Definitely knew what he was doing. I miss flying like that. I was attached to a helicopter squadron during the Vietnam Era and rode in numerous helicopters, but gliding to me is the ultimate! I remember doing a regional competition at Lasham many, many years ago, and did my first 300km flight during that competition.
