    Once you wash the carbon filter your going to want to throw it away since you just destroyed it. Especially if you used soap since all the activated carbon is now adsorbing (not absorbing) soap molecules. Even if you use plain water the activated carbon adsorbs impurities in it lowering the useful life of the filter. It should basically only be vacuumed.

    • @TurdFerguson456
      @TurdFerguson456 10 месяцев назад +4

      Not entirely true. Certain carbon filters shouldn't be cleaned w/ soap and water. This one "can be cleaned with soap and water." It will degrade the scent capturing ability(technically), but unnoticeably! But I have no sense of smell, so 👍😆

      It scoops itself a short while after the cat uses it. We empty it once a week. To empty it you just pull out the bottom drawer and tie up the bag and put a new one in. Depending how messy your cat is will depend how often you need to deep clean it. You can generally keep up with it simply by wiping it down every couple of weeks. We only give it a deep clean a few times a year.

      The machine rotates and dumps the cat pee/poop clumps into the bottom sealed container. The owner dumps out that container a couple times a week. She only has to thoroughly wash and disinfect the upper and bottom parts of the machine every couple weeks.

      @@stuff1784 Do you even have the slightest idea how stinky a cat's urine and poop is? Even with the most absorbant sand or gravel there is?
      You must clean this at least once every 3 to 4 days. Once every couple of weeks is a big no, and just proves that you either never had cats, or that covid destroyed your olfactory senses.
      Alternatively, if you have a garden, you can put the litterbox in your garage and just let your cat poop outside, that's where my 2 cats do more than 90% of their business.

    • @ewright5866
      @ewright5866 6 месяцев назад +2

      Think of it in human toilet terms. This allows for the cat's 'leavings' to be removed like we flush every time the toilet is used. For multiple cat households it means that the next cat has clean fresh litter to go next. It also means instead of having to scoop the litter every day (twice, three times etc) it is done automatically. But like our own human toilets, they still should be cleaned every week. What she has shown in the video is a DEEP clean, which could easily be done once every couple of months so long as you do a weekly wipe down, (you let the machine start a cycle, stop it part way, wipe down with an enzyme spray, let dry and then finish the cycle. It takes about 10 minutes AT MOST). It's a luxury item, definitely, but you can't compare it to a regular litter box by any means. The time it saves is immeasurable as everyone has different values they put to their time. I also find I save a lot of $$$ on litter compared to a standard box.

    • @CornPopsDood
      @CornPopsDood 6 месяцев назад +1

      This is literally the same process that should be done with any litter box…only a lot more complicated than it needs to be. The time to disassemble & put it together again you could already be done. Marginally better than a regular litter that’s up kept properly at best. Cat hoarding is the only way this makes any kind of logic. Assuming they all will use the same litter box which is a roll of the dice itself.

    • @ewright5866
      @ewright5866 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@CornPopsDood To each their own. I know some who do this process (deep clean) only once a year because with weekly wipe downs with an antibacterial/enzyme cleaner, the machine stays clean and odour-free. They don't care about having to give the machine a clean. And disassembling takes all of 5 seconds if that... :D
      It's funny you mentioning multiple cats & using the same box, a friend of mine has three cats... she had four litter boxes in their house and she would constantly have one of them going outside the boxes. She ruled out health issues, and was recommended trying a robot (not this one, a different one which does the same thing).... she now has her robot and 1 regular box and the issue has gone away. It was concluded that the cat preferred that the litter was always clean when she went. So this is a reason not related to the owner, why these things can be useful.
      The main reason people buy this is because they don't have to scoop 2-3 times a day (as one should with cats being as fastidious as they are). They pay a premium price in order to have that luxury. Not everyone can afford it and thats okay, that is what a regular litter box is for.

    I find it absolutely appalling that so much of cat shit would be stored in my litter box for weeks! So unsanitary. The stool bacteria float in the air too🤢🤢
    I would rather use a normal litter box and pick up the shit and throw it everytime. Weeks of piling shit is not the way to go

    Put your hair in a ponytail because you want to work cleaning the cat litter area, it would be a shame if your hair got dirt on it

  • @Frotsie
    @Frotsie 4 месяца назад

    Do NOT do this in a shower without having first removed every trace of your litter. Clumping litter (most of the time betonite) will solidify in your drainpipes and cause a clog that can only be removed manually. No product will help you, as betonite is a leftover product of concrete production!!!!!

    All the people saying this thing never smells is living in denial. My kid has one and it smells so horrible. I get a headache from it. It's for lazy people that think because they paid so much for it, it doesn't stink. It is awful!
    The best thing one can do is get a febreeze box abd put wood pellets in it. They fall through the slats and you can dump anywhere in your yard or trash. It's not heavy, but cheap. And yes you have to clean it.
    Only way I'd use the robot is for IF I go away. But it still needs to be taken care of religiously for it not to smell. And if the litter doesn't clump good it's a sloppy mess. Not worth it to me. And the cats scratch at the rubber bottom leaving it rough and hard to clean. And somehow the poop is left on the steps going out. Of course you have to buy replacement bottoms for more $$. 🙄

    • @lizsays3324
      @lizsays3324 Месяц назад +1

      It smells because your kid never cleans it, like this woman. And uses cheap litter. You don't have to scoop twice a day, but you still have to scrub.

    If you have a garden you might as well just let your cat do it outside, and then you use the litterbox during winter when it's too cold.
    I just saved you 75% of your time

    • @lizsays3324
      @lizsays3324 Месяц назад

      Gross. Just like dog poop, if your cat goes outside PICK IT UP. it's toxic for the environment. And they don't only go in your garden, they go in your neighbor's too, which I'm sure they hate.

      There is no porpose. It’s just a fancy litter box to waste your money on. It’s 10X harder to clean and someone said it’s like 700 bucks. It’s either an ad or one of those videos where TIK tokers like to shove all their fancy expensive and useless crap in normal peoples faces.

    • @20TwentyImaging
      @20TwentyImaging 10 месяцев назад +4

      Yes but now you only have to do it every couple of weeks or even once a week if multiple cats, verses scooping twice a day. The robot scoops and dumps in a bag in a separate compartment to help contain any Oder. Depending on how fast it gets full (to your liking) then you dump it... you only do the extreme clean like that when you feel it's needed it's your cat your house !
