Well in the West basic hygiene hasn’t really caught on yet. (60-70% handwash after toilet and Netherlands is lowest with 50%) Sooo. For anyone wondering why we have to be in lockdown during this pandemic while esp HK and Taiwan are quite fine.
We need more videos from you as well. I love when you two collaborate but will be equally satisfied with just watching your videos. You guys give me something to look forward to. Keep them coming... Congratulations on reaching 500,000 followers!!!!

@@melz6625 The thing that baffles me about their hygiene is that they don't even wash their private parts after excretion! They only wipe it with toilet paper!!

as someone who lives in the west and is currently going to beauty school, i have to say that scalp treatment and care are also a thing here -- just not as big, and that's because it's expensive and it tends to be more focused on long term results. people want instant results, so here we tend to focus on taking care of the hair shaft more commonly than the scalp. one of the very first things i learned while starting the hair care segment at school was how to properly wash hair, and let me tell you that it absolutely does make a difference. our teacher emphasised a lot that even the way that you massage your scalp in the shower should be tailored to your type of scalp. oily: massage the scalp in long, diagonal strokes; dry: massage with circular strokes. there's also plenty of scalp care products, but they tend to be more high-end by brands like alfaparf and paul mitchell, and they work really well -- but people don't want to buy them because they're not exactly accesible. i think one of the failing points we as beauticians fail at here in the west is that we don't educate our clients enough on how to take care of their hair and skin enough. maybe it's because we tried it once, the client ignored our recommendations, and so we decided to never mention it again. but if we taught more people how to take good care of their skin and hair, not just for beauty puporses, but health-wise too, i think a lot of people would benefit immensely and save a lot of money on gimmicky products that don't treat the root of their problems.
Hunter Watson no, i’m actually in mexico 😆 northern mexico to be exact, so i’m just going to regular beauty school. but my teacher has a lot of experience in the industry, she has been dedicated to the beauty industry since her teens, and is always taking new seminars to stay updated. i’m really lucky and grateful to learn from her tbh
Can you start a RUclips channel? I know we can't do a lot of the treatments that can be done at the salons, but I would love to learn about basic hair care that can be done at home from a professionals point of view. I've always asked the professionals that have worked with my hair on how to care for it in the longer term, but they always gave me the quick solutions, e.g. "this product can be used to bring volume," or just dismissed the questions.
Why don't Japanese people move to Norway to start a salon here??!! You would make GREAT money on a business that does these kind of skin/hair/body/nail treatments. I'm dying to try this, I swear I would be crying from the relief! 😍😭😭
I work as a hair and scalp therapist just like the lady that did the treatment on you for almost 3 years in Singapore. One of the first head spa opened in Singapore. I am very blessed to have a Japanese specialist to train me for 3 months. :)
also big shoutout to your editing here, taylor. love the transitions with the anime scenes and the lofi music at the end! i feel relaxed watching this video. hope u keep doing that!
I shaved my head right down to the scalp last year. I used a straight razor to get real close, and man could I see all the damage I've done with bleaching and colouring to my scalp. My husband gave me scalp massages and its made all the difference to the way my hair is grown in now.
Your videos are helping me not be so bored during the corona virus outbreak, thank you! Everyone stay healthy and safe! Don’t forget to wash your hands! And thank you to the health care workers on the front line!👏🏼
I just realized I miss Natalie 💜 I knew I would when she left....but now I feel her absence. This video isn't missing anything, I love it, I just noticed some spots where Natalie would make a face 😂. Stay well, every one 💜
I did this treatment at Tomoko Shima Hair Salon in NYC. I didn't get a drink or essential oils but everything you said about it was true. I almost fell asleep. It was relaxation I'd never experienced before. The blow out was not included in my treatment.
@Met3lAngel The prices relate to how long of a treatment you do so for 40 minutes it's $55 USD and it goes up to 60 minutes for $90 USD. That doesn't include the price of a blowout or tip however.
After watching this, I looked up to see if it was available in my country - it was!! I had a treatment today and it was incredible. I almost fell asleep. My hair looks and feels amazing and I feel like I've got more energy than before
This was really eye opening. I never even considered giving my scalp the same love as my face. Our scalp can even get more sun exposure then our face since we don't put sun screen on it or might not wear hats enough.
THe assistant is so sweet knowing that she is not a pro eng speaker but she tries to get along with gestures and stuff just to satisfy the client AMAZINGGG
This topic is such a current concern of mine! I passed by a salon that was offering a scalp cleaning treatment a few weeks ago. I was intrigued because I learned that an oily scalp leads to thinning hair, which is probably the reason for me. But I didn't hear of that procedure before and they didn't put much info there so I was still hesitant. Your experience just motivated me to give them definitely a call! Love your videos entertaining and informative ❤️. And that entry of Okamotosan was like in an anime or drama, haha so funny and cool.
Be safe, Taylor, and Elbow-san! And the family! It’s crazy where I am as well, in Ireland! I hope all of it clears up soon. But this video was amazing! I’d love to get this treatment done! Looks so relaxing as well!

A head massage is soooo needed for so many reasons. Hair wise, your hair was the best when you had it long when you were in Japan. Looked so soft, thick and luscious without any treatment.
I really love when you smile. Don't be weirded out but people with, like, good teeth structure (is that how you call that lol) and with a good smile just looks so beautiful and you're just too pretty ❤️ inspires me to take good care more of myself and look good 💕 anyways, love your vids!
I’ve used function of beauty shampoo and conditioner. Tbh it’s overpriced and doesn’t make much difference. You’re better off saving the £44 and get a regular shampoo and conditioner for a 1/3 of the price 🤷🏼♀️
This is Ayurvedic hair spa, originally from India and the essential oil and other treatments are chosen according to your ayurvedic dosha type (body problems)
TAYYYYYLORRRRR !!! I have been going back and forth all month on whether or not I should finally buy a Function of Beauty hair care set. This is a sign!!! Beautiful hair, here I come! The shiny effect is from the serum they used. Use that at home and you'll get the same effect. I can recommend Joico k-pak serum, otherwise.
