@@JamesRichards-mj9kwGood what have the left done? dumped millions of unwanted 3rd world immigrants all over poor working class communities, there traitors to Liverpool 100%.
Doddy was a comic genius. I have been to his live shows many times. You never knew what time you would get home! His jokes came thick and fast, you hadn't finished laughing at one joke when he fired another and another... RIP Doddy.
I was born in Broadgreen hospital and lived in Knotty Ash, but my parents emigrated to New Zealand when I was three so Liverpool is somewhere that exists only in my dreams sadly, never been back since and that was in 74 that we left, half a century has gone by since then, I sometimes wonder at the sort of life I might have had if we'd stayed.
Liverpool has given birth to may famous sons, Most grew up, became famous and left. This man remained in the city and always spoke proudly of the place of his birth. A good man and a good comedian.
there was a printers at the bottom of our road on County Road in Walton, and we would often see Ken going in there to get his flyers or his programmes as they were printed there, and every time i used to say to me da, "weve just seen Ken Dodd" my dad would say "did he have his grey suit on" ?.......everytime we seen him he did always have that same suit on...
Hope street is now unrecognisable compared to then. The nearby Georgian streets were saved from demolition but i wonder how many of the properties in this film on hope Street really had to go.
Him telling the jury during his tax case that he buried money under the floorboards "in case there is another war" and getting off with it is the funniest thing ever😂😂Even the judge was laughing.
haha Doddy got his year wrong there....Wellington in 1600 and something...well at Waterloo he must have been a grand old man indeed. lol I loved visiting the city of Liverpool in the 70s when I would follow my team Forest to watch Liverpool. Liverpool have been my second team ever since 😀
THERES A LEDGAND IN LIVERPOOL THAT THE LIVER BIRD FACING THE SEA IS WATCHING FOR THE SAILORS COME TO PORT AND THE OTHER LOOKING IN LAND TO SEE WHEN THE PUBS ARE OPEN AND IF THE LIVER BIRDS FLY AWAY LIVERPOOL WOULD CEASE TO EXIST
Well if Labour cared about the working class maybe I would agree, they don't and neither do the Tories both traitors to the working class, Labour abandoned us first under that creep Blair.
Happy birthday Doddy. He was obviously very proud of his city and lived and died in Knotty Ash.

I loved his fast delivery of jokes, like a canon firing out jokes at you at a fast pace.

Your parents left at a good time - there was lot of unemployment in Liverpool in the 1980s.

True Dat Lar 🤔🤔🤔
Did you know Ken Dodd hit “Tears” outside everything in the charts in the 60’s except for the Beatles
And I think only The Beatles and Rolling Stones were the only bands to outsell him during the entire decade
0:19 “Why do they call it the “Liver Building”, when they don’t call it Liverpool” - James May

If you ever feel depressed or suicidal, watch Ken Dodd. Cheers me up on a down day!

Hope street is basically the same. What do you mean? The only new buildings are the hope street hotel, and the new Everyman building.

People of a certain age will have grown up with stories of Ken Dodd going door to door selling household cleaning products. Including feather dusters.
