@@PacoM. well I mostly use my iPhone :D or go pro, but when I do shoot 85mm its usually a 55mm cropped 1.6 to = 88mm but gets the job done! close enough I do have an iPhone SE 2020 26mm f1.8 with a 3.5x tele lens which is more like a 91mm but its pretty terrible haha, sometimes u just need to get the job done. I kinda like the distorted lines and vignetting it adds character ;)
Imperfections in image quality show when shot wide open. You see more of the chromatic aberration, vignette, distortion, loss of sharpness, etc. How much of it shows varies on lens. Also, there are times I don't want to obliterate the background in bokeh goodness. 😅 Seeing what's in the background is nice from time to time. Congrats on the new lens. It is an amazing piece of glass.
@@PacoM. Yes I get your point, but I'm specifically referring to the use on this lens if you have observed any differences. I also agree with the bokeh point you made,.althouht 2.2 still gets you a really blurry background to make it visible 😜
One difference is you get a bit of a swirl wide open at 1.8. You notice it in the shot with the lights on the tree behind her. Yes 2.2 still is very bokehlicious. 😅
😅 Good one Connor. But yeah, I noticed the 85mm has a bit of a swirl at 1.8, and while it's a nice effect, it doesn't always look good. But thanks man.
*subbed* much love from Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦 I love this focal length!
Thanks! The 85mm is just amazing. Do you shoot on a Sony as well?
@@PacoM. yes but I prefer 50mm or 100mm but I also love 85 so XD It depends. and no, I don't
Well whatever camera system you are using, I don't think there are any terrible 85mm lenses out there regardless of brand. 😅

So why do you prefer shooting in some cases 2.2 instead of 1.8?
Btw just bought this lens and I'm in love

Wow someone who doesn't just shoot at f1.8 😂 nice images man!
