Who could ever replace him? I was lucky enough to meet the great man in 2005, he was gracious, kind, funny and so interesting. He gave us over an hour of his time pre-show, and his wife was a sweetheart. He had his dog with him in the theatre, and was very pleased to hear about our own dogs. Then we sat down to 6 hours of the best and happiest time we've ever had. Thank you Doddy, for everything. We will miss you forever. ❤️

What I loved about Doddy was that he was the peoples comedian. Just like Les Dawson, he was completely approachable. He never elevated himself above his audience. Anyone and everyone could hold a conversation with him, just like Les too, and both of these remarkable legendary comedians never ever forgot their roots. God bless Doddy and Les. We will never see their likes again. How lucky I am to have seen both in my lifetime.

Remarkable! Brilliant beyond words with a voice to match, and how fortunate to have such a happy childhood with loving and attentive parents, and yet he still had more than his share of heartache while bringing joy and happiness to others. Loved by all who met him. He set a good example to the rest of us. "How to be an Overcomer" with smiles for tears. He still lives on, does Dear Doddy, with a mission to make the world a better place.

As was said about Ken Liverpool loved him so much because he never left the city, unlike a cerain so called singer with hair colour that does not exist in nature.

For me anyway the BIGGEST outrage and injustice was that he literally had to wait a year before he died to receive his knighthood.
I'm a bit surprised he even accepted it because what he did in his career etc me personally I think I would of turned round and told them to stick it where the sun don't shine.
