its probably not an error, mainly cause every single education edition feature that was added to bedrock has been through similar phases of issues (example: the NPC mob didnt have a UI and couldnt ever be removed, even from /kill) and on the off chance this is a mistake, they cant reverse it without creating errors in other peoples worlds since its a block, hints why unobtainable blocks like glowing obsidian and netherreactor cores still exist in the games code
I think it is an error for Minecraft Base and Minecraft Education are pretty much the same game but with the Education version meant for schools, odds are someone from the team accidently added an education feature into the Base Edition while trying to update the Education Edition.

Resin bricks and regular bricks line up perfectly. But because the regular bricks are outlined with a lighter color compared to its darker bricks, and the resin bricks are outlined with a darker color compared to its lighter bricks, it makes them look unaligned. The specific reason why this happens is because light colors expand while dark colors contract. The lighter colored bricks of the resin expand and its dark outlines contract, while the opposite happens to the regular bricks. The dark line on top of the resin bricks also make it look shorter, while the light line on top of the bricks make it look taller.
I think that the reason the resin and normal bricks din't appear to line up is the coloration. With resin, nether and red nether bricks, the edge of the brick or the "cement" of it is darker than the actual brick, whereas the normal brick block's cement is lighter than the brick itself. So technically, they do line up, it just appears wonky because of the color.

This is basically a new clay set. It has a ball form, a block form, a brick form, and all the associated blocks...except for smelted block form, like clay -> terracotta. I feel like they should add that.
10:10 that block is called the unknown block. Loading a block with an incorrect ID in any world results in it being replaced by an unknown block, although it retains its ID. The ID is not retained upon being broken. Often caused by corruption or force opening a world of a higher version than the client, as the game does not recognize the id of newer blocks. That is why the bedrock edition doesn't recognise the ID of that slate block because it is from minecraft education edition.
Hot take…. If this slate block isn’t just something for educational edition. I think it should have a different design to separate it from both the educational version referred to as “slates” and regular signs. Perhaps instead make it a stone tablet. You could make it so they are chiseled into the different rock variants and either resemble a plaque on a solid wall or as a free standing tablet without a post. Think very tombstone in design. But hey that’s just me.
If you place a slate against a wall and type a message on them, it first appears as a "?" dirt block when you exit the UI. But place down another slate by it and the first one will change to a dirt-textured sign, and your message text will be visible, outlined white as if you'd used glow ink on it. There appears to be some serious Z-fighting with the texture. I tried putting them next to each other to see if they would join together to make the larger slates shown in the wiki, but nope. Aside from the "?" block and dirt texture, the slate seems to behave just like a sign.
I think the lock unlock thing is for multi-player. You can lock the sign and be the only player to edit or unlock it and everyone can edit. It would make sense if it's an educational tool, that way students can't edit what a teacher makes. Have you tried placing them together in the poster/chalkboard sizes and then doing the re-log trick to see if it expands in size?

Slate is an education edition block. It works the same as a sign but more text room and you can unlock and lock with it. In survival you can’t lock it. In education edition there are 3 versions in education edition. There are 3 sizes of them.
The slate is obviously just a bug from Education Edition, but having 3 different sized signs would be really cool for the normal game. Right now we just have signs for short messages, or Lecterns for long messages, but those have to be clicked on to be seen.
They should make it a real item and use it as a work station. A new villager job: Teacher. The Teacher could teach green shirts for emeralds (tuition) or something like that until they become brown shirts.
Can someone report these bugs for Minecraft bedrock? - if you try to drink honey while looking at a copper grate it won't let you drink - if you edit a sign and get attacked it will kick you out and you won't be able to do anything unless you turn on and off your controller - when collecting honey from a beehive if you collect 13 it will stack up to 12 than start another stack
Only two are bugs. The first one, both the button for drinking/using items and the button for interacting with objects is the same, so that’s not a bug The second one, odd the kicking you out part is intentional, but the controller bug is not. The third one, that’s odd, don’t know why it does that.

The slate block is probably going to be like a billboard sign where text message will be running through, thats why there is a locked(fixed text) and a unlocked (running text) but we cant see it cuz of the dirt block texture, also the icon itself looks like a small monitor that displays text

A cool idea would be to have a single structure of resin, like what we see in the website photo, in the pale garden that has a living sniffer and naturally spawning torch flowers, pitcher plants, and more eye blossoms around the structure. Then if they make creakings hostile to all mobs in the pale garden, they could omit sniffers, and make it seem like these creakings are protecting and adding on to the resin structure/sniffer. I mean why wouldn't they want to protect on of the only mobs that can bring back ancient flowers. (Plus the idea of this structure being the reason creakings harvest dark oak forests, and make them into pale oak gardens, could be really interesting and cool.)

I've seen Dawko play it in VR and it looks really good. It's actually quite smooth. Maybe they just didn't see the point of it after all this time I don't know or maybe people aren't affording to buy a VR headset and so they don't really see the use of the support. Understandable
The slate (chalkboard) was accidentally added in this update. It originally came from Education Edition which uses the same code as Bedrock. This is actually the second time the slate was accidentally added, the first time was in Pocket Edition alpha 0.16.0 build 1, along with the other two chalkboards and the rest of the Education features.

Nooo, not vr! I've been having a lot of fun with that. It has had some bugs, so I guess its not too surprising, but its sad they are abandoning it rather than fixing it. Minecraft vr is really fun once you navagate around the bugs. While there are plenty of mods, what made it so special was that it was bedrock, so you could play on your vanilla worlds with friends. It was minecraft, but vr. You got to go explore the caves and world in full soze! Actually be there!. The deep dark is especially fun. Definitley need to make sure I go explore any ancient cities before its too late.

You can toggle Education Edition blocks on Bedrock. This is a bug. Slate is not comming to Vanilla.

As someone who used to play education edition a few years ago, The slate is just a sign with 3 different sizes and made to look like a chalkboard.

Behind the ? block you can find the actual slate, with the text on it. You can see it in spectator mode if you fly inside of that block

For me I could place it on a wall and then break it to see the slate and the text without the missing texture block.

also when the creaking despawns instead of completely dissapearing it should become an eyeblossom or a new ground decoration called a creaking sprout
