- In todays video we're trying something a little bit different! A start finish process of our decontamination wash. This is the style of wash we typically do in preparation for a heavy paint correction. Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of detailing on a cool spring day. This BMW E30 is our new project car and it needs a lot of help, we are going to be wet sanding the entire body to see what kind of finish we can get out of it, the car will eventually be repainted as there are so many dents we stopped counting. Just a few tips. Dry the car before doing a mechanical decontamination. Your clay bar is just sliding over the wet surface but not actually picking up the remaining particles. Keep the iron treatment away from the windows and work in sections. When doing the wheels, don’t forget the wheel wells, they trap tons of dirt and all of that tire shining will be for nothing. When actually applying soap and scrubbing work from top to bottom, and use a separate mit for windows.
So you’re saying to use the clay bar while it’s dry? You need lubrication to clay an it will still pick up the contamination

Yoh.. 13:30 - 13:40 (ish) if that's what a "detailing" is then no thank you. Blatantly left a big spot on the right side of the hood and then did it again on the right door...
I also don't understand why (seen more "detailers" do it as well) the tar remover isn't used As Well As the iron remover
Another thing i don't get is why bother with the snow foam if you're just gonna do hand washing while it's on the car... again something that is done by others as you do.
Any good reason why you don't clay the windows, mirrors and lights?

Great video. What cleaner are you using in the handheld foaming sprayer? I picked up an IK foamer a few weeks ago and haven't gotten results that nice
Thank you! I use P&S Brake Buster and 3D All Purpose Cleaner. Both result in the same foam for me!

Just a quick question. What pressure washer and nosels are you using. For example when wetting the car?
Really nice video man , quick question this may be dumb , but I was looking for the pressure washer you used as it seems nice . And I notice it’s commercial grade but only 1300 psi is there a reason why people would substitute less psi for commercial grade than more psi for your standard roll around . And also is it harder to get dirt and grime off with less psi ? Thanks man great vid
Kamron thanks buddy! For me it was more so the build quality that you get with the commercial grade stuff. In my experience you don’t really need a huge PSI output for detailing cars, anything that doesn’t come off with 1300 will probably just need to be clayed off anyways. But that’s all personal preference!

That car looks good but needs some work to the attention of the emblem and the 3 on the trunk lid. The license plate light is easy to attatch back.

If I may , before doing the wheels, & tires, I would do each wheel well, cause the amount of dirt & grime, caked on or collected , I I had a preassure washer or a hose that has enough power to get all that dirt out would make a difference, after all, let>s say you live in an area where there is dand, or if snow comes down that they put salt on the roads, that could lead to the car getting rust ,of course I am a perfectionist and I like to clean as much as I can , after seeing some cars get rust in the wells, which would lead to extensive repair bills, which means, a lot of $$$$$$$, I don*t have,but if I can prevent rust from forming, hooray, less worries.
