DJI Pilot, Inspire 1 Flight Simulator Demo

- NOTE: This demo uses a prototype Inspire 1 and early firmware. The landing gear does NOT move during simulation in production versions.
A quick demo of the flight simulator app that is built into the "DJI Pilot" app, which is used for FPV, telemetry, control, and configuration of the DJI Inspire 1. Demo uses beta v0.9.1 of the iOS app on an iPad Air 2, and a prototype Inspire 1 running old firmware.
Great video tutorial. I'm glad the Phantom 3 will also include the simulator. It's not only great for new pilots but also for testing out new features of the DJI Pilot app.
LOS is great but having FPV perspective would be really REALLY nice

Too bad you actually need to take the Inspire with you when using the simulator....I want to practice it at places where i don't have my inspire with me ....
Hi Eric, I think it's great that DJI incorporated a simulator, they should offer it on all models, but why does the Inspire need to be on, I would think just the app and controller is needed, also there should be a little more drift for more realism when in a hover mode as well as different environments other then an open field (i.e.: indoors, mountains, stadium, forest, beach, small town or maybe city for real estate agents), but very cool. :-D
I like the video, also find it funny you refer anything below the Inspire 1 "toys" lol but great video.
When will the simulator be available on Android???
Eric - why do you have to have the Inspire 1 on in order to use the simulator? I've looked online (also the case with P3) and cannot find an answer to this question. Thanks
1_Please have the option to use the simulator without the Inspired turn on or present. 2_ FPV camera view would be great added feature.
Actually, Phantom users can take over control of the aircraft when it's in return-to-home-mode bij switching the S2 switch, not the S1, because that's for IOC.
Simulator based on Google Earth would be nice. It's camera should also make videos

I just bought the Phantom 3. There is no longer an "Academy" icon on the home screen (v1.2.0 of the App), but the simulator is still available from within the help screen. Help is on the icon at the top right on the Home screen.
Like this a ton but tell me honestly now cause it matters- will this be put in the android version and if so, approx when, do you know? Thanks! Love this!

Why the mandatory connection to the bird? That just seems like premature evacuation of the product on DJI's part. Will the P3 have that same requirement?
What features does the inspire 1 have that the vision plus does not and vis versa. Also the vision+ has up and down on camera you have to move to copter left and right on the inspire 1 can the camera move up down left right. So can I fly the inspire 1 while moving camera with ease or hard ?
Very cool feature. I had a Phantom 2 and fly or for hobby aerial photography use. Would you recommend it to someone like me?

Hi there, i have a Samsung GS5 and I don't have the simulator at all. Is there something I am doing wrong ? (Controller and Quad are both on)
Is it possibile to fly the inspire 1 with one or two remotes ?
Or must i choose one or dual when i buy the inspire 1?

I think it's a little ridiculous that you have to have the Inspire next to you and powered on. Seems like DJI doesn't want Non DJI owners to use the simulator, but regardless you still need the transmitter. I was going to try the app, but I' not going to power my Inspire in order to use it. Makes no sense to me whatsoever!

presume connection to the actual multirotor stops copyright/cloned simulators

Simulator is the thing! I had "Fly Away" With my Phantom 2 Vision+. First time on tour 24 and I send It In. Last time tour 63 and fly away! I be Into Rc fore some years but boats and car,s. I bouth my drone because of film/Photo Intress. And With Gps mode It was fantastic. But after my acident I understand that this Compass/Gps not always Works. Its nothing wrong With Product. Compass deviation can happen. If this happen only way to take controll back is to switch over to Manuel/Atti mode!. Therfore simulator is the way to learn how to handle drone. This is somthing DJI chould talk about. My dealer whoo sell all kind of drones Write under every Phantom. "If problem With Compass/Gps switch over to manuell/atti mode when flying". I Write DJI after 2 acident but not a Word back from them. Simulator was not on Phantom 2 Vision+ befre last modell V3. Now Its on Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 God!. Many have loose their drones. DJI dont want to talk about IT.
Mr Chang, please correct yourself @. 18 secs it sounds like you say it is available on Android and its not! Please stop misleading, with intention or not, you are misleading. Btw. Please work on your firmware upgrades. After upgrading to 2.17 my brand new machine will not fly. 8 hours of dji support dis not do the trick. My bird is going back. :(
