I have a Brother MFC-J870DW and the paper was coming out blank. The cleaning function is located by tapping on the ink icon for this model. I had to clean mine 20+ times, but it worked. Thanks!
Thank you so much! I only had to clean the heads once and it's working. My printer is quite new and I hadn't printed many pages, so I was surprised that I needed to do this so soon.
Thanks, I cleaned x3 but it eventually printed. Odd - the printer is almost new and had done perhaps 10 total pages. Probably not a good sign, long term.

@@nyangel515 the ink heads were insanely old and dirty on my printer. I had to go through cleaning an insane amount of times and basically burned through a set of ink cartridges.

Mine is MFC-J430 but it doesn’t have three modes of cleaning. I only see one option for cleaning And after trying this a few times, I am still printing out blank pages. What should I do at this point?
Keep doing it, over and over. Read other comments. Other people have said that they needed to clean the print heads sometimes DOZENS of times before the printer worked again. So keep cleaning those print heads!! And come back here to let me know if it worked because I'm in the same situation as you! LOL. Mine still won't print either, and I'm on my third cleaning as I type this. Wish me luck ✌🏽. Hope we both get our printers working. 👍🏾🙂
@@godkiller6x6 yes it eventually worked. The black is a little imperfect still and made no progress after two additional tries. Has it plateaued? Should I continue trying to make it “perfect”?
I don't really know how to proceed... I'm thinking that it might just be time to get a new printer. 🤷🏽♂️. That's what I was trying to avoid, but I just don't see this machine getting back to where I need it to be in terms of print quality. 🫤

@@m3s69ll thanks for the follow up! I cleaned mine about 13 times and all the ink seems to flow freely now, but the image is blurry as hell
