder what the difference between the Inspire 1 & 2. Does the 2 go further than the 1?
+Daniel Steffin DJI only has an Inspire 1 (as of now). However they do sell the Phantom line, with 3 iterations. The Phantoms are a "semi-professional" rig, as they are cheaper and have lower specs than the Inspire which is intended for professional videography. Hope this helps!
